12/2/23 I loved this Good Will- BUT- item after item after item had no prices! Goodwill normally won't allow you to purchase items without prices-but there was a wooden toy I wanted for my grand baby. I asked a worker about the price policy and if he could price something. Apparently only a manager can price something. I was able to catch the manager at a good time and he priced the item I wanted so I was happy happy happy!!! I was told by the worker that a manager CAN price merchandise but it doesn't mean they WILL. I would definitely come back I love Good Will!! It's the BEST!! read more

It was great for vintage finds, in my opinion. The prices were... well, I think we have to accept Goodwill has gone up quite a bit. Still, this store at least had a 50% off tag day. Every single GW is different it feels like, but the ones that at least run the tag days are great provided you find items in that tag color (alas, I paid full price). I only removed a star because the organization seemed odd. Large sizes were mixed in with the Small and Medium and the sizes on the tags would say 14/15 or 12/13, just uncommon Womens sizing. My husband needed old clothes to help my daughter paint her apartment. He's not a thrifter. I am. As such, I say with conviction, "this Goodwill is sub- par." They don't have nearly as much merchandise as other Goodwills. Plus, they're more expensive than thrift stores I'm familiar with. (Who do they think they are? Neiman Marcus?!) My former Goodwill discounts the color of the week ALL week. Not here. Good thing I asked. In order to get 50% off, I had to register my phone number. So I did. Yes, T ended up with someone's cast-off shorts and tee shirt. But as we paid too much, I'm hoping he doesn't get paint on them! read more

This goodwill is very clean but there is absolutely no organization to their clothing even though there is supposed to be. It was all mixed - maternity, mens, women's and then the sizes too - even though it was supposed to be sized. The building isn't large it's definitely one of the smaller goodwills I've been to and there is not a lot of merchandise. I don't think I saw anyone putting out any new merchandise the entire time I was there. There were a few good pieces but for the most part it was a lot of junk - super old worn clothing that I don't think anyone would purchase - honestly a lot of it would be better suited as rags. They definitely need to be more selective when putting out pieces. The parking lot is pretty narrow and tight as well. I like this location. Parking: Lot Service: The workers are very nice and helpful. Store: pretty organized. Some times the items are very dated. It's a hit or miss when finding things. I wish the display sign for the discounts were bigger. There are signs when you first walk in and again near the register but that's it. The signs at the ends of racks give you the price; unless another price is shown. You will need a Good Will V.I.P card in order to get the color discount. You can sign up with the cashier. The furniture is so so. Overall I'm ok with this location and will still keep coming. read more

I just picked up an item I purchased through Shopgoodwill.com and it is way more damaged than described. Extremely disappointed because this was not a cheap dress. There was staining that was not disclosed and a 2-3 inch hole where the stitching has come apart at the hem. This photo was taken on a mannequin so there is no excuse for not disclosing this damage. The hem was also said in the listing to be able to "let down" and upon further investigation, the hem was severly cut and cannot be altered.So basically, they are describing items in a way to make the sale but what you see is not what you get. They do not allow you to look at the item in the store before accepting it so you have to take it regardless. Not a happy customer. I definitely got ripped off in this case. EDIT: I filed a complaint with Paypal (where I paid) and ShopGoodwill reached out and allowed me to return the item. They really shouldn't be selling items online if they cant describe the item accurately. read more

I have been to this Goodwill a number of times when I'm in the area Dog Sitting. I often go to Goodwill stores and enjoy it very much. I'm an avid donator as well. Goodwill stores all over the state of Pennsylvania have increased their prices tremendously. I'm not really sure who prices their items because there are number of things that I can buy brand new in a store for less than they are selling it for and damage and used condition. Now they are receiving these items for free. I understand there is overhead And employee costs. I do believe some of these Goodwill thrift stores have volunteer employees from what I've been told elsewhere. Taking all that into consideration I still find many of their prices to be ridiculous. Common sense should say to them if they lower the prices, they can move the items quicker and make a larger profit and make room for more donations. Some of the prices on furniture are just stupid ridiculous! I saw a sideboard in one that was completely damaged and had a marble top which is pretty much outdated, and they were asking $1300 for it. $200 might've been a fair price, but I still would've passed on it because it was in terrible condition. These stores are all hit and miss but I have found that this particular Goodwill store on Lancaster Avenue is terrible. The few employees there seem to be nice, but the place is an absolute disaster. That being said, I am Dog Sitting again so I plan on visiting later today. If things have improved, I will absolutely update this review. Alrighty.... I went again today. This was my first time visiting this location. I visited on 6/4/19. The store is located on the mainline, so I went in here expecting to find some high-end articles...but everything here was mediocre...I do remember seeing a few Coach pocket books, Anne Cole...nothing else remember-able. They had a nice selection of pictures, with different sizes and different genres of art. You can tell that they do try to keep the store somewhat organized because the general merchandise of articles were colored by aisle. I saw a child size bicycle priced for about $49 and I thought that was over priced because if you add another $20 and you can buy a brand new bike from Walmart and clearly this bicycle has been pretty used. THey had a pretty decent amount of other children items such as games, toys, and alot of stuffed animals. A cast iron frying pan that I found by the same brand and in better condition was half the price at the Whiteland store location (just a few miles down the road), and literally double the price here at the Berwyn Location. My cashier was MArilyn she was just okay, I also remember that she didn't ask me if I wanted to round up to make a donation and she seemed like she didn't want to place my picture in a separate bag from another picture that I had brought. I had to tell her that literally I was just at another store and then cashier didn't bag my item correctly that my item broke and I didn't want that to happen again. I noticed that People say that this location has an online auction which explains why there wasn't many descent items available on the floor...perhaps those other Yelps are accurate. read more

Goodwill is no longer goodwill! It should be renamed bad will ! I have often donated in the hopes of helping people and gone inside to shop but their prices are so expensive I doubt that people in need can afford them! The place has an awful odor and the things are scattered! For the prices they charge it is a terrible place! Especially considering their inventory is donated and at no cost to them! read more

This store recently reorganized & put all of their toys atop clothing racks through the store (where shoes typically go) to prevent kids from looking at toys/playing on their level. Their employees are mostly grouchy older men, so I cannot say I'm surprised read more

DONATIONS I only have donation experience, so this is not for the store itself. Have made a few donations now and it's been positive. * * * TIP * * * They recycle old computer/electronic equipment for free (except for tube TVs), which is helpful when you need to locate a reliable place for that. Otherwise you'd have to pay, so YAY Goodwill, thank you! The man in back taking donations is really nice and funny, and has "a body like Arnold with a Denzel face..." definitely a nice bonus to a lady's day...even the soccer moms noticed. read more

They recently restructured the homegoods and they are stored on cheap plastic bookshelves? The selection is much worse and, as always, they sell trash and expired goods/food among the home items. Not really worth it considering the upcharge in clothing items there recently. read more

I feel that the wares available in store are carefully edited from the donations made in this rather affluent area. More desirable items are culled to sell via the goodwill online auction. Take a look at the items available for auction from the Berwyn location...now try to find any of those brands in the brick and mortar store. I bet you won't have any luck. Is this business model is growing generally across all goodwill stores? What's left in store are mostly overpriced used goods from retailers like Target, Walmart, etc. It's no longer worth spending the time to search in the actual store for a quality item at a frugal price. It didn't use to be like that, imo. The goodwill organization insists that their profits return to the community and therefore their sales model is justified and even admirable (instead of being just plain old greedy & profit-driven, like any other store.) It'd be great if the in-store consumer could also truly benefit from the goodwill's presence in their community and have access to the goods donated there. read more

Very courteous and kind staff that keeps the store looking very clean and nice. When it is time to close they will politely let you know. I think because of the courteous staff most shoppers Take their time when returning items to the racks and shelves. This helps keeps the store clean, organized and easy to shop. I Highly recommended this store. They are in a great location with plenty of parking. For being on the main line their prices are very reasonable. Every item is extremely overpriced, and picked over. I have been there twice and left empty handed both times. The selection is not useful or good quality items. This is the worst goodwill I have ever been to. Hopefully management reads all these reviews and change there business operations completely. Sounds like everyone is saying they sell all good items exclusively on the website. Please start serving the community that actually walks through your doors! I would love to have a goodwill i could shop at. Check out the neighborhood league shop and the alley door in Wayne they have great finds! read more

I used to be the area every day so stopped in a lot and usually found something good, sometimes great. Overall, compared to other goodwills in the area this one is up there but like any thrift it's hit or miss depending on when you go. It is frustrating that they pull better items for online sales but I suppose that is their option and they stand to make more money that way. read more

Good customer service. Be careful if you buy furniture, and you see it in good shape, there is no guarantee that by the time you load it in your car/truck, the furniture will not be torn or scratched. the workers do not care. they will drag it and drop it. read more

This location is very disappointing to say the least. There was almost no clothes on the racks and the ones there were so overpriced for what they were. I've read, and it makes sense, that they pick all brand name things and place them online. I'm sure that's true b/c everything they were selling was awful! Used ladies bathing suits? Really? Based on the area of the Main Line, I expected to find at least something but nothing for kids or mens or housewares. Front employees were friendly, but no sense in going if you don't have nicer brand name items on the racks. read more

I thought this would be a really nice thrift store because of it's location but I wasn't impressed. I was not a fan of how the baby/kids clothing wasn't sorted at all. Maybe I just have too high of expectations but my favorite thrift store is super organized. I probably won't be back. read more

Where else to find brand new curtains, ready-to-refinish furniture, maternity clothes, baby gear, dinner plates, mirrors and artwork, a shiny new iPhone case, and a random assortment of everything else you have been hankering for (though perhaps didn't know it) at a fraction of the price you'd pay anywhere else? Ok, I love the other goodwill around here,but this one is crazy. Everything is way overpriced. I saw a used plastic storage container for 12.97. I had just left Target the SAME thing was on sale there for $8.50! There was another rack that was 30.00 here saw it at Target for $20.. I don't know who prices thing there but they might want to go comparison shopping. There were scratched up furniture pieces for $150. Something that at other store might be marked $50. It seems like they are marking up the prices for the area. I watch some young people look at the same items and remark we can get it cheaper new! I love thrifting but will not be back to this store. This is my opinion, but Goodwill isn't the best place to shop clothes. It's really expensive, although its nothing we can't handle. If you go there for a sale, I would suggest not going. For example, if they say everything that has the color of the week on it is 50% off, that color won't ever be there on the shelves. There is one thing that's good though, and that's the parking. Other than that, the place is a tiny bit below average. read more
