This store is large and located in a shopping center in White Hall. The store was clean and organized. I would definitely go back- but it's not close so for me a destination place. This store is absolutely massive. And the carts? Chef's kiss. Smooth, solid, high-quality carts that roll like butter. Think Target carts, not the janky, squeaky chaos you usually get at thrift stores. I appreciated that more than I expected to. Prices were mostly average. Not amazing, not outrageous. Vans were around $14.99, which isn't great but also not the worst I've seen lately. Home goods weren't huge, but the section was decent and worth a look. I didn't find any jaw-dropping designer labels, but I did find some solid pieces for myself, so it wasn't a wasted trip. Bonus points because they were running orange tags at 75% off, which definitely helped soften the pricing sting. Would I come back? Yes, if I'm already in the area. Would I make a 45-minute drive just for this store again? Probably not. Overall, CommunityAid Temple is clean, well-organized, easy to shop, and way less stressful than a lot of thrift stores. When…read moreyou enter you go into a small room with lots of home goods-- furnishings, appliances, books, lamps, decor, etc. They have lots of things, from washing machines to cool midcentury modern dining tables to seasonal decor to a pottery kiln (the last time we were there!). It's clear that the stuff in this room has been carefully picked through and the person making the selections on what to include has a good sense of taste. Then, if you turn left, you enter a big room with lumber, sinks, hardware, paint (!!), windows, cabinets, piping, light fixtures, and much more. I found two light fixtures that were super close to something specific I've been looking for. The problem is, the things I've found online have been over $1000. These were about $10. Not everything is in great condition but it requires a lot less patience and sorting through than your average antique store. You could restore a historic home using tons of stuff from here, and that's what we intend to do! We've also heard from others that the things here turn over fairly quickly, so it's worth going again and again. (We intend to do this as well! :) )

You'll find a lot of appliances, furniture, cabinetry, doors, tiling, some home decor items, and what would probably be best described as contractor supplies such as cleaning supplies, adhesives, and various small items. You can get some great prices and depending what your needs are, it's probably worth a look. The staff and patrons are all very friendly. Ample parking in the shopping center's lot. Handicap parking is nearby.

Found a jacket in the no tag section where prices go based off the sign. At the check out, the lady tells me that this coat "should have" a tag because it's Columbia brand, and that it would be $4 more than what the sign was BECAUSE they up-charge for Columbia. She asked if that was okay, and told her that the sign said $8 for jackets. She then proceeded to say "it's okay not to buy it". Maybe $4 is not a lot to the average person, but it is a lot to most people going to thrift stores, including myself. You got the item for free and I'm coming to a thrift store because I can't afford to buy retail as a student... I ended up not buying because of that increase in price. Again, the jacket was in no means "good condition", it just fit and I needed a jacket. It's unprofessional to up-charge a worn item at the cash register just because you THINK it should be more.
