Was cruising around town shopping with my mom and we decided to check this thrift store out. We had just come from Plato's Closet not too far from here and I wish we would've came here first. The selection is wide. They have something for every gender and body type. I wasn't really looking and found an adorable tweed like cardigan I couldn't resist buying. I also scored a nice White House Black Market blouse & Zara shirt. The prices are very fair compared to neighboring places. Although it was busy the cashiers attempted to move people quickly. Absolutely disgusting place! OVERPRICED! stupid lady who works there over charged me, didn't speak and English, was extremely rude and refused to give me my points. Contacted family thrift and no response. Most employees speak ONLY Spanish. They should be able to speak English and Spanish. Again I was overcharged for an item and no one ever contacted me about refunding me my money. Go to a different thrift store if you want to find better items for a good price and nicer employees and just an overall better experience. read more

Rating: 3.5 stars Moderate size and well organized. Was pleasantly surprised to see the clothing organized by color. The store itself is nothing to write home about but you can find a few gems in there if you look hard enough. Other than clothing, there is not much variety in the other items offered. Compared to other thrift stores that I fequent in the DFW area, it was disappointing to see that they do not offer weekday special discounts on the different colored tagged items. I did notice that they have a rewards program for people who sign up and shop there frequently. This, however, is not advantageous for out-of-towners. read more

I just went there to hopefully find something good, I did manage to find a little something but how they tell the price is by looking at the items and literally guessing how much they should make it the whole time. That's is why I don't think anyone should go unless they want to speed a lot cause you can find something for a dollar and in there eyes it's 8 to 12 dollars,this is outrages. read more

Nice, clean and new thrift store which is a welcome addition to Humble and especially this older shopping center. This family thrift is about the same size as others, has a good amount of clothing, housegoods, and brick a brac. I'd have to say the clothing is fairly well stocked since their grand opening was last week of April 2017, but their housewares, brick a brac, and furniture is pretty bare. Almost no furniture in fact. I suspect that will change with time. read more

Customer service is non existent! They saw me looking at stuff where they were working and wouldn't move or acknowledge that I was there. They worked around me as if I wasn't there. Then no one was at the counter upon check out. I stood patiently waiting until I saw a bell. I tapped the bell they ignored it. Then this cashier guy slowly walked up while texting. Doesn't acknowledge me and stayed texting on his phone during the entire check out. Horrible horrible customer service!!!!! No hi, no thank you, no excuse me ma'am. Finally they are open! I wasn't sure if it was going to happen. This is a replica of the family thrift center that I grew up going to. The prices are decent. If you want a comparison then let's compare it to goodwill... first off goodwill is extremely overpriced and they take zero consideration of the brands or shape that the clothes are in. This place makes a price for each item and it's tagged which is so much better than looking at a sign. The clothing selection is huge, color coordinated and grouped by age and gender. I have a slight obsession with prom dresses so I get a bit carried away when I see a good deal, um Houston we have a problem. The formal dress area with prom dresses and cocktail dresses and dresses dresses is massive. I could literally fill my basket with dresses if I had no self control (or more closet space). I don't even wear the dresses but I have three daughters that one day will. Oh and the coat selection is awesome, I came home with five gently used dress coats for less than 60$, that's insane! This is my new favorite resale shop and I will definitely be back. read more

My first time at this store. It has been open for about a month. I was looking for shorts for my daughter who keeps experiencing rapid growth spurts. I was very happy to find this gem. Lots of options and sizes for the whole family. The tops and shoes are not my family's particular taste (which is why I docked 1 star), but the bottoms selection is phenomenal! All color coded and pretty much grouped by size. About 30% of what I came across was new with tags from the original vendor (I'm talking Gap, Justice, Old Navy, Ralph Lauren Polo, etc). They have very nice looking clothes found a lot for the kids. Price's were a bit much. The customer service is horrible. The lady at the counter was very rude and kept giving attitude when asked a question. There was some items I decided not to take and offered to put them back on hangers and on the take back rack and she just got and attitude and yanked them out my hand then started talking in Spanish to another employee. I speak Spanish my self and for her to say well this is how shit Is gonna be all day and it's not even 12 o'clock was very rude. I've been to all of the Family Thrift in Houston and was excited for this one. However, it is much more expensive than the others. $39 for a pair of Nikes or Tory Burch? I can get new Nikes and Tory Burch at Nordstrom rack for similar clearance prices. Glassware that is broken... $6.56... men's shorts that are very worn... $9.59. On and on. Also the dressing rooms are already getting coated with who knows what on the walls (people wiping bodily fluids and make-up. There are better prices at the one off Shepherd, Little York, Willowbrook, but even those stores are on the high side. Ever since "Too Cheap Blondes" started blogging and doing tv segments, Family Thrift has become too big for its britches. I was a first time shopper at this store and when I walked in, I was impressed at the display of clothing, everything looked clean and organized. Halfway through my shopping, there were some announcements-made in Spanish only. No biggie. However, when I went to check out, it was a Monday, senior day and I had my husband (who is a senior) with me so I could get the discount. The lady who was checking me out called another lady over and started talking to her in Spanish about my transaction. I guess she didn't realize I could understand her. She was questioning whether I should get the senior discount (even though my husband was right there - standing next to me) because I didn't have any men's clothes, only women's and children's. The other lady said it was fine and seemed confused why she was asking. I thought it extremely rude that this lady, who clearly speaks good English, would have a conversation in front of me, in Spanish, thinking I couldn't understand her. Moving along to the end of my transaction, she tells me only clothes and shoes get the discount. I had about $30 worth of "accessories" that didn't qualify. They were a bit overpriced anyway, but I thought since I was getting a discount, why not. So I told her I wouldn't be taking those items, paid for my clothes, and left. Had I not spent the better half of my day in the store combing through clothing, I would have told them to cancel the entire transaction. Their prices could be better as well. They're comparable to Goodwill, however, Goodwill's reward program is far better. This thrift store "loyalty rewards" program is terrible. You only get the rewards the NEXT Sunday after you've shopped. So if you shop on Monday, and you get a rewards of 50% off, you only have until the very next Sunday to use it. Otherwise it is gone. Overall, this thrift store is going the way of most thrift stores. Overpriced items on things that were donated. I guess the biggest difference is the staff is rude at this store. When I feel like overpaying, I'll go to Goodwill as the customer service at Goodwill is SO MUCH BETTER. For now though, I'll stick to the smaller local owned places and Salvation Army. I was excited to find this store. There are so many things to see, and they are organized which makes things easier to find. I wish the service was a little better. I patiently waited for a clerk to acknowledge that there were couple of us waiting to purchase. The other lady left and couldn't wait. There were staff there, particularly this young lady but although she saw us, she kept doing whatever she needed to do. I had time to wait so while at the cashier area I happily tapped my fingers to the beat of the music, glancing around the store mentally capturing what my parents would like in there and excited to let them know about this place. Finally, the young lady started walking towards the front. She didn't say anything about me waiting. The first thing she said was that there was no need to tape fingers. I asked her why, and she said it was rude of me to do that. I said that I was tapping to the music and I didn't realize it was rude. She didn't say anything and I calmly asked if there is something wrong. She said she hates it when customers tap their fingers to call attention. I was annoyed at that response but remained calm. I told her that I understand what she meant but recommended that instead of assuming, she could've first of all ask if I'm ready and if maybe the reason for my tapping. This young lady went through my items and asked if that was all I'm getting. Not sure what happened to her that morning but I told her that I had changed my mind about my order and that I Hope you does have a better day. I went to another store after I picked up my parents and shopped with great satisfaction for a much much much better customer service. read more

First and last visit! I went in and picked up a few items while trying on clothes someone picked up some of my Clothes because I could not take all of them in the dressing room with me due to the limit. After trying to find my clothes that were stolen-the workers didn't understand English OMG. I went to the register and the scary chic with the drag makeup was like, "you can put your hangers over there." I was like, "excuse me, I do not follow you this is my first time here." Her response, "so you no see the sign?" The sign was hand written on a orange paper stating to put the hangers on a rack. I laughed and said ok. I took the hangers to the rack smh because her approach to a first time customer was unprofessional. I went back to the register and while she rung up my items I noticed they were not for the same price as what was on the label. I asked for an explanation she stated they had a set price for all clothes. My thoughts highly unlikely. I asked her to disregard the transaction and left out the store due to false advertisement. read more

The store is somewhat put together...clothing on only. But the housewares department is a mess, very small selection and some of the same items that were there the day they opened are still on the shelf...overpricing is a huge problem in housewares. I have found items that were going for more than you could buy them new. The clothing department is neat and organized by color. A small selection of handbags could be culled a bit due to the condition of some...very poor. Checking out is easy and the personnel are very friendly. They could use an express checkout so those buying only one or two items would not have to wait for those that have a basketful of items. If clothing is what you are looking for then this is your place! read more
