The need is immense in todays trying and expensive times. In addition to that they are helping to avoid clothing going into landfills. After volunteering here I will kindly recommend that you wash all clothing before donating. Volunteers will sort through to make sure only clothing with no rips/stains move on to be donated. All other clothing gets sent to a facility to be used in textile recycling or thrift store use which the organization receives money for so they can purchase much needed clothing items.

ALL the pieces I brought to the check-out had colored plastic tags poked through the items. The colors correspond to whether the item is 50% off that day or not. The clothing has colored plastic but are not individually priced with a paper tag. THUS all the prices are what are posted on the SIGNS at the ENDS of the racks throughout the store. What I am talking about in my review is how, when you get to the check-out, they decide NOT TO HONOR the posted prices on the SIGNS they have posted throughout the store (see photo of one that I attached.) I am NOT talking about "nefarious" behavior where someone has REMOVED an individually priced paper tag on a clothing item, because your store has VERY FEW individually priced pieces of clothing on the racks.

No. Was it in very good condition, structurally sound, required a little Resolve or a little TLC - yes. These were quality used furniture that someone who has little or none or whose looking to personalize their furniture would buy. The driver was rude. Telling an 80+ year woman to remove a furniture cover. A pulled up a corner & said no. A chair that has always been covered. Neither I, my family, friends, coworker (current & past, shall know this organization is not a worthwhile Christian organization. Thankfully I have found a worthwhile organization who gives back to all & whose volunteers will gladly buff & spot clean furniture to give to someone who needs it.

I was simply looking for help as she left the front counter unattended. Unfortunately I had a similar issue at Commack Savers. I asked older women price for some old coins and currency and surprisingly was told not for sale and I asked why and she said she was buying all for herself. She had always been pleasant to me and I blame management/ownership as she very casually answered me and upon waiting outside for Uber i witnessed young men who take drive up donations openly talking some old video games and a cool old boom box radio and bringing inside saying that they were buying and had made a big score. I will give Salvation Army 1 more try and Savers fortunately gets so many donations I have been able to find some great items very cheaply. The best deals by far are on very large items that they put outside or just inside the door. I suppose they price incredibly cheaply simply because they must sell fast because of the large size they must turn over asap. Happy Hunting

When I objected, the work was already partially done, which is exactly how this pricing model works: by the time you understand what you're being charged, items are already at the road and you're negotiating from a losing position. Here's what I want every potential customer to understand: their pricing is based on volume, not effort. A bulky item that could be dismantled into a small pile in five minutes gets billed as a full bulky item. Dismantling furniture is trivial for a company that does this all day -- but they will not volunteer to do it, because bulk is how they charge you more. Before you book them or anyone like them: Ask if any item can be dismantled -- then do it yourself first. A disassembled bed frame or desk costs a fraction of an intact one. Get the total price in writing before a single item is touched. Do not let work begin on a verbal ballpark. Get quotes from 1-800-GOT-JUNK, local independent haulers, or your town's bulk pickup -- many municipalities take furniture at the curb for free or a small fee. I later called to discuss the charge and never received a call back, which tells you how much they value customers after the credit card clears. $265 for 10 minutes. This afternoon, I took a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather and stopped by your store wearing a dress and a jean jacket -- the jacket I walked in with. After making a quick loop through the store, I was on my way out when an associate abruptly stopped me and accused me of stealing the very jacket I entered with. I was appalled and humiliated. I have never in my adult life experienced such embarrassment, and I am still visibly shaken by the incident. Not only was the accusation entirely unfounded, but the manner in which it was handled was deeply disrespectful and completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be made to feel like a suspect, especially without cause. Beautiful…read moreplace - outdoor picnic tables, rock walls, string lights and tangles of grapevines spreading down a gently rolling hill. Anyway, as soon as we got there I let my wife out of the car and told her I was going to go buy some crap at the nearest Goodwill. She was a little disappointed, but by now she's used to that. So I ended up at this Goodwill in Shelton and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed as well. While most of these little factory towns in the Naugatuck Valley had a decidedly rundown rustbelt vibe to them, this Goodwill was located in a big splashy new shopping center with those corny fake facades and the interior was brightly lit, nice-smelling and overall pretty clean. Right off the bat, none of this does anything for me. But I press on. As far as the goods are concerned, this place is on par with any of the other countless Goodwill's around Connecticut, which means mostly newer, boring clothing - fleeces, khakis and checkered shirts for the men and Walmart tops and endless aisles of bland "coatigan"-type thingies for the women. You will also find a few racks of housewares items which consist of mostly damaged dishware, Boyd's Bears figurines and generic wall art. The media selection will contain tons of not very good books and CDs and a smaller amount of really not very good records. However, today I got lucky and I scored two old plaid blazers, a couple pairs of sunglasses and a giant 6XL 3D-printed shirt with a rooster holding a machine gun. Turns out the blazers had been feasted upon by moths or weevils or some other blazer-eating insects and the sunglasses were prescription, but the 6XL rooster shirt? That is simply pure perfection! Now, my wife puts up with a lot, but ditching her friends at a winery so I could pay ten bucks for a very large man's rooster shirt, might be a bridge too far so I smuggled that one home to make an appearance at some future date to be determined.
