This used to be our favorite Goodwill. In fact, my daughter and I would drive from Washington state to tillamook, Oregon on a road trip just to visit this Goodwill. The people were always friendly, the store was always clean, but the prices were amazing. The manager that ran this Goodwill, did so in such a way that truly supported the community by offering prices that moved the merchandise continually. For many years, resellers in this community have counted on the prices at this Goodwill to help them to live here. I'm not a reseller. I'm a disabled veteran and I travel, looking for Items for my disabled veteran friends who are less mobile. I don't have much money, but by visiting this Goodwill, I have been able to find items I could afford to gift; games, art supplies, clothing, and other things that lift the spirits of my disabled veteran friends. We could visit this Store in the morning and then again in the evening and there would be entirely new product on the shelves. We visited Tillamook and patronized many of the other businesses and hotels here just because of the way the manager was running this Goodwill. During our most recent trip, my daughter and I walked through the entire store and discovered the prices were even much higher than the other Goodwill stores that we have visited in the past. The people were still friendly, but it was clear that they were not happy. I spoke privately, with one of the employees and ask if the manager had changed. The employee expressed that the old manager, who went by the name of "Roger", was no longer working at that location , and that since he left corporate installed another manager who was pushing the corporate agenda to make as much money off of each item as possible and with those methods, not truly supporting the people in the community, who are clearly struggling to get by. The employee also mentioned that the previous manager, "Roger" was the best manager they ever had. The employees were so much happier, everything worked much better, and that it was a healthier work environment because of him. Goodwill industries is a lie used to PROFIT by selling items they get for FREE at an extremely high price. They offer the same job training that is also provided by each state...so, they are taking advantage of the "non-profit" tax designation in order to profit. The Tillamook location was the last good face of Goodwill and now it is gone. There are still good people in Tillamook, but the ones working at the Goodwill are no longer happy. We will continue to pass through the community, but not as often and we will no longer visit this store. Shame on Goodwill. SHAME. Do NOT donate to Goodwill. read more

Fairly typical Goodwill, though we've been coming here on an annual basis and feel that their inventory of high quality items is lacking and the prices are quite steep for used things. I'm sure we'll be back, but my expectations will be lower for this particular store. read more

I personally don't know why this GoodWill has such low reviews. Out of the many thrift stores I've been to, this one was up their in my list. Nicely color coordinated. Super well kept. There weren't tons of clothes on the floor and off of hangers. Their dressing rooms weren't disgusting. And I found some great finds. Definitely worth coming out here ! read more

I have been shopping at Goodwills in a variety of locations for years. We have all noticed the ridiculous pricing that is taking place right now across the board by this company. Tillamook is by far the most out of whack, in my opinion. Used sweatshirts for $19.99. Old used coffee mugs are now $3.99 or $4.99. Dishware in poor shape for $24.99. I want to love Goodwill but I truly do not understand their pricing strategy. Way too high on just about everything! It didn't used to be that way. Also, I would think in a more rural county of Oregon the prices would be more reasonable. I will not be going back nor donating. I would love to hear from their management why they are pricing donated items so high. Is it the "ebay effect" (they just look at ebay and assume that's the going rate?). I wish they would reconsider and make prices more appropriate for USED ITEMS at a THRIFT STORE. read more

I'm a Goodwill fan and I've been shopping at the stores in my area for many years. I routinely visit the Goodwill stores in my area where there are three nice stores for me to shop. I still use my antique Goodwill card that I just found out was discontinued 28 years ago. When I'm in a different city, I always drop by the Goodwill stores in the area looking for treasures. I also buy larger-ticket stuff at goodwill.com, where I have spent thousands of dollars, mostly on musical instruments that I repair and sell or give to needy band students. I like being greeted as I walk into the stores in my area. That didn't happen today when I visited your store in Tillamook. I was greatly disappointed. I parked in the parking lot. When I walked in the front door, the first door automatically opened and I walked through it. An older man, with gray hair was right at the door, who I assume to be the manager due to his age and attitude. Now I realize that it was an automatic door that had opened because his position triggered the door to open. This man rudely confronted me, since I had apparently walk through the exit door rather than the entry door and he wanted me to walk out of the exit door and around to the entrance door and physically blocked my way. There was no greeting, just an angry order to enter the store through the correct door. I ignored his order, walked around him and proceeded to look around. I wasn't there a minute when I decided to leave, since I felt unwelcome. As I walked by him and out the correct exit door, he confronted me again, as if he had some say over where I choose to be. As I left, I gave him an appropriate FU. His response was to follow me into the foyer. I turned as he squared his body up to me as if he was going to physically attack. I turned around since I felt I would need to defend myself. Now, I am 70 years old, disabled and had open heart surgery a little more than a year ago, but I absolutely despise bullies. This man appeared to me to be the manager of your store or at least one of the managers and this is the way he greeted me as I walked in and out your store. As I left, he proclaimed, "This is MY store!" I replied that the store actually belonged to the Goodwill corporation and he just was a rude employee. He ordered me out of his store and to never come back, a mute point because I was heading out the door anyway with just that intention. You should look into this and offer this jerk an opportunity to find other employment. I give only one star, since that is the minimum. I should probably sue your store for the assault! read more

This store must be the worst Goodwill I have ever been in. On this past Monday I was trying on something in a dressing room and I heard something behind me. There was a young woman on her back scooting in my dressing room. I was so surprised that I shrieked to the top of my lungs. She apologized and said that she hadn't seen my shoes under the door. There is only one reason that she was doing this as she was going to put on the Goodwill clothes under hers. Then she could walk out without paying for them. I have been to about five other Goodwill stores and have never had anything like this happen to me there, or anywhere else for that matter. I have no desire to return there as I have a hunch that this wasn't her first time to do this. Really? If you ring the bell, an associate will let you into a room. And steal from a store that helps people? How low can you get? I am sure that Goodwill doesn't have a budget for security. Just an all around distasteful situation. I have found a few items here, but not many for the times that I have visited the store. Most of the time I walk out empty handed. When I shared this incident with the manager later(as the employees hadn't even though I told two), he asked to let them know if I see her again. I don't care for a repeat performance and it's not worth my while to go there again. read more

I'm a self professed thrift store junkie! I used to not just shop at Goodwill but donated to them almost exclusively because our their reputation for providing jobs, job training, etc for folks. BUT... Prices there are outrageous! Many are more than their original, new, price! IMO, no item of clothing should be over $3 or $4 at a thrift store! Here at the Tillamook Goodwill, it's not unusual to see a "faded glory" (Wal-Mart brand) obviously used, tank top for $8-9!!! Lots of items i recognize from a Dollar Shop marked $5 or higher!!! I still go there, but rarely buy anything that isn't on the 50% sale (color tag of the week) I no longer donate items to Goodwill, as I'd rather not see them priced over what I've paid for them!! Whatever happened to realizing that donations are often garage sale leftovers and priced accordingly??!!?? Staff is generally friendly, but many many items are not where they "belong" on shelves or racks. read more

It is rather ironic to me that they are making these charity shops so palatial and nicely designed only to fill them with second (sometimes third and fourth) hand wares. I suppose the job placement aspect of them is the draw, but folks, who do you think is paying for these new and expensive centres? If you look carefully at the prices for this "thrift shop", you will soon learn the secret of the revenue. It's YOU!!! Many of the "newer" Goodwill Stores have been known to be highly priced, but this location really stands out. Their book prices were borderline outrageous. Instead of individually pricing all of the books, try a flat pricing scheme like other Goodwill Stores do. I would dare say it makes it much easier and will sell more books in the final analysis. Many of the titles can be found much cheaper elsewhere. Granted, a few deals are to be found around the store, but the overall pricing structure for this location was noticeably high. I love to support good charities, but I also don't want to be pillaged. Common practice proves that people will spend more when the prices are lower and will return for more. For us, this location was a one trick pony. Lots of collectables and high ticket items abound. I guess they figure the locals don't know any better when it comes to fair prices for thrift items. Warrenton is priced noticeably lower. Maybe after the newness wears off, they will adjust their pricing, but that is their call. My lovely lass actually got better deals across the way at Fred Meyer on a few outfits and that is a sad commentary on Goodwill. Great location, in a geographical area that can benefit from their services, nice layout, well lit, and as organized as can be with the demographic that tends to shop there and trash places. On that note, it appears that free, unsupervised daycare is offered to the Spanish speaking community, as evidenced by the three separate families that came in at different times allowing their children to race around the store scooting toy trucks around and crashing into people. For the little "nino" that knocked the elderly lady with the cane off balance...all I can say is I really didn't see you....you shouldn't run in a store, you will heal, and Karma can be a bitch. This is the most organized Goodwill I've ever seen. All clothes are set out by size and color. I found a few awesome treasures! Clothes are primarily 'trendy' - Nordstrom, H&M, Gap - and prices are reasonable. Certain tag colors are 50% off depending on the day of the week. One of the better Goodwill stores on the coast but super hit and miss. The bathroom is usually really clean. Takes a long time to get a dressing room. They do have outlets to test electronics. CDs are in a difficult area so very hard to browse and pull out (I have an old car). This Goodwill usually doesn't have records. A lot of fun if people control their children and just act human. Getting to check out is a maze. Don't forget to bring bags because they have to charge 5 cents for each one also. read more

Tillamook goodwill is so over priced went in looking for a baby gate found one for 24.99 same price brand new on target website. Founder a four pack of flame less tea lights for 2.99 peeled the sticker off to find a clearance price of .99cents, clearly the over pricing things. read more

We just moved to the area and were delighted to have a Goodwill here to purchase a few things we needed for our house. We were also noticing that this Goodwill is very proud of their merchandise because if it's not half price, it's expensive. We did find a couple of bar stools that were really nice and were able to get a bit of a discount on them. They wouldn't give us half off on them even though they were the color sticker for that week. Not sure why? Like Salvation Army in Portland who has a half off sale once a week, they have to raise their prices so they make some money on that half off stuff. I will continue to look around at this Goodwill because for me it's the thrill of the hunt. Hopefully it's the right color for a half price discount. read more

Thought I would find some Oregon t shirts here, and "yep" I surely did...9 shirts (some with tags still on), but it took some doin..I looked at every t-shirt in the store. Found a pair of brand new Kenneth Cole oxfords for a whopping $12.00; shoes that new would be over $200. and they were brand spankin new. Add more stuff and then I had to pack all my purchases in a trash bag and strap it with tape for my plane ride back to home, but it was worth it. This store is clean, well organized, the crew is friendly and there are boatloads of wares especially high end cold weather gear. Wonderful feather duvets in both stores but I could not manage to take them back to L.A.(sigh) Next time I will bring an empty pack to fill (or buy one there) . I had to scrutinize every purchase so that I could manage transport of them. That's because I had already visited a previous Goodwill in Potand. Don't miss them (Goodwills) on your trip to Oregon. This Goodwill prices items higher than Warrenton or LIncoln City. A zip up blouse was priced at $12.99 when a name brand pant suit was the same price. Their pricing structure makes no sense. I noticed a rolled up used rug that was $100 and I just had to laugh! Downtown Tillamook at Halls you can get a new one that is even bigger for only $59.99. I have visited a total of 4 times and each time I walk away empty handed shaking my head. The owner of Goodwill makes a 2 million profit every year and the CEO makes over $500,000 yearly. Considering that both the Goodwill at LIncoln City and Tillamook refuse to hire people with disabilities I believe they are all about GREED! read more
