BAM! Hire these guys and you won't regret it. If you are a Raytheon PM or Engineer, hire these guys since you'll love them -- high quality work. If I still worked at Raytheon, I'd be telling all my coworkers. You can probably find people for less money but you'll pay more in the long run for the substandard job. Often times by paying less, you pay more (in the long run). So cheap people, like me, always go for quality that looks awesome and lasts a long time -- often paying a little bit more upfront. Case-in-point. When we had our addition built in 2014, the contractor's painter Jose (does not work for Goodwin & Sons) extensively watered down the paint and took every shortcut known to man. When I questioned if he was doing two coats, he said yes, then proceeded to just spray the same area twice. OMG! Well that paint job indeed "colored" the stucco, but we needed to repaint in four years but probably should have done it sooner. So this is what inexpensive painters do and how you may pay more in the long run. I mention one of my prior experiences since Goodwin & Sons was different. It was obvious right from the start. I hired them for my parent's house to repair the parapets and for exterior painting. Ernesto was the lead for our job and Justin (the owner) helped on the second day. Work completed March 5, 2026. 1. Detailed Bid: Everything was itemized and made sense. The price was reasonable. 2. Warranty: Ours was five years, but maybe this period was due to the high-end paint we selected? 3. THICK Paint Coating: Justin said he used 60 gallons of paint on my parent's 1,800 ft2 house. I believe him since they sprayed, sprayed, and sprayed the same spot. They immediately used a roller thereafter to ensure a smooth look. I even questioned Justin if he watered down the paint because of how much paint was being applied -- the answer was of course no they never water down the paint. For reference, I'm pretty sure Jose (does not work for Goodwin & Sons) from our 2014 addition used about 30 gallons on my 3,500 ft2 home. 4. Detail Work: Everything was masked. Windows/doors were caulked. Lines were clean. Not a speck of paint where it wasn't supposed to be. 5. Thorough clean up: Self-explanatory. They even picked up some concrete and stucco from when the house was built. So the place was cleaner than when they started! 6. Easygoing and Very Respectful: It was soooo refreshing to like the owners and workers. Everyone was so nice and easygoing. I felt so bad asking Ernesto to fix something he missed and he was actually consoling me, saying it was totally fine, and he appreciated me pointing it out. Wow, how many times does that happen with a home contractor? First time for me! 7. Follow Up: Justin and Ernesto said that if there is anything I find later, they will be happy to fix it...I believe them. And I do not think I'll find anything wrong. 8. Painting Wood: They filled and painted the wood. Their process is great with great results. The wood columns had some good cracks since the prior owners did not maintain them for about 8 years, but they all look awesome now. The results were spectacular and I cannot be more happy. The pictures speak for themselves. I did not pick angles to make things look good...everything was just good. My house is next and Goodwin & Sons will be the ones doing it. read more

We highly recommend Goodwin & Sons Painting! Justin Goodwin responded right away when I first reached out, came to our property and walked through all options and recommendations with me. I had originally called to ask about possible removal or replacement of old vigas I thought were beyond repair & some stucco patching that needed done. Justin assured me the vigas were totally salvageable. He recommended a total repair and seal and full paint on the house - including the overhangs, trim, and back porch - all at a price so reasonable I was admittedly skeptical. We received a full & complete estimate within the day. All we discussed was outlined in the estimate. My husband & I decided to give it a shot, see if Justin was a man of his word as it seemed too fair an estimate considering how much just viga work can be! We scheduled for about a month out. (When they had a last minute opening they offered to do the work early for us, which was awesome to have that option!) Goodwin & Sons uses high quality paint; I was able to go to the local paint store and pick out several different color combinations to try. The folks at the store were helpful in walking me through possible coordinates. I went home with the samples (at no cost to us) so I was able to test the colors before making the very intimidating (yet exciting!) decision of changing our home's color scheme! On the day work was to begin, Juan showed up exactly on time and was absolutely wonderful to work with! I've never worked with a more dedicated, hard working, detail oriented, and respectful person! He worked his tail off! Juan spent 2 full days (in 107 heat) without stopping! Work included power washing, repairing & painting our entire house - including power washing & moving the dirt/rock back from the walls to get the paint all the way down & then putting it all back. All worn wood was repaired & all stucco cracks fixed! Juan was also great with our dogs - which is awesome when you have someone working in your dog yard for 2 days straight! He cleaned up after himself and was grateful for water given - but never asked - even though I told him repeatedly to just knock if he wanted more...he didn't want to disturb us. Incredible! ALL work discussed, and more, was completed in just 2 days! And Juan was solo! (I teased Juan, "Juan is THE one! "Haha!) Justin, I can't say enough - great job employing upstanding people & running an honest, fair business! Note: My husband works a ton to provide a beautiful life for us! That leaves me managing a lot of these projects and I cannot express the appreciation in working with honest contractors that don't attempt to take advantage of working with a female - seemingly on her own. NIGHTMARE! Dealing with this company was the worst and most expensive experience I have had when hiring someone to do work on my home. I am a retired teacher, trying to make improvements on my house, so I asked Justin to remove the popcorn ceilings and paint 2 rooms. I was stunned by the price quote of $2800 and assumed that meant I would be getting a very high quality and professional job. Nothing could have been further from the reality of what happened. I saw him briefly on the 2nd day. His guys were hard workers and polite, but careless and sloppy, and did a terrible job texturing the ceiling. All the plastic covering my new furniture while working on the ceiling, was ripped, so there was mud over everything. I told him I was dissatisfied with the results, and instead of coming over, he sent another worker to make repairs. When the worker informed him of the multitude of areas that needed repair, Justin opted to call me (again, choosing not to come over himself). Immediately he took a hostile tone, and claimed it was my fault because I didn't say anything before they painted the ceiling. He was verbally abusive and extremely rude. He didn't attempt to do the right thing until I threatened to file a complaint. He redid the entire thing, putting my life on hold for another 3 days (which I'll never get back). He ignored my request to stop calling me, which resulted in so much stress, that I became sick. There is damage to my brand new furniture and electronics, as well as my front door. There are visible cracks in the ceiling, and paint splattered on the ceiling fan, walls, and furnishings, that I am left to clean up myself. I was told by his wife that they would refund me $300 but I have yet to see any of it. Buyer beware! Oh, and in case you were thinking that this is a family business, as I did, it isn't! The "Sons" in the company name refers to 2 young children. Just one of many indications that this is a business with no integrity. read more

So I give them a "C" (three stars). Not the worst but certainly not the best. One issue was the office people not knowing what the field manager said and vice versa. I got a quote from Denise that included the ceilings and yet, somehow, Justin, the field manager, hadn't included them. There was a conversation - initiated by Justin - about it in the middle of painting. And he denied we talked about it. I was not trying to get something for free and I certainly didn't raise my voice. But he made it sound that way. I did tell him that it is important to write things down so there is no confusion. The two painters were fine. My one beef is that they do NOT cover the entire floor so, sure enough, dots of paint everywhere that I had to clean up (Justin assured me this was easy but he wasn't the one cleaning). If you hire them, demand they cover all the floor area. Also, they did leave some dings where their ladder must have bumped the wall as they were clearing out. What was really weird is that I never got a bill despite the issues in what was covered in the estimate. So I sat down, looked at the estimate and did the best I could. I guess it was okay because they cashed the check. Ask for everything in a written form. I received no thank you for my business. The lead painter let me know that Justin had suffered a personal loss during this time and I texted him my sympathies. But I don't think the issues I had were about his personal issue; I think they don't do business in an orderly manner. read more

Beware! I hired Justin to do some sheetrock patching. The day he came to the job he brought no material and didn't even have a sheetrock trowel so he just took it upon himself to use my trowel and my sheetrock and my sheetrock mud without even asking me - about $80 dollars in material. They worked at my house for a total of 28 hours and charged me $1,500. He also took my brand new $50 dollar 5 gallon propane tank. Justin didn't do one thing he said he would do and I wish I never hired him. All he cares about is himself and make as much money he can rip you off for. If he told me he would work for 28 hours of work I would of never hired him. All the work he did all had to be redone and he left such a mess sanding the sheetrock it took 48 hours to clean the entire house, twice as long as it took to screw up everything he touched, he told me he had a sanding pole that hooked up to a vacuum unfortunately for me that wasn't the case at all. He had one of his guys sanding the house and when I came in the house there was so much sheetrock dust in the air you could barely even see the guy and he wasn't even wearing a dust mask because Justin didn't even have any so I let him use my mask. I hired Justin because the original sheetrocker couldn't make it to the job on time and I had the painter scheduled so I hired Justin to try and stay on schedule. After fixing Justin's mess I had to reschedule the painter twice and I could of done everything myself quicker and save $1,500 and not having to deal with such a negative experience. I would be shocked if he survives in business. After reading positive things about Justin and my experience makes me wonder if one can really believe any of that or is it just fake news. read more

I hired Accent Paint Co. to paint the outside of my house. I am very pleased with the work which was done on my 2000 sq. ft house. Day one, the guys scraped, caulked, and prepped the windows and doors. Day two the house was painted. The guys were very efficient and professional and Justin even took care a problem in one of the bathrooms to correct a problem that occurred when a walk-in tub was installed. My neighbor even came over to talk to Justin about painting his home! I cannot say enough good things about this experience! read more
