I'd say the quality is pretty good, BUT this reviewer is all about UNIQUE, RARE, and AWESOME goods, services, and food. This place has solid wood doors from Europe that are simply amazing. Sure they range $10.000 and you have to pay for expensive delivery, but they are quality, and really unique. Just amazing pieces are of art that you can have as a door. read more

I GOT BILLED three times in two months took two weeks to get hold of these people they have two companies you dealing with phones you can't get threw. Got ahold of the better business bureau they don't no who they are they sending letters two both. Finally got ahold of them told them they cashed my check they gave me bunch crab. They wanted get in my bank account noway so if you want to buy furniture go to legit company. Was an amazing experience. Had read some reviews. Was kinda skeptical. Walked in and told immediately Dave was on his way to help us out. Thought oh boy here we go. Dave was amazing. Perfect salesman. Very professional and zero pressure whatsoever. Balanced himself perfectly on being there to help us but giving us our freedom to browse around and not feel pressured. Told him what we had researched and what we had liked so far and within 5 min he had us the perfect setup. We were actually sold and had found something so much better and such a fair price compared to all the other shopping we did within 10 min of being in the store. We actually ended up spending a couple more hours just enjoying the peacefulness and checking everything out. Then we went to pay and had awesome interactions with the lady ending the transaction. Was actually hilarious. We went to "say goodbye" to the couch we just got and it was already gone because they had loaded it up. Ended up buying one more piece of the collection solely because of the interaction we had with Dave and the other girl that closed us out. I hate buying stuff but can't wait to come back and deal with them again. Well done. 100/10 for Dave. (I don't even want to say how fast it was delivered because it would be unfair to expect how amazing this went but all I will say is it's been delivered and was the best delivery service we've ever experienced and those guys were top notch. This was a big box furniture store like we've never seen. Good's probably covers over 225,000 square feet of floor space spread across at least two, three-story buildings in downtown Kewanee, Illinois. The two, three-story buildings are across the street from each other, so Good's put in a enclosed walkway vaulting over the street to facilitate your visit. Pretty neat. They have loads of free parking so that should not be a concern, and when we entered we were welcomed by someone who offered to walk us over to what we wanted to see. Anyway we had driven out here to look at their furniture selection, especially their collection of Canadel Furniture. We were pleased with the variety and selection, and spent a long time working our way through the displays - Canadel and others. As luck would have it, we did not purchase anything that day - but did make our way down to the basement restaurant that was also a 4 star experience. While getting to Kewanee may be a bit of a drive for you, it is a pleasant one and the store certainly lives up to its hype. Lots of furniture, loads of selections, welcoming employees, and a very nice restaurant to visit before you return home. Recommended. read more

I found a Kincaid-brand dresser online from Good's Furniture in Kewanee, Illinois. I decided to purchase the dresser (over the phone) and paid half of the purchase price $735.00 so the dresser could be ordered. My sales person was Hope. She emailed the contract for me to sign and then sent me an electronic copy of my invoice and sales receipt. Easy transaction. A few days later I receive a letter in my mailbox from Good's Furniture. It's a hard copy of an invoice & receipt, but it's not my invoice & receipt, it belongs to someone else. It has all of that person's information, full name, address, phone number, details of what they ordered and a copy of the sales receipt with the last 4 digits of that person's credit card. I call the store and the operator tells me that I am not in their computer system. Good's Furniture charged $735.00 to my credit card but I don't exist in their system...I am appalled and the operator doesn't say anything. I have to ask for my sales person, Hope. Hope is not there. I ask for the store manager. The operator doesn't get the store manager instead she transfers me to the office. That's when I learn that my invoice & receipt MUST have been sent to someone else. Another customer has my invoice and sales receipt with all of my personal data and the last 4 digits of my credit card number. That is just Great! My information has been officially breached and the only person alarmed is ME. The office manager at Good's explained to me that while this was a mistake, they are human and make mistakes and that when this happens they simply contact other customers and find the scrambled invoices and receipts and re-send to the correct customer. So this has happened before! Wow! Today I get another letter in the mailbox from Good's Furniture, they have sent me a $25 gift card for my next purchase (with a hand-written apology but it was not signed.) $25? What am I supposed to do with $25? I don't plan to shop at this store again. Once I get my Kincaid dresser delivered I don't plan to shop at Good's Furniture again. The $25 gift card has not change my feelings towards this company, basically it says "hey come back and spend more money at our store." They should offer me one-year of credit monitoring and give me free delivery on my dresser ($89) and give me 25% off on my dresser purchase, now that would establish goodwill and also EASE my mind about my data being breached. Lesson learned here, stick with what you know Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn...they would never have treated this mistake as such a cavalier event. Oh well "Live it, Learn it." Right? WOW! What a huge place. 3.5, so I rounded up. Seeking furnishings for the new house, we headed out here to take a look around. Now you won't find everything by a particular manufacturer, but there is a great variety of items. The store is broken into different manufacturers and covers 2-3 city blocks, and is three stories tall. The employees we found there were all quite friendly and helpful; Rob Finney in particular helped us for quite a while during the two visits we made there during the weekend. We spent approximately 5 hours wandering the store, looking at the offerings of each manufacturer. I never thought I'd buy a recliner - a leather one, at that! - but a visit to the Flexsteel floor may have changed my mind. One thing that was kind of a bummer was that they don't have the software or capability to view a piece of furniture in different fabrics. I'm not sure if it's because there's not internet access on the computers around the store or not... but it seems to be a glaring service gap in a furniture store as huge as this one. I'll likely order my Rowe Piccadilly & Caren chairs from here, but it's really a bummer that I have to come back home and use my computer to see what it'll look like because they can't show me there. On the other hand, a big plus is their delivery. Delivery to Chicago is $119 ($99 if you have over $2,000 worth of furniture delivered), which is the same amount that Thomasville in Lincolnshire will charge for a 30 minute drive. I like it when a company will deliver heavy stuff to me, carry it to the third floor of my townhome and charge me next to nothing! read more

I first heard about Good's Furniture House while swimming in a pool several hours North near Freeport, IL. "You are going to Kewanee? You MUST go to Good's Furniture House!" I was told. And Who am I to argue with a local? Founded in 1895, Good's has kept abreast with technology and does a lot of television advertising covering an area that encompasses a drive of several hours in any direction. Good's Furniture House occupies two three-story buildings on both sides of S. Main Street connected by a sky bridge. The furniture is good quality, beautifully displayed, and priced to reflect both of these facts. This is NOT a cheap store, either in price or in quality, but if you are looking for very upscale well-built furniture then this is your store. We weren't really here to seriously furniture shop (I can't even IMAGINE what it would have cost yo ship my purchases back to California) but if I had been I would have been able to outfit my entire house here. There is a gift shop and a very upscale Wine Cellar restaurant in the basement of one of be buildings with are worth a visit. read more

We've been looking forward to seeing all the great products that Good's offered. I contacted them to see if the items we were looking for were available to see and the associate I contacted implied that the items were in the showroom. When we got there all the furniture looked the same and the pieces I specifically asked for had "just been sold", which I know is a load of garbage. Could she have said "we don't have that in the store" when I asked online? OF COURSE. but then we wouldn't have come all the way there to see the junk they had. After a 90 minute drive, we got to the showroom and were greeted by the most unpleasant person I've ever had the misfortune to see in a furniture store. We arrived with hope in our hearts until we actually met Hope. She refused to talk to me at all and never answered any questions I asked her. She only communicated with my wife and seemed surprised that I picked decent options for our furniture. Not only that, but she seemed exceedingly irritated that we had the temerity to wear masks in the store even though half the people we saw there were masked. Finally, I would expect a store that has 200,000+ square feet of showroom might have some things in stock that were not exactly the same as every other store we went to looking for furniture. All in all, if I could give 0 stars I would. They suck! read more

What a cool furniture store in an unexpected place, Kewanee! The place is massive and takes up many downtown blocks. You could wander throughout for hours, and they have some really cool stuff! There is a koi pond, clothes, accessories and even a full service restaurant! They have exclusive rights to a locally brewed beer, Prairie chicken, which you can also but by the case. I actually brought a six-pack all the way back to Orlando with me! The employees in the store were all very friendly and helpful. The quality of their furniture and home decor items looked to be very good with some unique items. The quality of food at the restaurant left something to be desired but the dining room (in the basement) was worth a visit anyway. You are going to want to set aside tie to wander though this place! read more

After seeing their commercial for years, I was excited to finally have a chance to spend a whole day at Goods. My anticipation having been built up with each commercial over the years, after driving 94 minutes, I finally stepped through the doors of my dream and entered into.....a stuffy maze of over-priced furniture, a closed salon, and no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms. They advertise great prices, and their tags indicate savings. However, they just write ridiculously absurd retail prices on their handwritten price tags. Yes, if I were to believe that a love seat was actually $8,099, their price of $2,048 would seem great! Knowing I could go to a local furniture store and get the same item for $649, I can only compare Goods to one of those perpetual "Going out of Business" establishments. I give Goods 2 stars only because it was clean. My fault for believing what I saw on TV. If only I could recoup my gas money..... read more

My husband and I went to "spend a day" as their commercial promotes. We drove over from Cedar Rapids, IA with a pick up to bing home our anniversary purchases. We arrived and went to the Wine Cellar form our lunch. I was never treated so rudely! The hostess said they had no tables and the two us would have a wait. Shortly, a young couple came in and the man said, "we are in a hurry. We need to be seated." And, she took them back. They did not have a reservation - were 2 people like us - but I suppose since she was young and they were too..... I asked, "why did they get seated before us when we have been waiting?" She said, "oh, a table just opened up." When we got seated, the young people that were in a hurry were next to us, in no hurry and were there after we left. It so ruined our anniversary day that I recommend you not be deceived by the "friendly atmosphere" the commercial promotes. read more

Their customer service is horrible, especially if you get Sam. Go somewhere else. They treat you like crap.

First of all, yes the place is very big. It winds around over a few different buildings and across the street via skywalk. You will have a salesperson/guide walk you around. It would be next to impossible to find what you want and get prices because every piece is available with many different options. We were able to find a nice cherry dining set and pick out the finish, chair style, type of wood, etc. The price was very competitive. Of course when you order a custom piece of furniture, be prepared to wait several weeks - but that's true everywhere. Delivery to the Chicago suburbs was very reasonable, too. Good place, check it out if you have the time. read more

We special ordered furniture through Good's and we loved the pieces but the finish work was terrible so we sent it back for a refund. While working with Good's for this we felt like we had done something wrong instead of the furniture manufacturer being at fault. No one from Good's ever said sorry during the whole process. I recently stayed the night in one of your suites, for my wedding night. I was very disappointed. First, there were at least 3 live medium sized bugs crawling around. Then, our bottle of champagne was covered in dust. After confirming breakfast be delivered to our room in the morning, it never showed. Needless to say, this was my first and last stay here. It's true they have an amazing selection of furniture, more than most other places in the midwest, but their prices are not competitive and their service is poor. Our daughter had a terrible 1st time buying new furniture experience with Goods. Drove over 100 miles to pick out & order new living room furniture. I had to be present when delivered as they were out of the country. Sofa was brought in & set up. When the recliners started coming in they were a different color. I questioned the delivery guys & they said it was right. I managed to get my daughter on the phone & she said no, all pieces are the same color. So the sofa went back on the truck with the check she left for payment in full. She is now being told they can't get the sofa in her color because of China tarriffs. Really, they drive to the all american furniture store to pay for over priced made in China furniture. They asked for a full refund & told them to come get the chairs. I was looking for a new leather recliner. I began calling a few furniture retailers to learn more and then I called Goods, I was connected to a great salesperson named Dave O. He was both extremely friendly and informative giving me his full attention on the phone. So, after visiting a local furniture store and being disappointed by the limited selection, my wife and I travelled to Goods for the first time. When we arrived we were greeted very personably and within a minute or two we were introduced to Dave O. Dave O. was just as friendly in person walking us to different galleries and having us try a seemingly unlimited number of recliners that matched what we gave him as our style, feature and color preferences. As I unfortunately have a difficult time walking any distance, Dave O. even dollied a piece down a floor level for me to be able to test the final two contenders side by side. I've never seen such attentive and quality service and I was only purchasing one piece of furniture, but I know where I will go when I'm in need of more. Good's is no longer worth the drive. It no longer has the "hometown" customer experience. We went looking for something that we could have delivered relatively soon due to personal reasons. We found two pieces on display that would work perfectly. Let me number the problems: 1. If it's only on display you must wait 12 weeks OR pay EXTRA money(remember these are display pieces) and buy additional pieces of furniture. 2. After time and reluctance, we agreed to purchase more pieces and pay more money than we wanted. When we again reluctantly agreed to this demand of purchasing more and got in touch with the clerk, the demands had changed...now the pillows that were displayed MUST be the ones we take even though on the bottom of the furniture brochure it said you may select any fabric for the accent pillows and we had selected fabric with the clerk. We agreed to pay more money against better judgement and now they wouldn't allow pillows of our choice! 3. Even with more demands we asked if it could be on hold til the next day to think about this latest demand or refusal. Answer was NO, you must make down payment or else. 4. We had also previously inquired into delivery. Yes of course they do but NO, to moving aside the existing furniture or taking it away. (This ability/courtesy to move furniture aside and/or take it away is available by many other furniture stores) 5. I also did give them the opportunity to explain or justify the situation by calling the owner/supervisor. I left a message with someone and gave them my name and phone number. I heard nothing back. Very very disappointing experience. There is nothing "hometown" about their policies and lack of good old mid-western hospitality and courtesy. read more

I was very disappointed in my first and only visit to this store. When we walked thru the door we were greeted by a salesperson, I politely told her this was my first time there and I wanted to just kind of wander and check it out. She proceeded to say in a whiny voice "oh no not without me" then put her head on my shoulder. I was in complete shock that she had touched me. Mind you she had a visible cold and was coughing and wiping her runny nose. I went ahead and let her show us around. The only places she wanted to take me were the clearance sections, I am not sure why she was pre-qualifying me as a customer, we were there to buy 2 bedroom sets, 2 sectionals, end tables and a kitchen table. I lost my home in a house fire and now need to refurnish. Later I told her we still wanted to wander around by ourselves and she left, she re-appeared 5 minutes later and basically escorted us out of the building. I have never been so disrespected by a salesperson ever. I am in customer service myself and would never treat someone the way that I was treated. We had a great experience at Good's Furniture! Our salesperson, Dave, stayed with us for almost a day and half while we shopped for family and breakfast room furniture. He knew the inventory like the back of his hand, and since the showroom covers three blocks, that's really saying something. We never felt pressured to buy anything or to buy the more expensive items. If you're planning to go to Good's, I would recommend calling ahead to get the name of a salesperson who will be ready to help when you arrive. We enjoyed lunch in the Wine Cellar on the first day, including some very yummy bakery items. We stayed in one of their "B&B" rooms which was convenient since they are connected to the showroom. A bottle of wine, cookies, and fruit awaited us at the end of a long day of shopping. And the next morning, we thoroughly enjoyed a continental breakfast with more yummy baked goods and fresh fruit. And you must try of the huge turtle treats when you need a sugar boost. All of these things made our experience very enjoyable but it was really Dave who made all the difference. He did a fantastic job of helping us find furniture based on comfort and our style, narrowing all of the choices with good questions so that we wouldn't feel overwhelmed. And it helped that he has a great sense of humor and seemingly endless patience! We would definitely recommend Good's, and hope the owners know what a great employee they have in Dave!! read more

I would normally give Good's 5 stars but I've had a disappointing experience recently. We recently purchased a beautiful (and very expensive) bedroom set as well as a mattress. Our salesman, Dave O, was very helpful, friendly, patient and professional. However, the mattress we purchased (Spring Air Sleep Sense Hybrid Poise) developed sizable impressions within the first 3 months. I reached out to Dave about my concerns, but unfortunately the body impressions weren't bad enough to warrant a replacement. I've continued to take pictures of the worsening impressions and send them to him but with no resolution. The body impressions in the mattress are so bad now (after 9 months) that we cannot sleep a full night on it and we have to see a chiropractor. The amount of money that we have spent on the mattress from Good's, the chiropractic appointments, and (sometime very soon) a new mattress from somewhere else is substantial. This experience has changed my view of Good's and we will take our business to a retailer that stands behind their products. read more

Lousy customer service. I drove 170 miles to pick up my order of 2 custom chairs. They had not been inspected prior to my pick up and 1 chair was very damaged. I was told by Chris in customer service they would rush the replacement and have it delivered at no charge. Eight weeks later I get a call to pick up my chair!! There was absolutely no contact from Goods during those eight weeks. I am told the chair will be delivered in 11 days and am told it will be right. I am hopeful but I will never shop there again. read more

What A huge furniture store! I spent the whole day here looking around at furniture. Goods has so many building and floors of furniture I bet there wasnt A single stairway I didnt go down. I really loved to take A walk across the bridge the view is so nice. The furniture isnt what you would find everyday the selection is really great. You got to see the wine cellar restaurant in the basement and the fish they have in A pond. Gooods even sells there own coffee its called Goods House blend. Make sure to look at all the clothes and jewelry they have for sale it will sure have the women smiling. You will really have A great day coming here! read more

I am a new home owner to a beautiful property in Iowa. I went to Goods which is a tremendous drive for me, thinking that I would find superior service with an even better product. False. I met with a young man who had the worst customer service and communication skills known to man. My furniture, as expected was supposed to take 6-12 weeks to come in. Of course it ended up being 16 weeks and it was constantly on my end calling them to get updates. Part of my furniture order was sent to Goods incorrectly. Meaning a massive delay on my delivery. And again, NO ONE CALLED TO TELL ME THIS. I am the owner of a business and know the #1 rule to exceptional customer service.....THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. They would not offer a single thing to me to compensate for their poor customer service. In fact, our sales representative told me one afternoon there there was no supervisor for me to speak to about my issue that he clearly was not capable of handling. Are you kidding me? My husband and I had an entire home to furnish and this will be my absolute last experience with Goods. I will say the the quality of the product i received was good. Hence the reason why they received 2 stars as opposed to one. I would not recommend them for future use. read more

The customer service was absolutely horrible. We've had a series of disappointments and would never go back. We ordered a couch and table. The table was on back order for 6 months (they did not tell us that when we ordered). Every time we called to check on it, we got very little detail and info, and they were not very friendly about it. We bought a couch and within two months the wooden frame cracked. It's been 4 months since that incident and it's still not repaired. Again, it's a series of poor communications with little details and always pledges for the repair to be coming soon. Buyer Beware! Bought two recliners. When they were delvered, the color looked very differen, then they looked in their showroom. They charged a $190.00 restocking fee for each recliner to return them, even though we were willing to purchase two more recliners. Very poor customer service! read more
