I stumbled upon this store after strawberry picking at a local farm. Its pretty huge and somewhat…read moreorganized. All kinds of things. Makes for fun browsing. Housewares, furniture, pictures, decorative items, vinyl records, toys. A little bit of everything. Prices are pretty reasonable. The person who checked me out did a very careful wrapping job on my item, which I appreciated. They also had bargain bins set up outside where everything was a buck. My only complaint: They use mailing labels stuck directly on front of item as price tags. My item has dried glue stuck to the gold leaf that I probably can't remove without damage. Moving to little hang tags on strings that most vintage stores use would help preserve the item. Then again, the price I paid was half than anywhere else and I wasn't buying it as a collector's item anyway, so no biggie. And the label came off another item effortlessly, so it probably depends. If you are worried, just ask to see item without sticker on it so you can inspect it. I'll definitely stop here again, and because of the price points and high inventory, it doesn't affect my rating of this super fun store.

I randomly stopped by this place while visiting family near Vermillion last week. This is a really…read morefun antique/vintage store that entertained us for at least 2 hours. They've got a great selection of stuff - estate jewelry from $5 and up, vintage linens/table cloths, quilts, old toys, framed art, a ton of tea cups/tea pots, clothing, kitchen stuff.....And on and on and on. Prices vary but overall I felt like they were reasonable (unlike in California where I live!). They are located in the basement of an old church, and have an auction every Saturday from 5 pm to 10 pm where you can apparently get terrific deals on furniture, etc. If I lived in Ohio, I would go all the time!

So I was bidding on items at Westlake liquidation center and had been for months. They typically…read morewould post if the item was new, open box return or lightly used which I liked. However I did question a few things that I had won regarding their "newness" as I had purchased a slipcover for a loveseat, not original packing and dog hair embedded in it. I washed it and used it b/ci had bought it for b/c of our dogs. I also purchased a Michael Todd dermaplaner which was listed as "new", but had to question its new state since a couple of blades were missing from the package. Did I say anything to them then? No I gave it a good cleaning and purchased new blades. BUT I had to say something on one of my last purchases. It was listed as a "new" Rowenta clothes iron, so I bid on it, and was quite disappointed to find a battered taped up box, that contained a yellowed from original white color, and smelling of moth balls. No way this was new. So I called the number, and a guy answers the phone, never giving his name. Told him the issue, and he replies nonchalantly with, "if you don't like it, bring it back and we will refund you" (take it back to Avon), I said that's it, just bring it back? His reply was "yep is that all you want?" And when I said yes he hung up. So then I felt compelled to write a message via messenger to Westlake Liquidation, which I did, and I got a reply that "Sorry if there was a mix up on our end, just keep the iron, and a refund will be sent. Which they immediately sent and then BLOCKED me from bidding on their website. When I inquired why I was blocked I was told they have a zero tolerance for rude or aggressive behavior toward their staff. I was like wait, I'm the customer who should have received an apology, but because I shared my disappointment with them on their practices, I was blocked from their site, and no one would even talk with me. So BEWARE IF YOU BID ON THEIR STUFF THAT THEY SAY IS NEW!!!! And DONT YOU DARE SHARE YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT IN HOW THEY HANDLE CUSTOMERS SERVICE.!!!!!

You might as well stop if you like treasure hunting. It's very hit or miss. It's all outside but in a covered area (not a actual building) Usually I see the same people selling every week. Sometimes you'll see new people. Once in a blue moon I will find something worth buying. They have really nice bathrooms, so that's a plus. I wouldn't go out of my way to hit this place up, they are lucky they are by Jamie's, so they can pick up their traffic.

The couple who runs it (and lives next door) is super nice, and they have a small but interesting and diverse collection of antiques - reasonably priced estate jewelry, vintage baby clothes, kitchen items, old furniture and lots of other great things. If you're "antiquing" in the area (a good place to do it), you should stop by Hen's Teeth as well as Millett's Auction House in nearby Vermillion, OH.

The selection varies wildly depending on time of year, but there's always a nice selection of clothing. The concept of the free store originated with the Digger movement of San Francisco of the 1960s. They had a free store on Haight Street where soldiers on leave could walk in looking like a soldier and walk out looking like a hippie, then they would probably go AWOL and ditch Vietnam. Nowadays it's a great way to curb the awful waste of our culture through re-use. As the website says, you need to swipe your card to get into the building. If you can't find someone to let you in, you can call the store and they'll come up and get you.

I love the selection of vintage items that are available, you will find everything from 1920's women's dress shoes to 1970's house coats. The prices can be a little steep on some items but with the vintage stuff you really get a good deal on what you pay for. I have purchased countless dresses and bags (all in excellent condition with no odor or damage to the items) and can always find a unique item on the number of clearance and sale racks placed in the shop. Be sure to browse the accessories and jewelry case at the front of the shop and consider them for your next costume rental if you are looking for a quality outfit that is sure to impress.
