Not quite sure it's worth five stars, but the customer service is nice, and I found books right up front at a decent price so I could donate them to a local mental health facility. Big goodwill shopper here. The shelves aren't shop-able. Items are literally thrown on the shelves making it more of a mess than a hunt for treasures. The caliber of goods isn't great. The few items I found , that I considered purchasing were over priced.( a blown glass pitcher with a blown glass pineapple (chipped) $14.99)) and 4 pk if large classroom books for $14.99, vintage plate $7.99) I live in Mesa and $14.99 for these items would be unheard of. I would pass on this location, parking is also terrible and you have to pay during the week. read more

PLEASE fire your manager Roberto! I would never say this and put anyone's career at risk for a trivial interaction but what just happened to me feels unfair and targeted. Leaving the store on 9/24/24 shaking and in tears, he humiliated me in front of other people. He approached me TWICE berating me for the way I was shopping, even though I was doing NOTHING wrong. First for moving through the hangers, even though I was fixing them as I was going along them. Second for just sorting my clothing, and taking them off the hangers. It was ridiculous because I was trying to be helpful when checking out! Being a customer of this company for many years in Arizona and California where I live I've had my run ins but this one with Roberto is single-handedly the WORST and traumatizing pit of my stomach experience EVER. Even reading a recent review has confirmed the negative energy that he brings to the store. NO manager should act like this, I feel like I was policed for no reason. I'm begging goodwill of southern az to PLEASE PLEASE do a review of him. It was obvious he was enjoying his power by continuing to do that to all the homeless people coming in. read more

This is one of the best goodwill stores I have been to. Oh my god its not dark, dirty, or filled with kids running around, or screaming! Its bright, clean, and mostly filled with older people and hipster types. Thats how I like my used and vintage stores. :) I found 2 great items a dress for $10 and a pair of shoes for $5. Sorry they aren't super cheap, but they have a good slection, and are fairly priced for a shop on 4th. I will return, and hopefully find some more great items. I would recomend this place for people who dont want to dig threw dirty or dusty clothes to find one shirt for 25 cents, and for those who are sick of stumbling over kids playing and hiding in racks. read more

On my recent visit to the local goodwill on 4th, I found shoes that I liked for $10, $9.99 to be precise, upon reaching the cashier he informed me it was $29.99 and that the 2 had been scratched out. $30 for used shoes? In all fairness, it was in good condition and a Timberland. So I went home and read the reviews and for the most part, I agree clean, organized and great location......3.49 rounded down to a 3. My concern is where is all the money going? (almost 5 billion annually, let me remind you 1B equals 1,000 million) As I see it the business model is this; donors give free stuff, and feel good for it or maybe claim an inflated tax wright off, the workers in a lot of cases are underprivileged or captive (disabled, paroledetra, probationers, community servicers) work for in some cases for less than minimum wage while the organization maintains 501 c 3 tax-exempt status along with exemption from property taxes all done in the name of job training. What the next cashier or stocker? Maybe it is just me but I have yet to meet a person that said Goodwill changed my life. The smiling g or half-face in the logo maybe an analogy for upper management's compensation. read more

Clean, nice people. Almost totally clothes, very very little of anything else. I'm used to 50% clothes and the rest a mix. There was only one book case in the building. There were some big, old school TVs cheaper than I have ever seen them, one was $10. Granted it was almost as tall as me, and I'm sure it weighed more. Lol If you're down there anyway it's worth a look, but unless you are on the hunt for some cheap outfits, I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Found a couple very cool "vintage" suitcases to give away as gifts. One of them was locked and the staff was incredibly accommodating and reduced the price. I also got some toys for my kitten. Was a fun place to walk around and when I needed help, the staff was cheerful and happy to help. I will be back to shop! read more

Not the best Goodwill I've ever been to in my life. And somewhat disorganized, frankly. I was looking for a jacket or sweater because I misjudged how cold it was going to be over the weekend and under packed. So, untypical of me. The jackets were all lumped together, men's and women's, and the selection is very limited. So, either we missed the good stuff or this item is out of season. Who knows. We're also not used to fellow patrons commenting on items we've selected. A lady pointed out to David he was looking at a woman's jacket because of the fur trim. Doin' The Snoopy dance & elephant walk like an Egyptian. I love the deals at thrift stores, but I do not like the smell they sometimes have. Add to the smell the messiness and I'm outta there. If I wanted to look through piles of clothes and junk accompanied by an unidentifiable smell, I'd have stayed at home. This location has always been a gem on the pinkie finger of 4th Ave. You're strolling along heading south you can see the underpass coming up there's a few bars then you're in downtown. But, wait there's an unassuming door at this building that looks like a Goodwill storage facility. It's not a storage facility it's a very nice store with clean affordable clothes, jewelry, books, furniture & more. This Shopanista's nirvana was reached when she noticed 2 each, men's & women's restrooms also clean and tidy! Well, the one woman's I went to was. I would have been doing the Snoopy dance even if there wasn't a guy right outside playing The Linus & Lucy song followed by The Elephant Walk. I love both of those songs so I was walking like an Egyptian when I strolled out of there with my new Shel Silverstein book, Falling Up for $7.99. read more

Place is really unappreciative of donations. I got to the donation center at 4:53 and I didn't know they closed at 5. I wanted to donate an end table, 4 floating shelves, a nightstand, and a small toy shelf. The associate said "I'm going to have to turn you away, but you can drive 15 minutes to the other location." I had to convince him to take my stuff and they were really nice items. I was out of the parking lot at 4:56. I have been there several times where they acted like my donations were an inconvenience. I'll be donating elsewhere in the future. read more

Goodwill on 4th ave is one of the best thrifting spots in town. Agreeably the sprinkling of cute little stores on 4th stand their own with a selection of costumes and novelties - but Goodwill is where its at! Every time I go in there its clean, well organized, stocked with cool stuff (housewares is my fav section) and the staff is ALWAY friendly. Extra points for supporting folks with extra needs as a major part of their staffing. A tip for street fair - Goodwill lets you use their bathroom!....and its always clean :) read more

This place is super organized and you can get in n out. One thing about thrift stores is the search for the gem of the store but with Goodwill you can go in and find what your looking for and get out. Its a quick process which is good when your trying to find something you need quick. Their prices are very reasonable for a profitable thrift chain as well. If I need to find something whacky for any occasion this is the first place I go. It's one of the cleaner goodwills I've been to which is nice. I've bought a couple crazy clothes items from here but never anything from the furniture or electronic "departments" haha. I want to get some of the crazy art they have to decorate my place by my roommates aren't having it! Love this store for the community unity vibe that the staff puts out. Always good deals on print t-shirts. Other steals have included a brand new Lucky cotton jersey tunic top, an 80's roll neck winter sweater, and Vera Wang leggings. The store is never pretentious and you can branch out from your basic wardrobe comfortably. read more

This location has good deals...I have found choice purses, art, linens, housewares, interesting props, and at times really choice clothing options...it can be hit or miss, there are times I feel like the selection is so good you can pair outfits, and at times it's a select item you find. Usually, going into a Goodwill makes me feel disgusting. The shops tend to be crowded, dirty, and unorganized. For some strange reason, this Goodwill defies all of my previous stereotypes. The staff has always been really friendly (and when I went in before Halloween, they were all dressed up and gave me some costume advice -- loved it!), and I never leave empty-handed. I think it benefits from being on 4th Ave; it's the only explanation I can find for them having better loot than every other Goodwill I've visited. read more

The front of the store was clean and the book section was organized. Walking past this area though, things just looked old and cramped (they split the thrift store on 4th Avenue in half and one half is Goodwill, the other some boutique). The back of the store was a disaster and almost everything back there was just junk. I get it, depending on the area of town donations are coming in will reflect what they have to sell. There were a couple of college aged kids in here (okay, myself and my boyfriend included, but at least we were behaved!) acting like ridiculous. After less than five minutes we left. read more

I went to the Goodwill store on 4th Ave yesterday, and I was very impressed! The store is bright, clean, well organized, and the employees are very friendly and helpful. I have been to different "thrift shops" in different parts of the country, and I have to say the selection here was superior. I like brands like The Limited, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Banana Republic... but there is no way I can afford to purchase their clothing new with a teacher's salary, so I get my clothing gently used. This store had a lot of the brands I like and smaller sizes too! I did not pay more that $7 for anything and I walked out with 3 bags of clothes! read more

Restrooms are filthy here. No toilet paper, no toilet seat covers, no soap, hand drier out of order, food wrappers and to go drinks on the sink. I told an employee that the bathroom needed attention and her exact words were" It's that way all the time ma'am ". There is a sign on the door reminding people to wash their hands, but that's impossible to do. Won't be going back there anytime soon. read more
