I found a baseball mitt shaped chip bowl with no price. I offered $1 and cashier accepted it. This book pictured was written in 1958 and predates "Where the red fern grows." I've received over 200 likes on a Facebook group page. So score! Also found a ceramic pig I didn't need for $1. It's nice to shop Thrift stores not in the metro, as prices sometimes cheaper. Always buy it when you see it. A newer version of this book is on Amazon. Your next treasure may be waiting for you here.

I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. In addition to clothes, there are shoes, cards, jewelry, some handcrafted art, home decor, hospital scrubs, board games, records, magazines and more. Thank you Flying Pig Thrift! Stopped in here on my way up to Little Falls. It took me a while to figure out what color tags were…read moreon sale since they don't post them but they are on announcements and there's a monitor on the ceiling near the checkout area. I found a book and some stick on nails I waited in line for and knew the cashier was not selling items that didn't have tags (there's a sign up front that says this policy too). However I thought all books were a set price and didn't worry until it was my turn and she asked if the book had a tag. I said no and told her where I found the book on the shelf. She said she can't sell it without a tag and just stared at me as if she was waiting for me to either put up a stink or ask more. I just said well I guess I can't buy it then? She set it aside. I did ask if she could just price it or get a manager and she said she was a manager and left it at that. Why was it on the sales floor then without a sticker if you have this policy? She said it would be out on the floor in the next day or so after getting a price. I stopped by later in the week after that to see if I could find the book again but I sadly couldn't find it, I got some other items instead and the gentlemen this time was super friendly and was astounded at hearing about my previous visit. If I knew about their policy beforehand I would have just taken a sticker off one item and put it on the book...I won't stop here again as it's out of the way.

Goodwill is expensive too now, but at least video games and DVDs have a set price. I just walked out after they wanted $14 for donated DVDs. Unthinkably high price. I'll give the store credit for its cleanliness and organization, but shopping has become very difficult.
