The selection on plus size items is limited, and today it seemed the clothing was quite old. Way too expensive and i see no one getting the job help they claim. That section is always empty's

I have been going to the Dallas Goodwill Outlet for several years. This means I have seen so many of their rules change, sometimes weekly. I have noticed a gradual improvement in the attitudes of employees, to each other and to customers. However, I went yesterday and while shopping saw row after row ofbins being brought out but covered with sheets or blankets, so not open for shopping. They then told all shoppers they were closing from 12-1 so pay for items and leave, or wait in front area til they reopen. Also, if you spend $50 at checkout you would be allowed back in at 12:30. Of course the roundup and exit of shoppers to pay meant a longggg line to checkout. It has always been curious to me that they don't seem to have fundamental retail expertise, nor do they seem to care about their customers at all, and this latest change really reinforces that. Their method of replacing bins is chaotic-the last time I was at the Austin Outlet they had an organized way of doing it, starting at one end and then moving down replacing each row. It was a while back, but seemed to work. Why in the world would you make shoppers leave when they are shopping at your store? i dunno, just felt disrespectful. I don't get there till 10ish, and typically spend more than 2 hours there, so its no longer a fun place for me to shop, so I won't go as often, if at all. Fortunately i live in between the Dallas and Ft Worth store, so I'll just try the Ft Worth store instead. read more

I was just there and I was about to buy a iPad and a computer monitor and they took it saying they can't sell it and i understand that but it is not shown anywhere they still charged me for it because they took it after they weighed it also they said they can't sell Apple or dell products but the monitor wants even dell it was a off brand monitor that has nothing to do with dell. The employees are rude as FUCK I came here the other day at 4pm with my mother. When we arrived there was only four rows of bins left all containing pillows, blankets and stuffed animals. We picked through trying to see if we could find anything else for like 20 minutes. At some point the higher up manager came out and we overheard him telling some other customers "this is not how we operate" - alluding to the employees taking away the bins even though the store was open another two hours. We didn't want to stick around so my mom got a stuffed animal for her dog and we leave to pay. As we are paying the employees are throwing a fit because their manager is telling them to put the bins back out. One of them points to me and my mother and says "it's because these people came in late!" We came in at 4pm. The store closes at 6pm. What the fuck am I missing? I come here often and I've never experienced anything like that before, some of the employees are genuinely friendly and nice and I do find a good amount of stuff. read more

They continue to close early at 7p under the new management or transferred help. The guy insists that everyone be checked out so as to close at 7p. This location used to be open until 9p as stated on google. There were patrons coming in from treading in the rain to make it all to be told they close 2 hours early. Are they getting paid to stay until 9/10??? Does the headquarters know? This is a lucrative location as its connected to the outlet and near a major shopping plaza which is why it is to be open later to provide people with actual jobs a chance to shop in peace without being yelled at every 15 minutes that they are closing early every single time ive come and he is there! Ridiculous. Im calling headquarters. This is an update to previous review as yes its neat and tidy but means nothing when you are forced to leave 2 hours early so cannot finish shopping. The outlet store next door ("the bins") lock the door at 4pm for literally no reason to ensure no new shoppers can be admitted the last hour--they have been closing early as well at 5p instead of 6/7p. Where in good wills policy and i employee training was this terrible tactic tought?? These bin stores are far in between so shoppers TRAVEL to this location for the bins the nerve to treat people like that. Yall i barely got in and the lady had some guy CHECK THE DOOR to ensure it was locked after an elderly lady exited out so i can get in--horrible. What really impressed me about this location is their customer service. Employees were polite and helpful. They had a bit of everything and the store is neat and organized maybe because they just opened and people hadn't had the chance to "mess" up the place. Love this place. I always find so many women's clothing pieces with the tags still on them. Prices are a bit high for a Goodwill, but I have found some good finds. I've found a really cool vintage 80s leather jacket, some bright 90s purple vintage pants with the tags still on, a new Anthropologie sheer blouse with the tags still on as well. You really got to dig to find the finds, but if you're in that mindset this is the place! read more

Worked in the warehouse sorting clothes The floor managers are very rude. Needs to be trained on how to talk to a human being, Have no idea of training or teaching in order pertaining to the job at hand. They arrogant. no respect for the individuals they are talking to. They brings personal home problems to work. Individuals they feel threatened by. They gives them the worst carts to sort. They have clicks to bring forth anything that's not in their favors (floor managers). Human Resources definitely need to do a review on their "Floor Managers" on how to talk, train the people under them the proper techniques, without fusing or blaming. for the "Floor Managers" are running the true workers off. It was a nightmare working on the floor. With everyone having their own ways of doing the sorting of different items, etc. Left work with a headache each day I worked there Let alone one of the floor managers feeling threatened by me. Never seen her before in my lifetime When Human Resources personnel walks through the managers grinning from ear to ear like everything is handy dandy. Let's be real. Go to work there. My mom found a new gate that had 2 prices on it when she took it up to the counter to ask how much it was they snapped at her and said it was neither of those prices and refused to sell it and insisted it be taken to the back without any explanation or apology - they also started talking about how much they hated customers who changed prices and how mad they were getting thinking of a gate being sold for that price. Total unprofessional and disgusting attitudes. I was also told my 10 lb dog wasn't allowed in the store when there were no signs on the door prohibiting dogs. read more

Decided to donate at this location after a garage sale because it's closer than the one off Haskel. I called out because I didn't see anyone at the trailer, and was going to just put my things in one of the bins outside. I started unloading and a man came out yelling at me to put my mask on. I said nothing and went to my car to get my mask. I don't mind, but as it's outdoors and I didn't see anyone there or any signage of masks required, with the mandate lifted I thought I would be fine. This didn't bother me as much as this man dumping a heavy, decorative candle with holder into the bottom of the bin and it came apart and dented. He had no regard whatsoever. I had dishes that my neighbors had brought over and a couple of really nice vases that I had packed clothing around so they wouldn't break. I know it's probably just junk to some, but I felt this guy had no respect for the items I was donating. I didn't say too much and he did give me my receipt after I asked for it, but it's worth driving to the other location to have a better experience and not actually see the person working thrashing my donations like they are trash. read more

This review is long overdue. I came here looking for a prom dress for the Yelp prom a few months ago. I heard this is the mother ship of Goodwill stores, so I figured I'd find something. This place is mighty big, and the selection of prom dresses was pretty decent. I can't remember if the dressing room had a limit or not, but I was never hassled bringing in several dresses at a time to try on. And I walked away with one for about $10, so it was a win. read more

I'm a hybrid explorer/thrifter and had to see this megastore! It kicks the Salvation Army on Harry Hines off the Dallas map in terms of pricing and selection of random stuff! AND, if you check the Observer (or any one of those paper magazines that you can pick up at the supermarket for free), you may find a 50% off coupon that would be good, say for the brand new leather feminine leather briefcase from Fossil ($30 before coupon), or the galore of picture frames ($3 each) and random mirrors ($). Or marbles (some loose change in your pocket will do). You pick. This place has everything from furniture, costumes for dogs (there was a BIN when I went), old briefcases, potentially shabby chic items, clothing of course, lamps without shades and shades without lamps, etc. The dressing rooms are well lit and roomy. They put their stuff out in the morning, pick up the customer-mutilated items in the evening, and you randomly find decent Fossil purses/bags and just decent looking bags here. Also, there's a glass display case for those high end stuff, like Gucci (real or not, I'm not sure) paraphenalia. Not up my alley, but if it's yours, have at it. read more

This place is huge for a thrift store. There's plenty of selection (I typically come for home goods like picture frames, wicker baskets, etc). I've never had an issue with the staff, but the organization could be a little bit better. Genesis Shelter downtown is organized way nicer. EDIT: I parked my Lexus kind of near the back of the parking lot, but a guy decided to slam his door into mine regardless, digging a chunk of my door handle out. He fled the scene. It's my first time at this branch and I LOVE this Goodwill!!!!! It's HUGE with so many selections!!! Very clean and neatly organized. The cashier was VERY nice and friendly!!! I deducted 1 star because there were 2 associates working in the books area. (The main reason why I stopped by.) One of the ladies told me that that area was closed. It looked to me like they were restocking. This was the very first area I came to see, I've been in the store for OVER an hour and they were STILL restocking the books!!!! Does it really take 2 ASSOCIATES OVER AN HOUR to restock the shelves?!?!?! There wasn't even a shelf that was empty. Just the table with all the children's books. Aside from that, overall, I will be back at this branch because the store is the best I've ever been to!!!! Must go!!!! read more

I typically frequent your Round Grove Road location in Lewisville once to twice a week. Whereas I have great things to say about the head stocker and cashier's your new asst. Manager Josh seems in need of direction. I have asked about books, you tend to have a really good supply and I love to read. So.. when your book area suddenly went down to a few on a shelf, lots of things out of place tossed on those shelves and the floor littered with stickers it was plain something was wrong. The rest of the store looked great, neat tidy and clean but that corner neglected. I pointed it out on three visits before it was attended to. Still no stocking done however. So .. this past Thursday I had a conversation with Josh about this. Can you please stock the books? I know you might not have any ( oh yes we have a ton) or the staff to do this.(oh I will do it myself this afternoon). Today is now Saturday. No books put out. And to add insult when I called back to speak with him after leaving the store. I walked in and checked. He told me they put books out. He saw them earlier in the day. Well it was 1:08 and he arrived at 1:00. Something is amiss. Please just be honest. Say you don't have the manpower or the time. I know you are short staffed, but there were 4 stockers today plus a cashier, a trainee and a female assistant manager Emily who told me TODAY no, no books had been put out, shelves were justifying her reply. Because of above reasons. Honesty goes a long way. If such a small issue constitutes a lie what else is really going on. read more

I haven't been in the store for awhile, but it's usually pretty good. But! I drove all the way over there with 4 boxes of good stuff to donate. The lady said she didn't want any more stuff for the day, and told me to try Salvation Army, which is way too far. I looked on Goodwill's website for the nearest donation center and it was in Grand Prairie. I drove to that location and there is no donation center there, at all. I ended up dropping the stuff off at a thrift store. It's not very hard to update a website when a donation location is removed. I could probably do it, and I'm old. Rant complete. read more

I love finding treasures here, but unfortunately I don't find as many as I use to. LaShonda and the rest of the staff is great except for one woman there (I believe she is a manager)a lighter Hispanic. She is extremely rude and would probably want to charge you 100 bucks for a jacket if she could. I see her constantly making up her own prices and I see a lot of ppl not buying it because they thought it was regular price. The sign might say 1.95 a piece and she'll count something as 2 pieces when it's literally a 1 piece suit and no sign specifies that 1 piece suits are priced differently. It's false advertisment and she's done this a lot and I have caught her not ringing half off colors at their discounted price. Prices at store have already gone up as it is so her doing this is a total turn off to shopping there She really should be coached on customer service and not continue to make up her own pricing as she pleases. read more

Found a few items but found things to he high priced for what we were buying. Purses said" 1.99$ unless otherwise marked". I found a lightly used purse, maybe a target brand with no tag so grabbed it. Lady at the till said "oh, this is Liz clairborne it's 5 bucks". Then some manager explained why, but at this point I was in the right and I really didn't care , and I was unimpressed. Here's the deal- you mark the item, or it's the price on the sign.
