But we all have *those* days, don't we (and they're usually Thursdays). The type of day where you fall out of bed late, there's nothing in, and you dash out of the door unfed and unprepared. Not only do I pass it on my way to work - so no further delays - but I can also get a breakfast butty, a filled roll for my lunch, a sweet treat (for the extra Thursday-ish Thursdays) and still have change from a fiver! My personal favourite is the chicken mayo salad roll - filled to the brim, there's greenery in there so it's obviously healthy, freshly made and only £1.40. I'm not really a fan of the design of the place. It is high-ceilinged, wooden-floored and is very popular with parents, who bring their little toddlers in here to scream and play. There is even a designated kids corner which is a bit of a nuisance when toddlers are banging Lego bricks against the hard wooden floor and you are trying to enjoy your drink. The two waitresses were attentive and friendly but they were very young and seemed a bit inexperienced. With the huge queue that was forming, this was not ideal. The toilets needed a bit of attention as the paper towel bin was overflowing, leaving some spilling out onto the floor. I think I will stick to Steampunk in the future. I can rely on it's homemade lemonade, carrot cake and clean toilets.

Sausage Roll: A very meaty sausage roll. Like it's mostly sausage, with a bit of dough around it. The sausage itself had veggies and herbs in the mix. Perfect if you want a big meal for breakfast. Cheese Scone: Subtle and mild cheesy. I didn't have any butter on hand, but imagine that would make this even better. Twice Baked Blackcurrant & Pistachio Croissant: Loved that there was a nice jam spread in the middle of the croissant. The twice-baking meant it wasn't as airy/flaky as once-baked croissant, but that is easily overlooked since the blackcurrant makes up for it. Frangipane Bar: A really great take on a dessert bar. Perfect if you love marzipan, but don't want to eat one of those weird brightly shaped candies. I liked this so much, I'm gonna look up how to make this at home.
