None of this is "general store" unless you've got a cozy 6 bedroom cabin or a chalet at Aspen. You want to look outdoorsy without being outdoorsy- catered clamping is roughing it. Everything is lovely, and $55 is a sale price for a shirt. Three melamine stacking trays in different sizes will run you $85. Spotted a thick book on how to go camping that will not help you go camping but will look great on a shelf or a side table. Expensive, tasteful, fun to visit. I am not their customer.

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I asked a worker about the price policy and if he could price something. Apparently only a manager can price something. Every single GW is different it feels like, but the ones that at least run the tag days are great provided you find items in that tag color (alas, I paid full price). I only removed a star because the organization seemed odd. Large sizes were mixed in with the Small and Medium and the sizes on the tags would say 14/15 or 12/13, just uncommon Womens sizing. So I met this girl in the mens bathroom of a train station...long story...but i knew when I saw her on the floor covered in what I thought was her vomit...but turns out to be someone else's...this girl is special. Very special. For our one week anniversary I decided to do something special...she hated it and unfortunately you can't return used items to that kind of store. Our one month anniversary she was stricken with trichinosis from my romantic dinner I prepared... ...for Christmas I decided that I would not fail. So I was collecting cans on the side of the road when someone drove by and threw an old toaster at me and hit me right in the head. When I came through I stood up and saw "Accent on Design." I went in and I was impressed by the selection of new and gently worn clothing, mostly gently worn, and their amazing selection of vintage costume jewelery. I bought a pair of earrings and a necklace for my special lady. Something that was beautiful, affordable, original, and not easily pawned to buy cans of keyboard cleaner...another long story. She loved the pieces and was very happy to know that this wasn't just some mass produced pieces that anyone can get at a department store. I have even been back for another set of earrings. The ladies who work at the store are great! They give good advice, they are very helpful and really make you want to come back. I find they mostly have a price SET for certain items and it doesn't necessarily matter if they come from high end stores or run of the mill ones. Also you get a percentage based on that set price.............30% 40%. And when you get your check when the contract is finished it really is a small pittance, but if you do it regularly it adds up. I'm quite surprised at some of the clothing brands they do take cause some come from TJ Maxx which is in the same shopping center, some come from ummmmm Kohl's or Boscov's.............but hey if it's your style than go for it. And they do have some nice shoes and purses. I suppose the people who have high end name brand make out the best cause the percentage is higher. I would definitely visit the store if you thrift just know it's pricey- but you do get clean clothes.
