Big thrift store with good selection of clothes, decent amount of other items. Prices are OK,…read morealthough the new pricing system as of late 2025 can be a bit confusing. The people working there are friendly and helpful, although it seems to be a bit understaffed. The Fairlawn Salvation Army thrift store used to be one of my favorites, then they eliminated some of the discount colors and then went to a system with most of the clothes being priced according to what they are, i.e. pants and shirts are $4.99 and there is one color that is half price (although on Wednesdays everything except one color are half price). On my most recent visit they have backtracked a bit so that most of the brick a brack and shoes are individually priced. There are still some good values, however the selection seems to be not as good and it can be confusing what certain things cost. The advantage of the current system is that if you find a high quality piece of clothing you do get it for a good price. The non-clothing selection has definitely decreased, the selection is limited and there are not a lot of interesting items. In the past I have found some really nice items, but now it seems like most of the stuff is nothing really special. Overall a pretty good thrift store, but not worth a trip just for thus store.

Nice variety of items. Fair prices not like other thrift stores that want top dollar. We enjoy…read morelooking around.

Let's put it this way, I've worked food service, retail, and industrial and I've never seen…read moreanywhere else the overseer yells and threatened nearly everybody constantly. I endured 3 years of harassment and it culminated in my termination of employment. I say this happened for two reasons. Retaliation since I filed a workplace harassment complaint. Then, I gave the disrespectful overseer a penny donation for her birthday. She hit me with two verbals and 3 day non pay suspension the day after the donation. Within 2 months they concocted two false claims, while ignoring my side, witnesses, and attempts at camera evidence. Officially, they say I was insubordinate throughout my employment. Supposedly, the day prior to my firing, they had so many reports of me slamming doors, shoving shopping carts, curse words, and insubordination. I seen this thrift store as a chance to really help others and bring some skills to the table. I seen this as a retirement job. They had me in electronics and dockroom processing where I could wipe operating systems to new. I knew some Espanol to help some of the Spanish community. I was lifting to help my health and job. My questions or input is frequently viewed as insubordination. My view was, this is thrift and not new retail. There's a lot of gray lines. My view is that we were more than just thrift titles, we were salesman. It was my goal to sell as many good products as possible without creating hourly pay strain. Do not think for yourself while here. Do not do anything unless instructed to do so while overseer from 2023 is around. Be warned! Many of the employees won't defend themselves because of fear of yelling and adverse consequences. Corporate is blind to the behavior and doesn't value the minimum wage people who make their paychecks happen through donation sales in my opinion. I gave them ample evidence and they didn't help me within the timeframe. If overseer doesn't like you, she will potentially put you in a cycle of abuse. I've seen it. Endured it. Be warned. Positive job performance means nothing to her or corporate in my experience. This isn't a gripe about products, as the products are used and how well are you gonna pull GED and diploma people together for searching out every defect for products under the sun. They don't have warranty, but sometimes you can catch a decent bargain. They sell donated goods, so look at the service as a convenient one stop place for difficult curb, trash, yard, garage finds. Factoring value is ranging from just get you going to some difficult to find new items that are unused. Sometimes, it's a nice resource to pick up cheap emergency odds and ends items like if your bed frame broke, just ask somebody and they can get you a cheap one. It may not be worth your time for job. As a consumer, be savvy and discerning while understanding the items are used and getting knowledgeable employees in that atmosphere can be tough. Be aware. Happy shopping. I'll end this review noting, many of them sleeping in homes piled against me while I'm homeless sleeping in a vehicle. I feel much of that is due to the fear of the overseer yelling and threatening them.

The Avon Salvation Army Thrift store is a decent thrift store, but it just seems to have lost some…read moreof its allure. Like the other Salvation Army Thrifts in the area they have gone to a pricing system for most clothes and shoes where all items in a category are the same price and there is a single color that is 50% off an on Wednesday all but 1 color are 50% off. This system can work well in offering some good bargains if they are receiving items that are desirable, however that seems to be the issue for this store. for the last couple of visits here I have just not found any items that I was interested in. The racks seem to be a bit under stocked, not a lot of selection especially for a large store such as this. The items that are for sale are not anything special or really desirable. In the past I have found some decent clothing items, recently I haven't even found anything I wanted to try on or research. This store has never been really well stocked with decor items or housewares, but there used to be an occasional special item that would catch my eye; now the selection is limited and not very interesting. The Avon Salvation Army is still good if you are shopping for wardrobe basics and you want to fill out your closet; it is less desirable if you are looking for anything high end or really fashionable. The non-clothing items are just so-so. Of course you may have a much different impression. Worth a visit if you are in the area, but not worth a special trip.

I don't know why this happened but I hate it (employee said they don't like it either). When 2 colored tags were 50 percent off and one was .99 cents for clothes, shoes, housewares etc.... I always found SOMETHING! Sad to say I walked out of there for the first time in a LONG time with NOTHING
