Slow cashiers literally every time I go. The old ones need a different position other then that everyone else n everything is cool.

    Ask the Community - Goodwill

I would like to know if Goodwill sells donated clothing to companies that recycle textiles or sells the donated clothes in their stores?

Hi Kathy! After sorting donated clothing, Goodwill sells wearable and usable items in our Retail stores to fund our mission. When Goodwill receives excess clothing donations that won’t sell in the stores, they are baled and sold as textile salvage…

I asked our cashier, "Joe," if I could enter my phone number for any discounts or to accumulate points toward membership benefits, and he rudely said, "It's too late." When I asked what he meant, he repeated that it was too late because the store was closing and he couldn't allow me to enter my number, even though it wasn't 7 p.m. yet, the store was still open, and there was still a line of customers checking out. I wasn't asking for anything complicated, just to enter my number on the keypad right in front of him, ring up our items, and check out. I also asked if my mother could sign up for a membership, since I'd been raving about this store and she was excited to join. He said no to both. I was genuinely confused because he seemed annoyed with us, and we hadn't done anything to him. Confused, I asked for a manager. It wasn't a miscommunication, since Joe spoke perfect English. I just genuinely didn't understand the refusal. While waiting, I overheard another cashier explaining the day's color-tag discounts and promotions to a different customer. Joe never offered us any of that information. We were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from him. When the manager came over, she had an attitude and talked over me as I tried to explain what was going on. She said Joe meant "there's no deals on Sundays" and pointed to the sign. I told her I already knew that, I can read, and I've been a member there for years. I was trying to explain that Joe had refused to let me enter my phone number, sign my mom up for a membership, or tell us about the color-tag discounts, claiming it was too late because the store was closing , even though there were still people in the store. The manager's response was that if we needed discounts, we should come back Monday through Thursday, which missed the point entirely and left my mother and me feeling like we'd been stereotyped as customers who were only there for discounts. I've shopped at this store for years and brought my mother because I wanted her to love it as much as I do. Instead, the visit left us feeling dismissed and stereotyped over what should have been a simple, friendly interaction. Joe and the manager were rude and unwelcoming, which made us so uncomfortable. A little patience and basic courtesy would have made all the difference. Please work on your customer service.

For example you can get an undershirt brand new from Walmart for 2 dollars, and sometimes they charge 5 dollars for an undershirt here. I've found some awesome antique items here for pennies. Like I mentioned, it was the eatery (one in particular "The Secret Garden") that got me there and it was darn good. I will look forward to my next visit and meal.

I got two loaves of sliced homemade gourmet Tuscan garlic bread for sandwiches. They had areas with clearance prices, new clothes, and select items. I didn't find any deals there and didn't want any of those items. Regular prices items were great finds. I got clay pots for plants $1 each. A new puzzle box still sealed for $4. An oracle deck in mint condition for $2. A large black velvet scarf for $2. Paperback books for 50 cents. A travel jewelry case for $2. They were all in good condition or new. The parking lot can be overcrowded due to the Islamic Center of worship beside it. Traffic can be very busy there as well. People looking for designer deals may not like this place, because they price them at fair not low prices. Book prices are the best at this thrift store if you like buying books. Vintage & collector books are priced fairly and NOT at a low price. This is a place I would consider going to again for plant pots and the books, as well as the baked bread. Overall, five stars for this thrift store.

I knew I was going in 15 minutes before closing but I was going to honor the time. I work retail and have worked thrift stores so I know what it's like to want to leave on time. I was not greeted with a hello or hi. I was greeted with a very curt and rude "we close in 15 minutes". Fine. Whatever. But within the next five minutes I got 2 more time reminders. At this point my kid had stuff she wanted but it did not meet the $5 minimum sale requirement for debit/credit. So I was trying to find something else quickly so we could go. However I wasnt going to buy something just to buy it and toss it. That's wasteful. It was still 10 minutes before close and they were just staring at me. I told my kid that we would just come back and get stuff another day. The lady with the short red hair said very loudly "sorry kiddo mom doesn't have any money". Which let me tell you pissed me off. I had the money and consistently spend $25-$50 a trip when they have a fully stocked store. I just couldn't find enough junk to meet their minimum this time. Also I find that to be incredibly rude and insensitive since their whole organization is to help people in poverty. I mean, I've waited in line while customers have counted out pennies to fill the gap of what their lcac vouchers wont cover. So way to be incredibly insensitive on top of rude. Theres no excuse for that. I just walked out at that point. Took a few weeks before I came back in because I was so upset. This time I came in with two big boxes of donations because I was tired of trying to sell stuff online. Two big boxes of name brand plus size clothes - some with tags. I got zero help as well as zero hello or hi or anything. No hey can we hold the door for you? No can we help? No thank you. Nothing At this point I dont know if they are just assuming its junk because of my appearance (tattoos, piercings) or if they just dont really care to be polite and offer good customer service anymore. I dont know what's going on here but there used to be a pretty solid crew of nice ladies working here and now it's nothing but a bunch of rude women. My donations and business will be going elsewhere.
