I visited this Goodwill for the first time last night, and was SO impressed! The items were impeccably sorted and clearly displayed, and the staff was pleasant. In addition, this store was very clean. This Goodwill is about 20 miles from my home, but from now on I will be bypassing my nearby stores to go to the Cottage Grove one. The donation center needs for be more efficient. It should not take 30 minutes per car to drop donations off! If weekends are the busy time they need more then 1 person working. read more

I stop here every 2 months or so. It's nice that it's about a mile from Basic Needs Thrift Store. This is the only Goodwill I know of on top of a hill. The selection is so hit or miss. I found this youth L Under Armour shirt. Too small for my son and me, but fits Hunter perfectly. Also found a stoneware cow plate that matches my pig plate. Did I need? No, but would have regretted not buying it later. So glad the girl in orange hair did not ask me to round up. read more

Have been to many Goodwill stores in California, and this was my first visit to one in Minnesota. What a great place! Everything was well organised, the space was spotless, the bathrooms clean, and the people who worked there absolutely wonderful and so helpful. Great selection of clothing, home goods, and stuff for school. There is also a station for charging your electric car, if you're so inclined. Best thrift store I've been to in years. I went to do my first exchange of clothing, the first time ever and was really given a hassle. It was implied that I had put falsified tags on the clothing, and therefore could not be given an exchange. When I called to complain, that there was no policy anywhere about what might invalidate and exchange, I was given the same clerk, who was supposedly the manager. She did a great job to make sure to say that she did not accuse me of fraud, but yet, claimed that she could not make the exchanges due to improper tags. The reasons for the invalidated tags were their own doing, like a tag being marked XS on an XL garment, or a tag being put on a garment with out the garment having a size tag of its own to match to it. And the last being that the size of the hole of the tag was ripped a mm and therefore looked tampered with. I wonder how many people had handled that garment since it was tagged to give the tag a little Wear. The hole was not bigger than the plastic tag, so it couldn't have been changed out. Of course I would not have bought them if I knew these things would be so scrutinized. I had my receipt, I went in within the 7 days. I did what I was asked. I can't believe the audacity of the manger to be that adamant to refuse my exchange twice for less than $15.00 of items. I wasn't even asking for my money back! What were they going to be out? I myself, will no longer shop there. So, buyer beware. read more

I went to the Goodwill yesterday and asked the cashier if I could return 2 video games if they turned out not to work. She said "Yes" but failed to mention that I could only return for store credit. Finding both games did not work I went to get my money and then was then told it was only refundable for store credit. Goodwill is selling broken items and not training emploees properly. Lesson learned. read more
