We wanted to wait a year before we reviewed Henry to make sure he wasn't one of those real estate agents who disappears when the deal is done and follows up every year with a pre-printed holiday card or a refrigerator magnet with their face on it. I can say confidently that not only is Henry a great resource for information, but he also really went beyond the scope of his work many times throughout the whole home buying process. We had multiple properties in different locations throughout the Maryland area and he really did the homework and understood each property before each viewing. As we are planning to purchase our next property Henry has been fantastic throughout the year fielding our questions and even keeping us abreast on new developments. The first time I joined this office in 2015 when I started my real estate career after just giving birth to twins, it took me 8 months to make my first sale. By that point, the Broker acted towards me like she hated me, because I was one of those non-selling agents in the office. I remember attending a BBQ party that she hosting for agents at a nearby park, with my infants in tow, and she gave me stares like a dagger and showed me that I wasn't even welcome to the food. If it wasn't for the other agents who were all so extremely nice to me and my kids, I would have left. Fast forward, I stuck with the office and became a top selling agents and also became her darling. She would tell me that she "adores" me and treated me, and even my children, when I would bring them to the office, like royalty (she highly dislikes babies like she is allergic to them). Eventually, I left the office, they kept almost all of the commission for a sale that I made before leaving and that was paid after I left. I made the mistake to come back to them recently, as an agent, because I did not want to pay the $50 a month at Samson Properties. Little did I know, Long and Foster now charges several hundreds to the agent's credit card, as "E&O insurance" every month. After I saw the charges for a couple of months, I cancelled that credit card and reached out to the broker, who told me to deactivate my license if I don't want them to charge me. I did exactly that and a few months later, I was contacted by a collections agency for about $350, which they had attempted to charge to my card unsuccessfully. Unless you are an extremely top selling agent, please do not join this office and do not join Long and Foster in general. I have clients who are extremely attached to me as an agent but say that the only thing giving them pause to work with me is the office I was affiliated to (Long and Foster). They charged buyers and sellers a ton too, compared to other Brokers. Do yourself a favor and go hang your license elsewhere.
