It's more like a section that feels like a rummage sale very small area (and that would be the "thrift" section) and the rest of the store is more like a bargain store. New in the box items at low value. Like items were purchased in bulk from pallets or via some other option. Which that's fine but it's not a proper advertising to put this in the same category as all the other thrift stores. Since the expectation was thrift and not bargain buys (hobo, big lots, family dollar) the rating is based on the category of that makes sense. Now if it was noted as a standard store or bargain/discount space I'd add one star based on what I saw. The store was also very dimly lit and no one greeted us/saw no staff so that added to a quick in and out visit!

They have a cool area that clothes are brand new with store tags on it as well the thrift store price. You can get a great deal especially if you find the 50% off tag or .99 tag. They have a huge book selection. The store itself is so stocked and very nicely set up. I could spend hours in there but it can be a little bit packed. The cashiers are so. Ice. You can tell who their every day costumers are because I heard a few address some by name. That is so sweet. If you like value, a cool gold or two or three do your self a huge favor and go. If nothing else the yummy popcorn is so well worth the drive.

It took me back to a combination of my grandfather's tool shed or my grandparents farm home. It was fun and a tad sad. The owner has just taken over the property in the last couple of months, so not everything is priced, but if you ask, he'll be able to tell you. It's clear inventory is still being moved around. I never stopped by when the Olde Store was under the previous ownership, so it may be different for those who have. My visit, too short to spend time looking at things in detail, did allow me to see the treasures. Glassware, china, curios, a wood burning stove (at least I think it was), sanders, a dial phone, toys, paperback books from the 1950s or 60s, I think, pictures, a small selection of jewelry, periodicals, and even several photo albums with photos from the 30s. These weren't just random, though, the photo albums were themselves from the era, with the black pages and glued backed corners. It was a pretty impressive historical record. The Olde Store, should it keep the charm it has, will be a fun shop to visit again. For someone looking to capture a perfect antique, it will be a good place to start the search.

The floors looked dirty and the wares were haphazardly piled on top of each other on the shelves. The prices also seemed high, but I'm not sure if they have some sort of discount based on tag color or something. There was a lady making a bunch of noise tossing sporting goods merchandise around as I thought she shopped, but later on I ran across her in another area of the store throwing plastic toys around and realized that she was an employee. Marlene's is well stocked and clean and is situated next to a mattress store. The stores are connected by a rather large doorway and the day we were there, mattresses were getting moved into Marlene's stockroom. I don't know if Marlene's is expanding into the other space, or if Marlene's owns the mattress store....it was a little weird and we didn't ask, but the mattress store had it's own sign, so who knows? The staff was friendly and helpful, as needed. There is no parking lot, that we could see, so you would have to park on 13th street, which, on this stretch is a little tricky due to the amount of traffic. I stopped in to check out their video games and Funko Pops for sale. I was excited to see they had a few GameCube games as there was one in particular I wanted, but they didn't have it. I found a VR game for PS4 that slightly interested me, but it was priced at $14 and is worth around $10, so I passed on it. I saw an SNES peripheral that was intriguing, but couldn't see a price tag on it and it may have been missing a piece. There are sections for items like board games, DVDs, clothes, and video games, but I feel like a large amount of items in the store are different kinds of action figures, whether that's wrestling, Power Rangers, superheroes, etc. Not my cup of tea, but I could see it really appealing to action figure collectors.
