This place has both, and despite its impressive array of goods from clothes to furniture, it's well organized and easy to navigate. I'm normally a neutral-color dresser but some of the clothes encourage me to step out of my comfort zone into some louder designs. Additionally, the walls are all lined with non-clothing items for sale -- books, movies, glassware, water bottles, and more. I don't think I've ever come a cross a thrift store with this much versatility. Out of the Closet is serious about HIV/AIDS advocacy and they prove it by putting their money where their mouth is. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. Give this place a visit the next time you cruise through Westheimer -- they deserve your time more than you know.

Really something for everyone. Just heed their hours, because they always close earlier than I think they do. Prices are quite fair for Montrose considering what other consignment stores on Westheimer are charging. You can get good quality clothes here for a fair price. Even boutique items are priced fairly in terms of age, brand, material etc. Tags typically read off these things also, which I find immensely helpful. Deals vary by day, and I think it changes frequently enough. If you come here often, you're bound to leave with something.

Everything is clearly marked, priced fairly, and the inventory rotates quickly. I love to stop by on their special store-wide 50% off discount days and check out their dish-ware and women's blazers sections. You never know what you're going to find which makes the visit all the more exciting. They also have a great system to donate items. Pull up to their donation truck in the parking lot and an attendant will assist with unloading your items and providing a drop off receipt if requested. Great service!

Well, maybe if I ever decide to buy myself some Jordans. Maybe the stars will align and they'll happen to have my size. It's so fun, checking out all the different styles from decades past. They also had a decent selection of men's and women's cowboy boots to get you fixed up for HLSR. I noticed there were lots of women size 6.5 so small foot princesses, this place is for you! At least it was yesterday while I was there. It's spacious clean, and there's plenty of dressing rooms. Tons of great finds for actors and theme party or photo ideas.
