I think this is a great travel agency. I'm a Christian and they do an amazing job at bringing the Bible stories to life. I recently went on the steps of St Paul to Greece and it was amazing. Our guides were knowledgeable and fun! Please go in with a positive and grateful attitude. Also, make sure you can handle things physically. It's not rigorous but there is some walking and a lot of steps. The owner Tony takes things seriously and wants his customers happy. Understand if you travel high end this is more of a budget traveling with others to keep cost down. With that said it's amazing and more about what you're learning and fellowship. read more

When can we expect our refunds for the Holy Land trip scheduled for January? There is a war going on there, so travel is out of the question, and no one is responding to emails and messages. read more

My wife and I went on a Holy Land tour with Good Shepherd in late May. It had been sold as a pilgrimage, but was really just a bus tour. The bus itself was very new, spacious and clean and the driver was an absolute wizard at maneuvering it in the narrow, crowded streets. The Golan hotel in Tiberius was adequate and the Paradise Hotel in Bethlehem was excellent. The food in both places was quite good and offered buffets with numerous fresh salads and fruit. However, the visits to the various holy sites were way too short and the days were generally very rushed and exhausting. The theme of the tour seemed to be "look, take your pictures and move on." We had just 15 minutes on the Mount of the Beatitudes, five or ten at the Church of the Ascension in Nazareth, 15 minutes at the Church of All Nations on the Mount of Olives, and so forth. At no time was there an option to stay in any one place for a while to pray or be contemplative. But when it came to shopping, there always seemed to be plenty of time and a subtle undercurrent to spend money. Finally, there was not clear communication on some of the costs we were expected to bear. Water was provided in bottles, but we had to pay for it at $1 for roughly 16 ounces. (There were somewhat better options which we did discover in shops near our Bethlehem hotel.) Lunches were listed as not provided on the original tour paperwork but later information said they were provided. The requests for donations to the various churches at which we celebrated Mass were also not made clear up front. Finally, we were told at tour's end that the DVD of photos and video would be an extra $130. My wife and I are both glad we went on the tour and had the opportunity to see many of the holy sites and shrines. However, if you are looking for a true pilgrimage experience, Good Shepherd Travel may not be your best choice. If you are primarily interested in a bus tour that takes you safely and efficiently from site to site with cursory guided visits to each, this company may be an excellent choice. read more

When I posted to Traveling Texans WhatsApp, Cindy Peck immediately blocked me from the chat so I couldn't see or respond to reviews. The appropriate thing to do would be to offer assistance, but our last call was answered with "I'm at lunch, call and emergency number with Cosmos." This has been our experience with Traveling Texans every step of the way.
