I went in looking for vintage sheets, and I found several nice ones at 50% off the marked price! I also was looking for irons (my cats always knock mine over and break them, so I love a thrift store iron). Unfortunately the only two they had were Proctor Silex brand (about $20 new) for $11.99. No thanks, the Goodwill I usually go to sells irons for $5.99. They had a lot of decent looking clothes at reasonable prices. I noticed a lot of Talbot items. The mix of things in the housewares department was mostly just average. I'll go back if I'm in the area, but it's not worth a special trip. read more

I am here to gripe about the absolute barnacle running the donation drop off door. Only one person can donate at a time? Only one rolling donation bin can be used at a time - by anyone? AND, the gatekeeper has to hold onto the bin and inspect everything that goes inside of the bin? Then he makes people move their cars because he doesn't want to roll his bin (singular) back and forth. I've been donating here for a long time and today's experience was very weird. Stamford might be a better option in the future. read more

this goodwill is super large! they have furniture and lots of paintings as well. also had public bathrooms (very important to me, especially when you're from out of town and just drank a ton of water lol). selection was good. prices were fair, better than many goodwills these days. will definitely be back! read more

The Goodwill stores use to be a place to pick up deals and bargains..I have been noticing that the bargains are getting harder to find. Some of the pricing is becoming comparable to price you see for brand new items at Walmart or Amazon. There used to be items like jewelry that you can pick pieces but they are no longer available in store and can only be gotten in 'lots' online. I would refuse to pay for used clothing at prices that are near prices for brand new. The better items are only being available online. You can still find a good deal but need to know your prices . Goodwill needs to go back to its roots. read more

I try to get to this GW a few times a week, and generally get a few things each time. I enjoy the staff, and there is a good variety of merchandise. It's sad that corporate has forced them, like so many locations, to submit many of the better items to online buying, but there are still good buys. read more

Lived in Norwalk from 2011-2012 and used to come to this place whenever my ex-girlfriend would get angry and throw me out temporarily. Probably didn't help that I would come back with more old lady windbreakers and straw hats and other stupid crap, which more often than not was the reason I was in the dog house in the first place. Well anyway, I recently found myself in the area and stopped in to see what kinda crap they had these days. Not much has changed. Which is to say, sadly, that the clothing section leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of clean, newer-looking stuff. If you're looking for typical thrift store clothes, you'll be disappointed. But hey, if you want to buy something that some miserable boring bastard got from TJ Maxx or Marshalls within the past five years and never bothered to sweat, piss or die in it, then by all means, shop away. However, if like me, you're looking for something that smells like moldy basement, rancid soup or like a corpse was the last person to wear it, this place is a waste of time. 99% of the clothing here does not belong on the racks of a thrift store. Now, on the other hand, this store does have a nice separate section devoted to furniture and housewares. Back when I lived here I found a quirky little blue tile-top coffee table, which I still have. It's broken and looks like shit, but I've been stalling my girlfriend from getting rid of it. We actually came here hoping to find furniture, but had no luck. However, my girlfriend picked out some nice martini and margarita glasses and I wavered over some depression glass pieces and what may or may not have been a carnival glass bowl (what the hell do I know?) and they did have quite a few coffee mugs, however, none that fit my collection. Overall, not a bad place to come and kill some time and buy some grimy old glasses and stupid-looking furniture if you live nearby and your girlfriend kicks you out because she can't stand another second of you chain-smoking and watching C-Span all day while wearing a child's costume cape. This is one of the bigger Goodwills I've been to. It's pretty enormous, with lots of racks of clothes, and a pretty large furniture and housewares section. Like most Goodwills, it's kind of disorganized, but if you've ever gone to any other Goodwills, this is par for the course. Employees here are friendly and helpful. No complaints from me. read more

I thought this place would be pretty cool, until I was pretty much followed by one employee, and then stared at by a few others. Made it EXTREMELY un welcoming and uncomfortable for my family and I. No one even said anything, I walked in, smiled and the girls proceeded to continue talking among themselves and then follow me through the small area I was trying to look in. As soon as I walked in I was given an unpleasant look by staff. I'm big on customer service and making people feel invited and comfortable so this turned me off right away. The layout of the store is organized and for the most part clean. I didn't find much especially not in clothing. Over all I'm not a fan of this location and I've been here a few times hoping it would be different as far as staff and selection but I was disappointed. read more

This was my little secret when I was living in the area, but now that I'm not here anymore, I'm letting fellow yelpers/thrifters know about this thrift shop. It was one of my go tos for nice clothing and for furnishing my apartment when I was in the area. Although the proportion of high-end:random-stuff is lower than at the Goodwill in Westport, there are still plenty of great finds if you stop by periodically and have a keen eye -- and for much cheaper than at the Westport location, too (sometimes as much as half price!). I've found a Coach purse here for $20, whereas the same Coach purse was $40 at Westport (yeah, there are a lot of Coach bags floating around secondhand shops in the Fairfield County). Cleanliness-wise, this Goodwill is about as clean as most of the Goodwills I've visited (not sparkling and pristine, but not grimy and gross either), and things are organized well enough that you can sift through clothing on racks and browse furniture without having to do much physical digging. If you're looking for nice/interesting fashion and decor, need to furnish your place, or just enjoy the thrill of the hunt that is thrifting, add this store to your list. read more

My first time in the area and visiting this thrift store. Yes, they have a lot of higher-end brands, but I was disappointed in the cost of clothing in general. Every pair of pants that I looked at was over $10 and all of the everyday dresses I saw were $14.99+. That is ridiculous for a used, non vintage, non designer dress. I found a nice pair of coach pumps, but they were heavily used and costs $30. It hurt, but I put them back. I also found a few coach bags and a fake dolce and gabbana that costs way to much for what it wasn't. The lady behind the register was alone and overwhelmed, but she took the time to look through all my stuff to tell me the prices of things that were unmarked with a price. They really, really need a sign at the entrance that tells people what each color means for the in-price tagged things. read more

You can find everything cheaper on Ebay, but Ebay does not take EBT (hint hint hint) No seriously, you can find everything in this store cheaper on Ebay. Used clothing... Jos A Bank shirts for $15? Thomas Pink shirts for $35? Hickey Freeman suits for $50-$100? A used suit...you kidding me? Some of these are decent brands but that's how much a boutique store that specializes on ebay selling something in excellent condition might be able to get... Much of the time it is severely flawed like it has holes or crotch staining. The only possible excuse I can think of for the prices at this place is that a large percentage of people are just buying this stuff with EBT. This is THE MOST EXPENSIVE goodwill in all of CT if you can believe it. More expensive than even WESTPORT. Honestly I am just blown away and I do not know what the deal is with this place. read more

I will never donate another item to the goodwill. This also goes for my organization. The management are rude and don't know or appreciate the laws. An item that was locked up in the cage was incorrectly priced and they refused to honor the price. I even showed the manager the laws regarding items being priced incorrectly and he flat out refused to honor price. This isn't the first run in with this guy. When he managed the goodwill in Southport I had a very bad experience with him as well but didn't take the time to write a review. GOODWILL; please hire better management who are concerned about good customer service. It's not that I didn't get my way but the fact of how disrespectful the manager was. read more
