Having grown up in Niagara Falls, it was the norm to have 'pizzerias' on every corner of the city, great food. Once I moved, I noticed pretty quickly that pizzerias are pretty much non-existent outside of the Niagara area. So you could imagine my excitement when I passed a place in Courtice called Goodfellas Pizzeria. Could this be? An actual pizzeria? Had to check it out... As soon as I walked in I was very optimistic. The place had a classic pizzeria atmosphere, complete with checkered table clothes, white walls, red/orange paint trim, big mirrors, open kitchen in the back, stone pizza oven, TV to watch the hockey games and more... It was a Friday night so we ordered the large pizza 3 item special. And when they say large, they mean LARGE, like the old pizzeria days. Pizza was great, I was not disappointed. The crust was excellent, great flavour. Between the food and the atmosphere it was a great experience. The only cons I saw were that they used a very strong pepperoni which slightly overpowered the pizza a bit, but that's just me. Also they have chicken wings, but they only offered baked, which is fine but I prefer deep fried. Otherwise Goodfellas is awesome, definitely worth a try and I plan on going back soon!!! read more

Pretty f decent pizza place in the area it's in. It's good and unique without trying too hard and failing. It's feels timeless but I do wish it was more modern. They are coasting. First the good: the Greek salad was fantastic. On the other hand the pizza was worse than a frozen box pizza. The dough was sweet and chewy (we ordered it thin crust and well done too), the pepperoni was huge (Brooklyn style) and gross. The boneless chicken wings were tasteless and must have been cooked from frozen and not freshly prepared there. I ordered the Family combo (2 x XL w/two toppings) and they don't sub. I asked for one topping on one and three and the other as I have already paid for it and was told no! The combo also included a 2L pop that I was told to take at room temperature. I asked for a cold one and they said they didn't have one. They fridge only accommodated cans and small bottles. This is a horrible place and I will never go back and frankly can't believe it has stayed in business. The people that give it 4 and 5 stars clearly have never had pizza or good service ever before. read more

Courtice finally has a pizzeria worthy of ordering from! These guys are new and working on building better exposure, but they know pizza. We ordered a couple of their medium pizza specials and were pleasantly surprised. The dough has a great consistency and it's clear that it's fresh and made in house. The sauce is their own with a unique hinted flavouring to it (that I'll let you discover for yourself). I liked it, but didn't love it. However my wife and kids DID love it! We added a small Caesar salad, and it was probably sufficient for 2 people. We should have ordered the large because my kids devoured it! Delivery was quick and pizza was hot. Believe the reviews. I ordered a medium peperoni and spicy sausage pizza and drove 40 minutes round-trip to try this place out and was not disappointed. In my opinion, it's their sauce that truly separates their pies from any competition. It tastes like it's made from an old family recipe and we're all lucky to have it bestowed upon us. Ordered take-out Can barely see the toppings I ordered: chicken, hot peppers and tomatoes Plenty of cheese which was delicious but hardly any tomato sauce underneath Busy place so it took about 30 mins (although I ordered on the phone and took me 10 mins to get there) then another 30 to wait. Delicious pizza but I would prefer my toppings not to be minced. We were searching for the toppings under the cheese lol Bigger pieces would be better if they choose to put them under the cheese. Also, chicken is mixed. Dark and white meat. I prefer white meat. Even though it was a good pizza, I wouldn't order from them again which is why I gave it a 3 star. I prefer Pizza Nova. They aren't cheap with their toppings and its full of flavour. Pizza Hut as well. Much better. read more

I have been going to Goodfella's since they opened and the only time i have been disappointed is when the cooked pizza dough ball in the middle of the pizza wasn't there when i opened it. The salads have always been awesome as well. The toppings are put under a layer of cheese and it always seems like you get extra cheese when you order compared to other pizza places. I have never had any issues with rude staff and the owner has always greeted me and said hi from the back whenever he sees me. read more

THE MOST OBNOXIOUS STAFF I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I'll never go back. While visiting family ordered four pizzas to go and wasn't told about their Friday night special (3 free items when you purchase one on a large) even though I had asked if they had any specials over the phone. When I asked about this they claimed they couldn't add the items (which, as a former pizza chef, I know is the easiest thing in the world to do) and more than one obnoxious young employee started telling me it would burn the pizza and actually cost me more. I asked them to add them and reheat the pizza and they still wouldn't claiming it would burn the pizzas which were undercooked already. They also didn't offer a discount on the pizzas I had ordered. This is the best pizza place in the Courtice area by far. It's a very homestyle made with love kind of deal. The toppings are good quality, the sauce is very tasty. My one complaint would be it's a bit pricey however you certainly get what you pay for! Which is a great pizza! read more

I'm writing an angry complaint! I live in a fairly affluent area in Whitby Ontario. You'd think I could find a decent hand made, fresh ingredient pizza in Durham without needing to go to Toronto. Well up until Goodfellas opened that just wasn't true. So I've finally found a quality pizza I can get relatively locally. I still need to hit the highway for about 10 minutes each way. I need a Goodfellas location to expand to Whitby but until they do I will begrudgingly make the trek to Courtice for real hand made quality pizza every time, Instead of settling for huge chain franchised cardboard. Can you believe Dominoes is now advertising hand made crust as a selling point? Apparently they feel we are so used to such bad quality that they can win us over with a practice that all pizza parlours should be doing already, and that Goodfellas was built on as standard operating procedure. Well done Goodfellas for putting Italian quality back into Durham's pizza options! read more

I had driven by Goodfellas a bunch of times on my way home from work. I made a promise to myself that I would try it out some day. One night when my girlfriend was working late, I checked online to notice a whole bunch of great reviews. Enough was enough, I decided to go in and see what all the fuss was about.. I'm sorry. I'm sorry it took me so long to come in. Wow! I was absolutely blown away. Right when I walked in the door, I was greeted by friendly staff. I asked the gentleman at the counter what they offered for meat lovers and he explained the toppings and portions based on size. By the way, it's pepperoni, sausage and bacon and it's now my favourite. Next, I asked about a Margherita. The young man was honest and said he wasn't sure what their version was as he hadn't made one yet. So he brought over the owner to explain their version of the Margherita and he also told me that they will be looking to add variations to it down the road. I placed my order, paid and waited while the pizzas cooked. It really didn't take long at all and when they were done, the young lady who cut the slices showed me the Margherita and the smell when she spend the box...I won't forget how amazing it smelled. The basil, oregano, onions..euphoric! I thanked them for everything and I said that I would come back to tell them how the Margherita turned out. I have absolutely every intention of returning to tell them how fantastic their product is. I was given a take out menu which had more delicious items from garlic bread to bruschetta, wings, baked pasta and more. They even had a cooler with various types of soft drinks (both common and some rare drinks) including my favourite, Brio! If you're on the fence about Goodfellas Pizzeria, I hope this review coerces you to try it at least once. I recommend the meat lovers pizza and after being a longtime customer of the franchise pizza places, I'll be back to Goodfellas. It's great for both families and wise guys! read more

We've ordered from Goodfellas several times and their pizza is fresh and delicious with excellent choices for toppings. Highly recommend the meatball sub, but stay away from the wings. They are breaded and must come from frozen. They are poor quality. Overall though, they are a pizza place and that part of it is excellent. read more

I recently moved to the area and made it a point to try out every pizza restaurant that I could find within a 15-20 min drive. There's no doubt in my mind that this is at the top if my list. The toppings are fresh and plentiful, sauce is great, cheese is stringy and delicious. Beyond that, the service is alway great when it comes to delivery and in person.
