Gordon road location takes furniture and is always polite. Also some prices are fair for the merchandise.

This new Goodwill location replaces the one that was behind the Wawa on Jefferson Davis Highway. Friendly staff, great selection, amazing deals, unique, and exciting finds. Of course the value cannot be beat. Be sure to note the tag color that are half price on any given day that take savings to the next level. And do beware the prowling Mormon youths recruiting for the LDS Church. They were coming out of the woodwork down many an isle with comical frequency. read more

When I went to the donation center today around 3 o'clock the worker wanted me to put all of my bags in the bins that were outside I proceeded to tell him that I have a disability that I have trouble putting the bags in there he then left and I believe it was his supervisor came out and she told me "didn't he tell you to put them in the bin "and I said I have a handicap that I can't lift it that high high and she said I should've brought somebody with me to put them in the bin and I told her so why can't he do it he's a worker she then proceeded to pick them up and throw them in the bin herself then I asked her if I could have a receipt and she told me that if she could pick up the pen I told her to stick it up her ass and I left. I am over 70 years old and have a bad back and neck problems I will never use these donation centers again read more

Some of the clothes are heavily overpriced. For example, jeans are $7 (holy camoly!) I found it funny that they were trying to sell older iPhone/iPod radios and alarm clocks for $10 or more, and yet I bought two nicely vintage clock radio's for only $3 a pop. They didn't have a great selection of ties, but I did buy two of them for $2 each. The glassware was fairly decent - I bought six wine glasses and with tax I paid $6.25. This store is a mixed bag. However, the one thing that really HONKS ME OFF about this store is that my T-Mobile phone signal barely works inside the store, but if you go all the way in the back, you have no service whatsoever. I literally had to pick up items, put them in my cart, and then I had to go up to the front near a window and see if the item was a bargain or a ripoff. read more

One of the better Goodwills, and also the oldest on in the area (to my knowledge). You can sometimes find some decent electronics at a good price. They also sometimes get some good furniture. My only complaint is that the prices have gotten absurdly high on some of the products. Some are even priced more than new, or are just broken (test before you buy). read more

This store has a relatively large selection of ladies clothing and shoes. A lot of kids clothes as well! But I wonder who does the pricing for the items in the store? They are too pricey, IMO. The woman's slacks should not be $6.99 each. Should be around $3.99. The shoes $4.99, I believe, unless otherwise marked. So they go through and price each one accordingly, based on the brand name or "look" of the shoes. So the good shoes are close to what you would pay in a boutique or in a real retail store! DVDs are over-priced. Handbags are up there as well. Who price these items?...YOU need to be fired. I saw a Coach handbag in their locked glass display case marked $99!...lol It was the kind of Coach bag you would find in the Coach outlet and you could get it really cheap at the Coach outlet with 30% off!! Now, I believe they sift through each item before it goes on to the floor and remove all the real good paintings, jewelry, handbags, shoes...etc to sell on their online Goodwill auction site. What a bummer. TIP: If you donate clothes at this Goodwill, you can choose to get either a 20% off (entire purchase) coupon or a receipt for tax purposes. After you hand over the clothes and they ONLY mention a receipt, kindly say "no, I just want a coupon"....or vice versa! You can only use the coupon mon-thur. read more

I've shopped here many times over the years and DONATED my things as well. Usually this is one of the better ones in the area and today it was one of the worst. I go in there looking for videogames or Magic the Gathering cards. They rarely have magic the gathering cards because all the other nerds know the best one, or some of them, are usually donated or thrown away. So they get sold fast. So I found a pack today. I actually found one. So I smile and keep looking. I was like holy crap maybe my luck will turn around. I hear off to the corner a crotchety old woman asking if I need help with anything. I say no and I keep looking. She eventually comes over and stands right where I am, with a buggy in between us. I look up and she has GIANT eyes. She's staring a hole in me and has really wide eyes. I eventually ask her if she needs anything. She says No. I get tired of being loomed over just because I'm young in stores so I leave. As I walk away she keeps talking and saying things like, 'Did you wanted to be waited on?' and things of the sort. As I leave the store, and my foot is just out the door, she says something like, 'Stuff isn't free.' So basically she was watching over me looking to see if I'd steal. I wasn't going to steal something from that, or any store, ever. F u for ruining my day lady. Fu. read more

My second time at goodwill and this one was a unpleasant experiences... yes it's a charity shop....you can donate and buy stuff...pretty much used stuff..The stuff they sell are actually pretty outdated and tacky... dishes that people don't want go there...books that people already read ...baby clothes with stains....wall-pictures... posters...clothes...etc.. Area is extremely disorganized... Came here to look for some cheap tools... just because... everything thing is stacked in piles on racks...Looked like a bunch of mess...who the hell wants to shop in a pile of mess... They organized everything by color...even tools... So how are your suppose to find stuff...basically they just told me to search the area "if they have it they have it if they don't then sorry" ... I rather got to a normal store and buy something new and fairly nice then something I have to go out of my mind searching for... They thought by making the area look like an organized rainbow everything is organized... Never again! read more

I live in NoVa came by this place by luck on my way back from vacation. Good finds good prices. I wish I lived closer I would definitely visit it more often. Right by the exit so if you get stuck in traffic take a break and stop by :) read more

This location was fairly well kept and the employees were friendly. The home goods were organized by color which I thought would be useful if you're trying to find something to match your color scheme. They also had a very wide selection of clothing. They had some pretty interesting stuff here. read more

I love goodwills. Clothes-you can get name brand stuff for one low price. Shoes-name brand, sometimes hardly worn. Books-if you love to read, this is the place for you. Paperbacks are $1. Toys-most children don't care if their toys are new. Get an expensive toy and clean it up! Movies are $3, which I think is a little expensive because it could be really scratched up. Electronics-everything from microwaves to VHS players. And everything in between. I frequent goodwills a lot, this one is no different than others in cleanliness or organization. Everything is used, so if you don't like the thought of that then this isn't the place for you. Every once in a while I'll find something new but not very often. And on Sundays this goodwill has $.99 noodles, everything that has the noodle color that is posted for that day is $.99! read more

Great little thrift shop with great deals if you are alright with second hand...

I WAS a faithful Goodwill shopper until last week. I picked out 2 bras to purchase, they had no price on them and were on the end cap stating $3.49. When I got to the register, the clerk told me "No, they have to have a noodle and these are much more than $3.49". Whoa, wait a minute, three people acknowledged that they knew these items had just been put out that morning. Why would the price go up because these 3 failed to do anything about it at the time. I did write it up to the Regional Manager who sent me some lame "form letter". This is clearly not fair to the customer. Come on ladies, they were not even Victorias secret. WTH. I USED to round-up faithfully but not anymore and the shame of it is----I would have rounded up twice the difference just this week alone but I do not endorse unfair business practices. You will not see this in Kohls or Macys. So be VERRRRYYY Careful when you shop this store. read more
