This clinic is still providing excellent, compassionate vet care. My cat has been doing well with the regimen prescribed by Dr. Schultz. He was given anywhere from 1 month to a year to live by a different vet around 4 years ago now. We cherish every extra day we get with him due to the meds and oversight of the vets at this clinic. It should be noted that the vet techs and front desk are always kind, personable, and knowledgeable. This clinic has the feel of a tight-knit, small business and it shows in how wonderful all of the employees are to each other and to the animals and families in their care. Recently, we had meds for our cat donated by a family who had just lost their dog. To whoever that was, thank you so much and I am deeply sorry for your loss. On November 11 , 2021, I called your after hour Emergency telephone number. I had a situation with my fur baby. My baby was in acute distress. She was whining, shaking and breathing extremely rapid. I Called your center. I received a pick-up of the call. I was told the doctor was on an emergency and was not available. But to hold on and a nurse would pick up. I waited and waited no one picked up. No one ever picked up. I hung up and called back. I called four times with the same results. I believe Lauren was on call that night. Lauren called me back the next day to follow-up with my concerns. Long story short. I was extremely upset of how my issues was handled. I'm in the medical field. I understand "emergencies, priorities, and trauma. The PROBLEM: VCA South referred me to you . I was never able to connect e we you. Since I was never able to connect with your facility or have the information to: go to your emergency room, I was left with no alternative. SOLUTION: The voicemail SHOULD have voiced that the information m/ "we are sorry we cannot pick up this call. We are extremely busy taking care of other emergencies. Please bring your fur animal to our emergency facility. We are here to take care of your needs. I was very upset with this entire situation. I called my VCA. I spoke with their office manager today. I explained my issue with this incident . I was advised to communicate the problem with the office manager.. I have been dealing with VCA from Florida, around the country and now Tulsa. I have always been extremely pleased with their service as very exceptional. I told them, this incident puts a negative effect, on their business, they refer your business for emergencies. If you are not able to provide a service, you should not be advertising as such. I hope you are able to heed this advise and improve the " so called"services you claim to provide. I treat my Beagles like two more kids; they are loved and spoiled rotten. I had a wonderful vet in Houston so I was hesitant about finding a new one in Tulsa. No hesitation was needed as Veterinary Associates are on top of their game. First, the front desk gals are super friendly, both in person and on the phone. They greeted my dogs like they were old friends. Dr. Martin was a dream. So personable, explained what shots my dogs needed to stay up-to-date, and welcomed me to Tulsa with open arms (literally). We just moved into the neighborhood and Veterinary Associates came highly recommended. We've taken Rabi to see Dr. K already for a foot problem and we love her but today was amazing. This dog does NOT like to have his nails trimmed. I've seen him try to bite our former vet and various other groomers over the years. Since he no longer walks every day, his nails have gotten quite long. I've been trying to dremmel them myself but it was really slow going with him trembling the entire time like I was trying to kill him. Yes, he also tried to bite me the first time I did it. Finally, we decided to have the professionals do it since the dremmeling was taking so long and we learned that the quick can grow longer into the nails. I swear we were in and out of there in 3 minutes. It was so fast and he came out very happy. Magic, it was magic! Thank you Veterinary Associates. I have four beautiful cats. We've been patients of Veterinary Associates for a couple of years now. Our introductions were in emergency circumstances, as my sweet 5 month old kitten was very ill and almost didn't make it. They worked with us in every way, and you wouldn't believe the amazement of the staff when my sweet Katana made it through her illness. It took a lot of work, but it absolutely would not have happened if they hadn't been there, walking me through it, and helping us every step of the way. They truly made me feel their joy as we marveled together over her survival. Since then we've had a number of visits, and we are treated as family, not just numbers on a screen. Every visit is personal, and our cats are treated as beloved members of the family as well. I am forever grateful to this group of people, and their commitment to the welfare of our animals. Wow! This place rocks my dogs socks off. My dog loves Dr. Shane Murray. He has treated her heart worms and has recently spayed her. His love for animals shines through his personality and I can tell that he genuinely cares for my dog. He always calls to check up on her which I really like. Now that I've been there myself I can say no matter where I move in the Tulsa area I will be coming here! Incredibly friendly staff. Dr. Harl was fantastic! She asked us to come back a couple days later so she could check up on him and didn't charge at all for that visit. EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE especially with COVID. We're new to Tulsa. I am a helicopter mom to two high maintenance chihuahuas and was very pleased with VA from the start. Shawn understood my anxiety at trusting 'strangers' with my babies. Despite COVID measures, the VA staff made me and my two guys feel very comfortable and secure. What a relief after initially trying a corporate vet (Woodland West) who were completely insensitive to my need to make sure that her animals were with trusted and loving professionals. Kudos or VA and all other businesses that are going out of their way to understand their clients' needs instead of spewing a bunch of corporate policies that make it clear they could care less about anything except the payment. Thank you Shawn, Dr. Arsola and your staff for welcoming us and giving me peace of mind. BTW, the prices are entirely normal for good quality care. I've been taking my dogs to VA for years. I trust the doctors and the treatment options they offer. I've never had a bad experience with the doctors at VA through the years unless it was something over which they had no control, such as a pet's death. That's not their fault! They have always treated me with compassion in such situations (two pet deaths over the past 17 years) and even have sent cards and a plant one time to commemorate our pet's passing. In treating my current dogs, they have always spent the necessary time to explain procedures and treatment options. They are super! read more

Overall attitude around the clinic is great! Very nice people. Doctors have always been heartwarming and helpful. As well as the techs and kennel staff. It seems to give off a great environment any time I've visited. Always loved taking my dogs there. As for the bad, I have heard from a former employee as soon as the corporation of NVA took over the employee bonuses (even Christmas bonuses) were scrapped. As well, overtime is highly frowned upon even if it's not your fault due to understaffing and working after hours. The effect from the excess of overtime the clinic as a whole is punished and receives no raises as well as no yearly employee review. I've worked at smaller clinics that are more employee driven so bonuses and raises are the norm. Taking care of the employees first is a must in my opinion. So to wrap this up, I would not recommend working there if you are looking to go up in pay. It seems it would be a great summer job opportunity for your kid if he or she enjoys animals. Definitely not something long term. But, I would recommend taking your pet there! They take amazing care of them every step of the way through any treatment. read more

I wouldn't take my dog babies anywhere else! I've been going to Vet Associates for many, many years and two of my dear sweet babies took their last breaths there. I can tell you that they are the most caring people I have ever met as they not only sent me a card with heartfelt messages but flowers as well. They truly are invested heart and soul in their patients and it is apparent every day you walk in the door. The girls up front are the best. I've never walked in the front door when I haven't been welcomed with a big smile and a kind word and they are always eager to help, whether it's hauling extra dog food out to the car or helping me with my dad's elderly dog out to the car when I have my younger and extremely active dog. Marlene, the groomer is also wonderful. She's done a fabulous job on all my dogs and has worked them in when I was in a bind. Finally, I've had the pleasure with working with Drs. Smith, Evans and Dr. K and all are experts in their professions and very compassionate. That compassion doesn't stop with just your pets as they are just as interested in what's going on with you and your family. They truly go above and beyond any other facility of this type I've ever gone to and that's why I would highly recommend them - I know I will never leave. read more

We are also new to the area and unsure that we would be able to find a new vet that we liked as well as the one where we used to live. So far we have had three appointments there and are happy we chose them. They show the same care for your pet as they do their own. Staff and Dr. Murray are great. They listen well to your concerns and take the time to be sure you are well informed. Remy usually has to be sedated to have his nails trimmed, but they were creative and got the job done drug free. One appointment we had was a semi-emergency and they got him in right away. I would not hesitate to bring my pet to this office. read more
