What a great place for breakfast and lunch! Hugh's been doing this a long time and he knows how to fix my bacon and egg sandwich.

Food is terrific. Service is on a first name basis. It's 'old school' lunch counter. Chicken salad club on wheat - yum.

This is my kind of place! If I lived around Albemarle, this would be a frequent stop for me! Quaint, friendly, and food cooked just right!

I was so intrigued I looked up the history of the building, and the automotive companies that inhabited the building before the restaurant. Were you around when the Pontiac show room always had a white Christanas tree in the main window for Christmas? The food was upscale pub food. The Onion rings were delicious. The Sloppy Joes were memerable and I loved my chicken salad. Most importantly, the drinks were great. I would love to stop by again.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.

But you will be rewarded with a great meal and if you're lucky, a slice of pie too. Patience starts in the parking lot. Their lot is small, and the surrounding businesses have towing signs, so you might have to wait on a spot to open up. Luckily, we just had to circle the block once, and were graciously rewarded with a parking spot. You go inside and see yourself, even if the table hasn't been cleared yet of items from the previous patrons. It's a mix of booths and tables with chairs. We were promptly greeted by a waitress, and she cleaned the tables and took our drink orders. My table got a Charley burger (which just means the patty is larger than the regular ones), two hot dogs, and chicken tenders. The Charley burger was great. I didn't sample the hotdog, but I heard no complaints. That chicken tenders were cooked through, and deliciously crisp. After I finished my whole meal, I thought they had sweet potato pie on the menu, but unfortunately, I did not have room. When we went up to pay, I could see the pie sitting behind the checkout counter, and knew that I should have saved room. If you're down to try a classic local establishment, then Charley's is for you. It's definitely for me and my family.
