They became our favorite vet, hands down. Dr. Murray is kind, compassionate, thorough, knowledgeable, and so very friendly. Molly had an ear infection that just evaded diagnosis. Dr. Murray suggested that we send a sample to an outside lab. While that cost a little bit, it resulted in a specific diagnosis and treatment plan that kicked the infection immediately thereafter. More recently, Molly developed a bladder issue which we tried to treat for several months without success. Dr. Murray never pushed us to do anything, but was reasonable and explanatory all the way. She had a growth in her bladder which was not shrinking despite a few different treatment approaches, and at over 13 years old, we weren't going to subject her to surgery. When the very sad day came to evaluate end of life, Dr. Murray was out, and Dr. Webb guided us through the process - again with absolutely no pressure either direction. It's impossible to imagine anyone being more compassionate or understanding at such a difficult time. We don't have enough good things to say about her, as well as their vet tech (also Molly) that day. My wife and I still miss our little pup Molly (me especially). After it was over, Good Shepherd sent the nicest sympathy card signed by all their staff, along with two little sheets of paper with our Molly's front paw prints on them. What a beautiful thing to do. This review would not be complete without mention of the financial side. Veterinary medicine these days is not cheap! But Good Shepherd was very reasonable at all times. The cost of any extra check and the external labs was always made known to us beforehand. And Dr. Murray even called around to find the lowest cost option for a couple of medications! I believe their charges were more reasonable than any vet we've used before them. I notice their office has 5.0 stars on Google, for 33 ratings. There's a reason for that! I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I saw no improvement over several weeks, and was thinking he had a neurological issue because he kept shaking his head. I called back, and this time I was told that my daughter had refused treatment. My daughter stated that she was never told that he needed any other treatment and absolutely would not have refused. She was under the impression that the charge was for the treatment, just as I was. The reason I tend to believe her is that they told me he was treated when he was not. In addition, before learning that the ear had not been treated, I requested an estimate for the dental work he needed. The estimate was approx. $1600- $2100. I DID refuse that plan, and found another vet that estimated $600-$800. Don't you just LOVE it when businesses respond by telling the unhappy customer to reach out to THEM after a negative review? They had their chance to apologize and fix things, but they attempted to blame the customer instead. They know I will never reach out because why on earth would I ever deal with their business again?

When we had to make the most difficult decision to put down our 17 year old, Tigger after he was suffering through kidney failure, they were so very concerned about us and extremely compassionate to Tigger when the time came. They actually cried with us and provided lots of support and hugs. They even took care of sending Tigger to a great place to be cremated. A couple days after we were so appreciative to receive Tigger's paw print in a lovely velvet bag, a card signed by all the staff, phone calls to see how we were doing. After a month without our Tigger, we adopted 3 rescue kitties. One, Rigby in 2009. He's 12 now and is in need of a full tissue biopsy procedure. Of course we're worried but we have the upmost trust in the doctors. Dr. Zinn, Dr. O'Cain to provide Rigby with a comprehensive caring surgery. Dr. Palmer is a great addition to the staff. They are the best in their field, bar none! One of our other kitties, Meija had kidney stones that required surgery and later a tooth extraction. She is doing great although she needs to go twice a week for fluids which they lovingly care for Meija and have developed a sweet relationship with her. She is thriving with their care. Our Eleanor seems to be in good health with yearly check up's and vaccinations. If she should have any problems we know she will be taken care of. We feel like family with the doctors, techs and support staff. They truly are gifts to any cat parents

I made an appointment for all our animals as a new patient and they took all of the information I had for all three over the phone. appointment time came around and they had no idea who we were and were going to send us away until I showed them the confirmation for the appointment. they did not have my email for the animals history which I made vital that they were aware of. I asked the dr if he looked at the history that was provided to which he said yes. come to find out that it was only for one not the other one. I provided this information twice and it still wasn't considered. I made it clear before the appointment that I did not want any shots to be done early and since no one bothered to review one of my babies history then they did. it doesn't hurt them no, but I painstakingly for years offset their shots little by little to ensure it was spread out for financial reason. and all that effort was taken away due to squeezing us in from an office failure and failing to review the history and requests of me urging them to only give shots that are currently due. now they are on the same shot schedule bc one was given shots they didn't need several months sooner than what was needed. 2/10

We have loved every doctor we have had here and I would trust OVS with any of my pets. Since the majority of negative reviews are regarding pricing and wait times - it should be expected that an emergency/surgical based clinic will have higher prices and longer wait times than a primary care veterinarian. You are paying/waiting for specialized/emergency/surgical care. They do have financing options available as well. In short: don't let their online ratings deter you from bringing your pets to OVS. Mr. Charlie decided it was a trip to the ER in this miserable heat yesterday, after dinner last…read morenight. So, after the hubby got home from work, and we had a quick dinner, we were on the road to the emergency vet. Charlie had been yacking(for lack of a better term) in the afternoon in the hallway near our bedroom(putting me on back cleam up detail). And after one of his yacks have a Pink tinge to it, that was it and a trip to the vet. Once we got there and checked in, they came out and got him for vitals, then put us in a room, where we waited(Thankfully we know where the coffee is there). After a bit a member of the team who tracks history and relays info back to the dr(who was in surgery with another patient) came in and got more info from us. While we waited we watched a bit of TV and played on our phones. After a bit of that, then the coffee started. After about our second cup for the evening/early morning, the dr came in and we discussed what was going on with Charlie. She said basically, he came back with a clean bill of health, and it was stumping her what was going on. They did some xray, gave him a anti-nausea shot, and sent home meds with us. She said if he pukes through the meds given, then back to the ER he would come. But, she also recommended an internest within their group that specializes with feline internal medicine to follow up with, if the episodes were to continue. After having that discussion and the discussion of what to do at home, we finally were released about 1 am(we had gone in around 7 pm), and got home about 2 am. We are eternally grateful for the staff and Dr's on shift, thst helped us with our senior furbaby. It made for a smooth visit. Thank you Dr.Vingeron(Dr V- hopefully i spelled the ladt name correctly, my apologies if not.) for taking the time to explain things where we could understand things during the goofy hour of the day(after midnight). But if your furbaby is in distress, this is the staff to go see. Thanks again.
