Well I donated my kids newborns clothes etc,, and was told i'd get a small tax write off and as a single mom of two...it would've made a difference not a big one but still. apparently i was supposed to do the item wrote off with them,, was never aware of that. they just took my clothes and handed me a piece of paper...great for me haha yay. read more

Asst manager is rude! Overpriced an item of ours and refuses to accept the fact. Line was way too long

We went in, everything was disorganized. It's fine, we get it. When we went to check out, another lady and us were confused where the line started but no one helped. When another customer told us, the cashier made it seem like we were cutting in line and apologized to the other customer despite us being there first. She then went on to make racist remarks and assuming we only spoke Spanish. As we left, you bet we said something back in Spanish to her. read more

I had clothes, shoes, books, drawers, and other items to donate . I told the guy I had a big bag of clothes to donate and he said okay bring them in. My husband put the bag in my car because I can't pick the bag up being 7 months pregnant. So I asked the guy could someone help me and they said it's not their responsibility. I get it but that's common courtesy. People are really inconsiderate these days. What happened to customer service? read more

OK so most people know that goodwill has ridiculous prices. I mean these clothes are given away at no cost to Goodwill at all, total and complete profit. With that being said, the prices should definitely reflect on that. That's my opinion which is not worth a whole lot I'm sure. I am giving this location four stars because it is usually very neat and clean, the restrooms are kept up and the staff is friendly and helpful. I don't like to shop here simply because of the prices but I still stop in every now and then to drop off donations as well as when I'm looking for a certain item, I never ever find that certain item. I usually just waste my time going into this location and goodwill in general. read more

This place used to be awesome. But somehow the electronics are now priced inline with ebay or other entities. I used to purchase from here, refurbish, replace parts, clean, test, validate results etc and then sell at a small profit. The new pricing model is significantly more than the risk is for me to speculate on the item on the shelf. read more

Went into the Porter, TX location today looking for a coat that fits me. I found one but it was ripped and needed to be cleaned. The store manager was called so I could ask if the coat could be marked down more due to the damage on the coat. The store manager said no, that the coat is $20. I told him I don't have additional money to invest in the coat if the cost is $20. His scarcastic comments embarrassed me in front of other customers and his attitude is contrary to the message that Goodwill advertise's for the community "Goodwill works to enhance people's dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work". I do not have a lot of money and am struggling to make enough money to live. Think twice about the prices/cost on items in the store and how you will treated in the store. read more

I love this location, I got a bebe wintercoat for $14 and online it was over $200! What a steal!! And it was like new!!!

This Goodwill Retail location is awesome. They have literally everything and they play a lot of '60s musical hits all day. I have been there when several shoppers break into a dance or sing along with the music. It's a very happy place and you'll never know what you'll find. And on Wed., anyone over 55 gets 30% off! well got here at 10 while traveling but they don't open till noon on Sundays! lights on, ppl working inside but doors closed!!! what the hell? I had to leave...they lost customers big time! not just me, but 3 other ppl showed up at the door waiting for it to open and realizing they won't open till noon within the 5 mins I was sitting in the car! wow read more

Needs customer service classes! 1st staff mbr I asked a pricing question ignored me and walked away. 2nd one was very sweet and being unsure of the price suggested I speak to the Asst Mgr in ref to possibly combining the two items because they looked like they belonged together. When I approached the Asst Mgr and was trying to explain about being sent to her immediately started talking over me before I could get the question out. She was assuming I had asked about combining the two items when in fact all I wanted was a price on one of the items. She very rudely told me that just because they look like they belong together didn't mean they did. When I walked away and stated how rude she was being all she could say was have a good night. I then put all my things back and departed to never return again. I love shopping at the Goodwill (not for clothing) sometimes priced higher than clearance at Walmart. Furniture is the same way. I have found at this particular store they base alot of there prices off things on Ebay. Now, my favorite store is the one on 1960w and I45. Super great staff and everything is priced accordingly.
