We thought our boy had a UTI. We went online and easily booked a same day appointment. When we got there Dr. Sharon Baker was so nice. She listened to our concerns and even watched a small video we took of our dog. She was concerned and recommended we get an X-ray if we wanted. She was not pushy. She just said we need peace of mind that it's not something else. She was right. Our little guy had bladder stones and one stuck in his urethrae. She called in the surgeon, Dr. Don Schmidt. He rearranged his schedule and got our boy straight in for surgery. We didn't have to take him someplace else or wait another day. That was so nice. He had his appointment at 2pm then surgery shortly afterwards and we had him in our arms by 6:30. I'm so impressed with them. Also, we asked for a refill from a previous vet on some anxiety medicine for him. Dr. Baker was like, no problem. She told us to order it through Chewy since they didn't have it in stock and we needed it quickly for the fireworks coming in a few days. She said she would take care of it on her end and give authorization to Chewy when they called. The only thing I was kind of disappointed about was the tension at the front desk when we checked out. There could have been better customer service there. But overall we were happy with the service and the amount of care from the vets. Update: When we got home a few hours later, our dog was wincing in pain. We gave him some of the meds the doctor gave us but he still winced terribly. We had to take him to the ER and leave him overnight to get a slow drip of pain meds. Update -2 weeks later- Midnight is doing so well. He seems like he has gotten two years knocked off his age. He's getting around like a spring chicken. We went back to get stitches out and the staff was excellent. The front desk staff took time to talk to me about my dogs, and Dr. Baker met with me and discussed what we need to do for Midnight going forward. She wrote it all down for me so I could look over my options. I am very pleased and will return. read more

I've used this hospital for 5 years and while I've historically been pleased, I feel like they have gone through significant turnover in the past year or so, of their front desk staff. Recently saw Dr Webb for my dog. First experience with her and she followed all my recommendations for testing. My dog ended up going to ER the next day and had to be admitted. No one from Good shepherd followed up with me the following week, even though the ER had sent them the hospitalization summary. On Tuesday, I called to tell the front desk my dog had not eaten anything g since at least Sunday, Requesting a vet call me to discuss options. She acted like I had asked her how to fly a plane--totally lost. I called again and spoke with someone at the front desk. This is now 4 days since my dog has not eaten and asked for a vet to call. This is now Thursday and not call from anyone! Very, very disappointing. read more

Reception staff was very rude and snippy. Unfriendly, condescending attitude. When I arrived, a bunch of staff seemed to just be hanging around 'chillin.' Was unclear who was actually working. The vet was nice. The few minutes with the vet was the only remotely OK part of the visit. The reason for the appointment wasn't even conveyed clearly from the Receptionist who took my call. She was one of the most absolutely worthless, stupid, customer service workers I've encountered in my entire life. Services way over typical market value/ cost for Oklahoma. Especially for the SHITTY SERVICE. I'd pay mote for better treatment. Never again. read more

My cat Loki had diarrhea for over a week, the vet's treatment that was recommended was basic and made perfect sense. Was never asked to have invasive and expensive tests that were not needed at this time. All the staff that I interacted with was friendly and professional. The BEST vet clinic I have been to. THEY TRULY CARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS and are TRULY KNOWLEDGEABLE! Last Xmas I had to ship my 2 cats to Hawaii because my family moved to Hawaii. Hawaii has very strict policy for imported pets and very complicated paperwork. I was super stressed out. But Dr. Long went above and beyond to make everything clear and easy for me. He did all the pre-travel examinations and treatments for my 2 cats. He also filled the forms and printed health certificates. He had his team to call my cats' previous vet clinic in Chicago and the lab in Kansas to make sure I have ALL the reports that I will possibly need. He also gave me very good advices in terms of how to make the trip easier for my cats. Our transition was surprisingly smooth and both cats arrived in Hawaii safely WITHOUT any quarantine! Brought her in but refused for the same vet that ignored the symptoms first time to see her again: Different vet listened to her and said concerned. FINALLY did x-rays and more blood work: was told $350.00 Found tumors and liquid in lungs: No hope but was given meds to help her eat : Not $350.00 but now $450.00 Took her someplace else and had her put down. I used Good Shepherd for the first time and it was to get my dog neutered. A friend of mine had been using them for a few months and really liked them so I decided to try them out as well. I'm so glad I did! Everyone was so nice and considerate of my feelings. The vet who did the neuter came out and talked to me and we had a very good conversation about everything. She made me feel comfortable in her skills and never once made me feel like I was being rushed or anything. My dog healed very well and no further treatment was needed. Their front desk staff are very kind and professional every time I call and I truly appreciate that. From the veterinarians to the front desk staff....everyone has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, caring and very helpful with anything I might need or questions that I ask. The building is very CLEAN, does NOT have an odor. The "waiting area" is very comfortable and well thought out with leather sofas, flat screen tv......parking is ample. It is easy to get in and out of. (Excellent location) and most important-Max, my lab is very comfortable there. They also have complimentary "dog treats" at the front desk. read more

Dr Long is my vet and has been since he opened. He is a teaching vet and takes time to explain all procedures and treatment options. He offers boarding and grooming as well. His staff is friendly and i can usually get an appointment fairly quick. I also like that Dr. long answers his email! I've also had Dr. Long put a pet to sleep. Great staff! Dr Long is amazing! Best vets in the Tulsa area! He is goes out of his way. If you email him online he usually gets back with you right away! He has cared for our pets since May 2013. I wouldn't trust them with another Vet! They are so understanding. They won't push things unless they are really needed. He helped me find a pet sitter after a very bad experience at a doggie day care! He really is the BEST!!! They are far from us now, but worth the extra distance! My wife and I took our new kitten here, entrusting Good Shepherd with care of our new little fur baby. The workers were all very nice at the front desk, and they assured use they would take great care of her, and they were right. We were updated as soon as her procedure was completed. We had to bring in a paper later in the day that we forgot to bring with initially, and they could see how much we missed our new little fuzz ball kitty. They offered to bring our cat out so we could say hello (she had to stay overnight to be monitored). We were able to talk to our kiddo as she glared at us angrily from behind her cone around her neck. It really warmed our hearts and put us at ease getting to see here, so we really appreciate the staff taking the time to do that for us. The next day we picked her up, and they called to check on her later and make sure everything was going well. If you're looking for a vet in the BA area, I would highly recommend this location. Very professional, friendly and clean with reasonable pricing. We're happy to have a place like this in our town. read more

We have been with Dr. Long since 2011 when he was at his previous location. He's grown into his current location at 61st and Lynn Lane. He's always been very informative and compassionate with all of our doggies, one of which he has had to euthanize when we were on vacation. He was so compassionate and explained all of our options. We love Good Shepard Vet! They have taken such great care of our English mastiff fur baby! We have been taking her there since we got her as a 6 week old puppy and the clinic has been great about her shots, reminders on what we need to do next (without unnecessary expense), and even getting her spayed a few weeks ago. They always call to check on her the day after they see her, which means so much and goes a long way. The facility is very nice and clean and the staff are amazing. read more

Have taken my two Shitz Shu twice to them to get them groomed, they need light sedation. First time they were so groggy, it took all night for the sedation to wear off. Second time, they had diarrhea for a week and cost $180.00.Also the grooming sucked. Never taking them back there sgain. read more

Staff is very friendly. Dr care is professional but their fees are abusive. One visit was charged $60.00 for an xray is standard but then to charge a fee to read the x-ray is rediculous. Another visit, Pet had a skin disorder, assistant said they would shave the 4" square area, charged us $25.00 to shave the area. Medicated shampoo $60.00. We had a $150.00 bill for a single visit to shave the dog and leave with shampoo? Insane. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting the very compassionate and competent staff at Good Shepherd recently. I had sweet cat that was my best friend for 10 years and he was diagnosed with end-stage Chronic Kidney Failure. I had to say goodbye to my friend due to his terminal condition. Dr Vickers, Dr Long and their entire staff were so helpful and compassionate. The staff made a special phone call to see how I was doing after my sweet boy was put to sleep. I love Good Shepherd Animal Hospital. I have rescues and one of my furbabies, Leah, got a mass growing on her leg and my vet in Muskogee did surgery and took it off. It immediately came back full force. I prayed for a good place in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area for a veterinary that would have more surgical experience and the VERY FIRST place the Google gave me was Good Shepherd. I love that they seem to be Christian based, by pictures on the walls, etc...long story short, The very next day I had appointment and I took Leah in for her exam and the mass tested to be malignant....her surgery was 5 years ago and she is still going strong! My daughter also takes her dog there too; he is vegan (he is so small that the veins to his liver are too small to digest animal proteins). read more
