Mike was our DJ at Lake Oak Meadows. Things started out fine, but he quickly became one of the biggest stress points of our entire wedding. After our initial call, communication nearly disappeared -- multiple emails went unanswered, promises went unfulfilled, and we only received responses when we texted or called. The day before the wedding, we called to finally get answers after being left hanging on several key details. He was initially dismissive and defensive until we explained how much had fallen through, at which point he checked his inbox and saw how many times we'd reached out for help. Even after that conversation, on the day itself, he failed to play songs we'd flagged as must-haves, didn't edit the father-daughter dance as promised, and gave attitude to our guests -- something we're still hearing about weeks later. His lack of professionalism stood out sharply among an otherwise incredible lineup of vendors. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed. read more

Shawn Chidester from Good Time entertainment was amazing!! He sent a really easy to fill out spreadsheet well before the wedding, so we knew all the spaces we needed to pick songs for and had plenty of time to do so. He was responsive and gave great advice when asked. Day of the wedding, he kept everything going smoothly without rushing. He made sure what we wanted was met without buggin'. Most importantly, he was really fun!! Side note: because of an illness, I couldn't dance very long for our first dance and father daughter dance. Mike was recently the DJ for our wedding at Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula, CA. While we were initially a little unsure of what we would get as the DJ was provided by the venue, we came to find out there was a reason why they use him! Because he is awesome! While in the midst of all the wedding planning and indecision along the way the song lists for our wedding got pushed back to the very end. So much so, that Mike was still communicating with my wife late into the night the night before our wedding to finalize the songs we wanted! We were very impressed with this as it was our own indecision that created this issue but Mike worked with us and offered advice all the way through until we finalized the song lists. The day of the wedding the volume of the ceremony was perfect as everyone could hear clearly, but nothing was too loud either. Mike followed this up by hosting a great cocktail hour while were were away taking our pictures! As we were preparing for the grand entrance, he came over and asked us if we wanted to include some of the slower songs that had been requested (we put a line for song requests on our RSVPs) during the dinner playlist, as we had so many requests that he wouldn't be able to fit them in otherwise! It was these examples of attention to detail that really set Mike apart! Ultimately Mike did an amazing job guiding both us and our guests through our big day! Like most people I was skeptical about having a DJ automatically apart of the venue package. I thought picking my own DJ would be better but honestly having Good Time Entertainment relieved some stress. It was one less thing to worry about. I also thought after the Day of Coordinator (DOC) left that my husband and I would feel load but Honestly Mike had the rest of the night handled. Let me start by saying Mike was a man of his word. No matter how many emails I sent him requesting songs both my wife and I want to have played at our wedding, and there were A LOT, he made sure that he got to them before taking or playing them before any requests. We got tons of compliments during our reception as to how well of a job he was doing and people loved his set up with the DJ booth featuring a TV screen that played music videos along with the song that was playing at the time. He also worked well with our vendors when our videographer needed to get sound for her camera he allowed her to plug right into his speakers so she could capture the moments. We used Good Time Entertainment to MC/DJ our recent wedding reception and cocktail hour. Mike came recommended to us by the venue (Ponte). We found his pricing to be consistent with other similar services in this popular wedding location. I suppose we could have shopped for a better price - although we ultimately felt like we got a great return on our investment. Payments were easily made on their secure website. One of the reasons we selected Good Time Entertainment was they offered music and lighting - giving us one point of contact. We used both up-lights and pin-lighting - the reception area absolutely popped! We are now starting to get back our wedding photos and the lights really add a nice dimension and backdrop in the pictures. I will admit there was little communication between Mike and I prior to the reception. What communication we did have was via email. Was I a bit nervous on the wedding day that things would not go off well? Maybe just a little. In retrospect, Mike is a true professional and while I may have been concerned he would not be prepared by our big day, HE MOST CERTAINLY WAS! He was very ENGAGING prior to and during the reception. He honored our requests, and knew how to manage the mood of the reception and stay on our requested time line. He started in our family by doing my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, and it's all been uphill from there! Was always flexible on meeting times, emailed us back within 24 hours and was prepared every time we met. He knows what questions to ask you to get things started incase you aren't sure. The day of, he was on time, dressed professionally and his set up is perfect. His new DJ booth has a video screen on it so we got to give him pictures to play during the evening which is a very personal touch. Our wedding was held at Lake Oak Meadows (LOM) on 10/27/12 and our DJ was Mike from Good Time Entertainment. I was concerned about the fact that LOM requires you to use their DJ. I thought that since it was a sure gig, he wouldn't care as much about our reception. I could not have been more wrong. Mike was AWESOME! I gave him a huge playlist of song titles and artists and I switched out a few (including the father/daughter dance) just a few days before the wedding. He called two days before to confirm that he found every single song on my playlist. We also threw a bunch of last minute things on him including two slideshows (one on the TVs inside the dance floor and the other on a screen outside during toasts) as well as a separate 6-minute video. We have been to so many weddings where the technology failed or something wouldn't play, but Mike pulled it all off seamlessly. I was so impressed with the effort that he put into making sure we had the correct song order and how smoothly he transitioned from the slideshow to the video. All the sound quality was great. Mike did a really good job at making sure to play to whatever crowd was on the dance floor at the time, so that they were more inclined to keep dancing longer. I think he may have actually gotten in every song on my list and he made sure to include the ones that we told him were "must haves." He also did an awesome job with our send off! We did our last dance on the dock with the music playing outside. Then we walked through our little "tunnel" of guests blowing bubbles and got into our "getaway car." It was such a gorgeous send off and we could not have done it without Mike's help and coordination. He is a total pro and really wonderful to work with. I highly recommend him! read more
