But I don't like snotty associates , and i've waited patiently for sometimes , a half an hour , just asked them to look at an item , and they act like it's a real problem. This location needs DRESSING ROOM to try on items. Also would be beneficial if you had more dedicated parking for this store and make it more wheelchair accessible and easier to enter. read more

They are always very organized, well stocked, good sales, and have relatively clean fitting rooms. This one is also a medium sized store. It doesn't seem as big as the one in Laurel Maryland. There's no dressing room. They tell you to try the clothes over your clothing. There is only one mirror in the entire store that every potential buyer tries to use at once. It is ridiculous to not have a fitting room and more ridiculous to have only one mirror in the store. I wanted to try clothing on in private to see if it fits and if I liked it. Since there are no refunds, it makes sense to try things on first. I asked about a fitting room and left all my clothing items. I'm not comfortable changing in front of strangers or in public I've never been to a place that sells clothes and does not have a fitting room. I can only think the reason for this is they assume people are going to steal secondhand clothing. It is odd. read more

I think I continue to be spoiled by Unique. I was left unimpressed with clothing selections. Mist looked overly worn for kids. The toys section was decent and I bought a couple of items. Another spot they excel in is the children's book area. Very well priced, gently used selection. It's a drive and not better than closer thrift stores, so I don't anticipate returning in the near future. read more

There were so much good finds, i had alot of clothing and was ready to be checked out, But the lady at the front told me that i needed to be checked out by the guy at the other aisle (where the purses are)or by her and she would help me.. it was honestly so embarassing being checked out by her when i couldve done it by myself. Im 100% sure she thought i was stealing as i am a teenage girl... im very dissapointed and embarassed to even come back.. The cashier at the register and her supervisor are so jaded and paranoid about people switching price tags to the point where they become aggressive to customers that do nothing wrong. The supervisor was behaving in a very stressed and irritated manner, which was causing her judgement to be clouded. Please show more respect your customers & clearly ease the workload of the woman supervising tonight (maybe it will make her a more patient and understanding person). Anyway on a good note; I always find at least one gem at this store. I used to love going to these stores....now there is no dressing room, the item selections are in poor quality yet priced new, they used to have 50% days each week and multiple color tag sales each day but good luck finding anything with that color tag as they instruct the workers to remove the color of the day off the shelves. I understand that this a FOR PROFIT business but at the end of the day you are still selling used items so why would I want to pay the same price as new when the item looks badly worn? I've been going to the 2nd Avenue in Woodbridge for over 20 years and I'm disappointed with the changes they recently made to the rewards program. Good luck trying to find something with the 50% off color tag posted! Is it really a sale, if you can't find not one thing in the store with the posted color tag. The prices have also almost double for donated used goods and they are pricing merchandise as if the goods are new. They need to rethink their pricing, discount and have merchandise in store that actually have the posted sales color tag! read more

This used to be my favorite place but now Savers has purchased them and their prices have gone up and their rewards program is changing. The manager of the Alexandria location, as she pointed at my face (made me quite uncomfortable), said the system hadn't transitioned and I couldn't receive my 10% loyalty discount. She said there was no way for her to manually enter a 10% discount. Part of the reason I go to 2nd avenue is because their prices are good and the extra 10% helps out a lot. Now, the prices are up and more comparable with Savers prices and I didn't get my 10%. I understand the logistics involved with mergers and acquisitions but that is supposed to be worked out at their end before rolling out as to not inconvenience the customers. Huge selection of items of all kinds with a daily discount. Everything is well-organized by type of product. However, be sure to test items before purchasing as they are not tested before being put out for sale and they do not accept returns or do exchanges (my reason for four stars). read more

The only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is the employees on the sales floor consistently leave their merchandise carts blocking things, cut customers off and are generally rude. I had heard a rumor from my students that this place has a great Monday sale--so I headed over here in search of 80's garb for an upcoming party. This place is HUGE and well organized. Every type of garment was organized by color--so if you know your need some teal or pea green pants this is your place to go. I found a fabulous 80's dress of black lace and satin---and at 7.90 it seemed like a steal. However, there was no place to try anything on, only mirrors to size yourself up against--so it was a crapshoot of a purchase. At a size 14 (but from the 80's so it looked like it might fit my size 6 body) I wasn't sure. But knowing it was Monday and I would get an extra 30% off I had to purchase it. I bought it--brought it home--but alas slightly to big! Anyone need a great 80's dress? I also got a cool day dress--very much like whats in Urban Outfitters right now for a cool 5.90 (plus 30% off!). After going this way for sooo long I finally see a thrift store off the side of the road. This place was huge, it seemed like it could have been an old warehouse or supermarket. I liked the fact that the place was really clean and didn't smell like used clothing. The isles were very well organized, everything was in its on little section. The clothing was sorted by color. I would definitely go back because I wasn't in the mood to shop at that time (I can't believe it). But if you're looking for a bargain this is the place to go. I have a like/dislike with this place. It is well organized and you can find some amazing deals on name brand items. I've found a Jo Malone candle, Lucky jeans, Henri Bendel jewelry pouch and so much more. What I dislike is the pricing structure. It's all over the place and more often than not, way overpriced. I saw something recently with a retail sticker of $3 priced at $4.99! As I've shopped I've overheard many customers comment on how things are priced way to high. I agree!! I also dislike how rude some of the employees are. The cashiers can sometimes not be very friendly but the people on the floor, shelving merchandise are downright rude! I have been stepped on, had the cart rolled into me, and elbowed so many times by the employees. No sorry or excuse me. Also, on sale days they should have more cashiers working. This place always has great finds and it's pretty organized as well! On Sundays and Mondays they have 50% off certain colored tags. Everything is already very reasonably priced there so the extra discount just makes you walk out guilt free. For example, my brothers have found Dior ties there for $4! I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. A few years ago this was THE spot. Resellers camped out for hours chatting to employees, managers, and each other waiting for the goodies to come out. Whoever you were, you left feeling awesome and with a smile on your face. Savers bought them out and Management changed. Now in the store everything is pretty much damaged or overpriced. You frequently see both employees and customers being treated poorly by management, the atmosphere has changed, merchandise quality has gone down and prices have doubled and tripled (in some instances 4x higher). I come shop here a couple times a week to look for vintage items. im not sure what's going on with this store but their prices are through the roof and the items are mostly damaged. the self checkout lines are so long, I thought they would be speeding up) and almost every time I go there management is making huge scenes accusing people of shoplifting or "failing to scan" petty trinkets (candleholder today). it makes shopping very unpleasant and uncomfortable. it just left a bad taste in my mouth. my wife felt the same way when we left today. I don't think we will be continuing to shop here. we may have to face the traffic and head on towards DC for thrifting. read more

This is my favorite Thrift Store in Woodbridge. V.A. Name brand (J Crew, Express, Anne Taylor, Guess, and Joe's Jeans) all in good condition with reasonable prices for the brands I mean...you just can't compare them to any other thrift store because they are truly in a league of their own. The only drawback I have is parking...they share a lot with ALDI and several other stores so it can get pretty busy. You might have to drive around a poorly constructed parking lot in order to find a lot but I don't blame them for this entirely. I recommend going on a week day (Monday-Thursday) in the late afternoon to beat the crowds and get good deals. read more

4 stars because they are currently renovating .The interior added some serious organization , by categorizing and spacing out the rows. The Womens shoe selection seems always busy but far from excellent condition. I've found some great sports jerseys, Sports equipment at a fraction of the price . I purchased a GT BMX bike and also nice oil Paintings. In addition the Donation process is easy , I drive to the rear of the store and usually some one loads all the stuff into a truck. Visiting from FL, this was the first place our local thrifter cousin took us on our designated thrift day. The Village Thrift's half off day! The store was huge, well lit, and had tons of everything.... except what we were looking for: vintage. If you are looking for used modern clothing, they have a great selection, even if the price is a little steep. 3 colors were half off, and the other 33%. We scored some dresses for decent price and the cutest Benetton dress for myself for 33% off $20. They had a small selection of trinkets, and I loved a set of 70s mushroom jars, which were well priced but unfortunately not travel friendly. 3 stars for cleanliness, neatness, good selection but high undiscounted prices. When traveling, you find yourself using many dreaded public restrooms. Village Thrift gets 1 extra star for a surprisingly very clean restroom on such a busy day! read more

I used to be a frequent buyer and loved the store since 2010... but in the past few years they have increased their prices to be outrageous. Most of the time very close to a new item. It's better to buy a new item than a used one for the prices they have. The 50% off is no longer worth a trip to the store. Any items of interest has to be vetted online. If you're looking for a place that sells designer jewelry and high end merchandise, don't go here. If you want giant wooden steins, lava lamps, easy bake ovens, or cheap clothes then always go here. The Village is a great mixing pot of clothes, random bags of toys, 90s furniture and potential recycled gifts. My girlfriend loves to shop here for sparkle parties that she throws because they have so many awful sparkly clothes. I mean that in the best way possible. The staff won't do much to help you out other than ring you up and organize clothes by size and sometimes color. Their prices are usually pretty solid, but you should come in on Sundays or Mondays when everything is at its cheapest, though slightly picked over. They are also a great place to donate anything. I drive to this place from Alexandria just to experience all of the horrible clothes and gifts that are sure to make me cackle. read more

Every time I'm in the area I visit this place. It's a thrift store warehouse. There's clothes galore, books for change, toys, furniture, a large selection of kitchen wares and more. I love checking the small section by the front door because that's where they usually put their new items. Last time I went I saw a guitar in its case, some studio grade sound equipment, matching tables, and lawn furniture. The clothing is put in order by size and color, this sounds annoying but is good when you're looking for something specific. I don't think there's been a time I've visited that I didn't purchase something. If you're looking for a thrift store that has a little bit of everything, this is a contender. read more

I forgot to write down the hours when I visited today - if you're travelling to come, call first to verify they're open. Old, but clean. Items organized by type, size and color - very nice! Makes for easy browsing. Mostly clothing (men's, women's and children's). Also has a good selection of shoes and bags. Small selection of household, furniture, toys, books and miscellaneous stuff. They have four dressing rooms. Prices are as expected - sometimes there's an Old Navy tank for $5.90, sometimes there's an Anne Klein sweater for $2.90. The fun is in the search, right? OK, their overall pricing can be a bit weird. Some stuff is crazy cheap while other items are higher than the mall. It's a thrift store though, so I really don't understand the reviews about selection. It isn't like they order items and stock up departments. I can't ding VV on things they have limited control over. I love going on Sale Days and have been able to get all sorts of items that have helped me get my business up and running without having to take out a loan. The staff has been overall friendly and helpful, every so often you get that person that doesn't seem to see you, but you can get that anywhere. I have gotten some great "finds". Designer dresses for $6, brand new items still in the box for a tenth of retail, books for virtually pennies, etc... I had also seen crazy things like a task chair for $15, that you can get new for almost that price. read more

VV is my go-to thrift store in the area. Considering their volume, you would think the prices would be lower, but the selection kind of makes up for it. As a school librarian, I was here all the time-- buying used books, clothes, and stuffed animals to give away at my school. It saved me time and money. Please note that regardless of what they say on their website, they will NOT give you a tax deduction receipt for donations. I never give donations to VV for this reason, and, along with the somewhat high prices, this is why I am giving them a lower rating. Overall, it's worth the trip. read more
