We had criteria, reasonable pricing, rights to the photos, and no time limit charging.... Not only does Tallen cover all of that... They went ABOVE and BEYOND! Right off the bat the inquiry email was replied to with a friendly demeanor. No cut and paste "here's our pricing" forms. We got TWO photographers, which is awesome because while one is taking posed photos, the other is snapping candid photos (those always make for great photos.) The price was awesome! Both photographers were professional, fun, happy to be there, and creative with posing. They were patient and not once did my family feel like they were rushing us. The photos are amazing!!!!! We had a long list of shots and poses we wanted, and they made sure every photo was covered the way we wanted it to be done. My family is one that isn't picky with things, but when they find someone or something they love we stick with it. EVERY family member commented even days later that they will use Tallen Photography for every event from now on.

This company is so old fashioned it's completely out of touch with the modern day. They, as a…read morephotographer myself so I understand the concerns better than most, are so overwhelmingly concerned with "protecting their copyright" that they are pigeonholing themselves into providing archaic packages. No digital prints? lol. What is this? 1997? Phyllis is so worried that offering preschool parents digital proofs is going to let people undermine their copyright, that they fail to provide any digital proof options. She offered to send me low resolution proofs, lol, hilarious... yeah I want a 320x240 rez thumbnail, that's super helpful. For families trying to send photos to family on the internet, we have to scan them ourselves *gasp* and defy their copyright which will still be emblazoned in all glory through their FUGLY watermark they plaster all over every one of their prints anyway. I'll probably use generative fill to remove that dumb crap and send away. Oh but I'm sure their lawyers will be clamoring to find out who I am to sue me for copyright infringement over being a parent who wants to share photos with family on the internet. The funniest part is people still want both hard and digital prints In their packages, so all that MLP is doing is leaving money on the table by not offering this. I wouldn't even care to review this weren't it for Phyllis and her trash attitude and poor customer service. I wasn't impressed that this company doesn't even care to take the time to do basic touch ups on their school photos. It takes literally two seconds to do basic blemish touch ups. They just want to collect their money and move on to the next school.

They don't offer a printable digital copy for purchase (just low resolution images) I'm sure so they can gouge you with their print prices. Ordered prints on September 24th and was given a ship date of November 14. That date came and went. It's been 2 months now since I ordered. I was hoping to at least have them by thanksgiving. When I inquired about it, I was told "next week sometime". Still waiting...... Avoid this place and their price gouging at all costs if you can.

Despite being depressed that it took my husband 10 minutes to find our photographer after I looked for weeks, almost immediately after looking at Michael's website we knew that we had found our photographer. Michael's work was excellent. Sure, there were a couple of shots that in retrospect I would have liked and there are a few shots where I'm disappointed that there was something in the background that shouldn't have been. However, he perfectly captured the day--from getting ready, to some portraits, to taking shots of the sunset and storm. We really wanted a photographer that wouldn't take over the day and evening. Michael listened to that, and he was a personable fly on the wall all evening. He joked with us during portraits, making them tolerable, and then let the rest of the evening happen organically. He took multiple candids throughout the event that still make me smile every time I look at them. He took a nice mix of black-and-white and color photographs and took some "artsy" photos as well. I would highly recommend Michael Nesmith for events and portraits. He was is a professional, highly talented photographer with a great eye. The wedding package we selected had everything we wanted and was extremely reasonable. He had the photos back to us within a few weeks and even apologized for the delay (although I don't think 2 weeks is a long time to wait). I was very particular about the style of photos that I liked, and Michael's pictures stood out. During the interview he brought tons of wedding albums (all different kinds and at different price ranges), a folder with example pictures and his package price breakdown and more importantly, he showed me weddings from start to finish. He went to school for photography and specializes in black & white photos (which are beautiful). I was looking for brightly colored photos, but to have a photographer who can do both and do them very well is great. And he is really organized, while he goes around doing table pictures, he will hand out cards (which have the bride & groom's pics) with the website where your wedding pictures will be displayed. Even though he lives in NH, he will gladly come into Boston to meet with you and he will travel anywhere for your wedding. He is very accomodating and is quick to respond over email - which is a very important quality in your photographer. I liked him immediately. He also has really great packages for even the budget bride which include a CD with all the high-def pictures. I will need to write a review once the wedding is over, but I have a great feeling about him.
