They won't ask a man to do that. I'm 70 years old and have trouble standing while working. I got light headed while standing there and thought I was going to pass out. The volunteer next to me said she was a nurse and I was glad that she said that. A man brought his wife's consignments in and they asked where his wife was and he said she was waiting in the car. Next time I will send in my husband and wait in the car.They don't welcome people who come into shop. I did see 2 women stocking shelves who were nice. The rest of the volunteers just want you to get out of their way so that they can get the clothes on the racks. I've beed consigning there for several years and they still have no idea that I'm a long-term consignee. Why not come in early to price and stock. They are the rudest shop in downtown Venice.

If I could give Port Charlotte's Habitat for Humanity a zero, I would do it. I had a bedspread and…read moreshams that I was going to donate to Habitat for Humanity. We were in Port Charlotte and saw the sign that said donations were in the back of the store. We drove behind the store where a volunteer was standing by the wall smoking a cigarette. I started to get out of the car and give the package to her when she said "donations are at the end of the building". Which, by the way, was 10ft. away from her. So I got back in the car and drove down to the end. No one was there. I am going to assume the girl already knew this but didn't choose to help me out. There was a sign that said "if no one is here, to bring the donations into the store. This would have required me to drive around the block again to get to the front of the store. So I sat the donation down inside the door and went back to my car. A guy came up (I wish I had gotten his name along with the girl) and said I couldn't leave it there without someone being there to pick it up. He wouldn't take it either. By this time, I am pretty pissed. All I wanted to do is donate to a worthy cause and these two lazy asses did nothing to help me out. So I picked up the donation and told the guy, I will be taking it to Goodwill. Both of these people were so rude and unwilling to give a damn and I will never go back there again. I realize these people are volunteers but no one is forcing them to work there. The management at Port Charlotte needs to check on their people or they will be losing more business. I hate lazy ass people!!!
