Staying in Pacific City and we went to get breakfast at Grateful Bread and saw this little store. Just did a little pop in and very quickly found some beautiful treasures, great books, pet toys and some dishes. I'm all for supporting a local library system. The store is small but very well stocked. The majority of the prices are reasonable, product is in good condition and fun to dig around. The store fully supports the library and uses 100% volunteers for their employees. Their hours are limited so make sure you call or check to see if they're open. I found the lady working to be pleasant and hospitable. We had lots of conversation and there were lots of people in and out. I didn't see anyone who didn't buy anything. It's a great place to pick up a beach read or silverware if you forget yours. read more

It was a cold and rainy day and I was on a bike-- The people working in this thrift store are all very funny and super nice!! It started to pour and they wouldn't let me leave until it was safe to go. The items are all very inexpensive compared to any of the larger city thrift stores -- $3 and four for nice blouses-- $20 for a real suede jacket -- and I got a brand new duffle bag/backpack for $5!!! Looking for a rain jacket and the guy running the place started looking everywhere to help me -- he went to the back room and came back with a gorgeous raspberry rain coat-- the lady behind the counter said "that's my jacket" -- so I said I'll take it for sure now hahaha!! This store really does go above and beyond any store I've been in. LOVE IT. read more

I started thinking about what I wanted to say... and literally the review from F C is almost the same experience we had. Kind of funny, actually. From walking in the door, neither woman acknowledged we were potentially going to give them business, but just watched every move we made... which was challenging consider the aisles are tight and every shelf is packed with... well nothing really that good of quality. Clothes, shoes, and accessories seem old (yes, I know it's a thrift-shop). Not just old, but like worn out, bad quality, not worth the price, etc. We had something for $4 and some change, not exactly sure how much... "$5 minimum for card," she said rudely. We asked if she could just charge us $5 then. "No." No thanks! We won't return. Most places will add a fee, or something! But to straight up refuse our business, and offering her more money? Super crowed filled with over priced items. Ladies in charge make you feel very uncomfortable, watching my family as if we were going to shoplift..... very bad energy , they could work on clearing space by pricing items better ! I've never been so disappointed with any place of business in my entire life. She has "items" in display that you can't actually buy. I was hoping to buy a display wig and the women that owns this place said "she has the right to display items". It was my birthday and I never thought I would be disrespected like that. I hope she finds what she's looking for in her sad pathetic life and stupid business model. This place sucks, don't support her. I gave one star because I had too. Unbelievable discovery, great gems inside from beautiful artisan pottery to plateware, art (some quite good), decor (vintage and otherwise, very edited and charming!) I got a beautiful cast iron swordfish bottle opener - tres cool - and some beautiful house decor items that oozed taste and quality - very inexpensive. read more

I have grown up in Pacific City most weekends of my life and come to this store ever since it opened. In the past, it has been a fun little store with surprise treasures to take home, but over the past couple of years they have become overly greedy and ridiculously priced. Rumor has it the lady that runs it keeps receiving donations from people's storage units... which she then thinks said stuff is worth way more than it is. She then goes and "prices according to eBay" on specialty items but picks what that said item last sold at it's very highest price... not the median and thinks that is what she will get in a small town thrift store on donated items. One of these said items I have watched sitting on the shelf for almost 2 years. It is still there as of last weekend. I would have bought it at a fair price two years ago but she won't budge. Over the weekend there were a few things I would have purchased at a reasonable price compared to goodwill.. but those items too were priced only a dollar or two less than they cost new on amazon. Ridiculous. This is a thrift store to benefit a library... not eBay... and greed doesn't get you anywhere. If they ever hope to clear out there overcrowded thrift store and sell anything maybe they should rethink their pricing. Until then we are done and won't return. read more
