While looking around for a quick breakfast, we found this place. There wasn't many places opened early morning so was very happy to see an option. Despite the fact it was very small place (not many seats) all the people there were very welcoming. They met us quickly and answered our questions very nicely. The people had good energy and definitely comfortable talking to all the people even new folks in town. They had many goods on display that looked really good so was very excited. I ordered a Hayley with was sausage, egg and had this chilly jam. I was pretty good and liked how they wrapped it for me (it did get messy easy). My friend ordered a scone with jelly in it that she really liked. Another had a toasty that looked really nice too. I also got this mint dessert too which I really loved. I would definitely recommend the place if you looking for quick bite and breakfast early morning.

A tiny spot run by a lovely couple making fabulous Scottish breakfast / lunch pastries. Everything is quite well priced making Preacher's a true gem. Take note if you wish to sit get there as early as possibly as there are just two tables and limited standing.

I still dream of the haggis roll and fruit scones we enjoyed at Preachers! Do not overlook this small bakery, it is so delicious.

    The Taylor morning bun

If I ever make it to Edinburgh again this will be my first stop. We had The Taylor, The MacGriddle, Earl Grey and Honey bread/cake, Buffalo chicken wrap, and hot chocolate. I'd love to go back and try some of the traditional Scottish puddings. The staff were amazing, very friendly.

Best breakfast I've had so far in the UK. Came from America for a UK holiday and was just about to give up on the food until I stumbled upon Preacher's. This small, quaint, and inviting cafe/bakery was just what I needed. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. I got one hot egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with a Nutella donut, and I had to ask for another sandwich because it was so good. Highly recommend for a quick and appetizing meal.

I adored the lime, poppyseed, and blueberry roulade! It was gone before the soup and toastie sandwich arrived. Crispy on the outside and so very soft and tasty on the inside. The cookie pie was impressive, but I honestly liked the roulade so much better. The soup today was broccoli and it was delicious! I had a ham and cheese sandwich lightly grilled in a panini press. Mom had a chorizo sandwich. The ladies at the bakery were lovely! Friendly happy folk always make food taste better! The bakery was quiet and not busy at 12:30 pm. It wasn't empty, just not busy. We got a table for 3! It was funny (and also a sad commentary on humans) that the still water available said "Please turn the tap off." Silly people. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch! Mom said very good! Very different!

My very first time I came I tried a vegan cinnamon bun. It was warm, soft, and had that sweet caramelization from the sugar on the bun. It was soooo good. After that, I kept coming back about once a week to grab a treat and sometimes a drink. Everything I've tried has been so delicious and the staff is always very kind. If you follow them on Instagram they even sometimes release what goods are in the shop since they switch it up! Tasty Buns definitely became a go to of mine and I think there is truly something for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Sausage Roll: A very meaty sausage roll. Like it's mostly sausage, with a bit of dough around it. The sausage itself had veggies and herbs in the mix. Perfect if you want a big meal for breakfast. Cheese Scone: Subtle and mild cheesy. I didn't have any butter on hand, but imagine that would make this even better. Twice Baked Blackcurrant & Pistachio Croissant: Loved that there was a nice jam spread in the middle of the croissant. The twice-baking meant it wasn't as airy/flaky as once-baked croissant, but that is easily overlooked since the blackcurrant makes up for it. Frangipane Bar: A really great take on a dessert bar. Perfect if you love marzipan, but don't want to eat one of those weird brightly shaped candies. I liked this so much, I'm gonna look up how to make this at home.

I sat at a little table next to the window and was brought my order. The cinnamon bun was really soft and had a lovely flavor. The chai was sweet and didn't have too much spice but I enjoyed it! Overall the vibe of the cafe itself is really cute and they have plenty of baked goods, hot and cold beverages, and savory options to appeal to a reasonable palate. As long as you don't stay overstay your welcome, that is. ;) The OAT MILK CAPPUCCINO was frothy and creamy, but overall it was just okay. Not the best, not the worst, right in the middle. I loved the icing on the VEGAN CARROT CAKE. It was smooth and sweet, but not too sweet. It also had a pop of citrus. As for the cake, I was underwhelmed. It was lacking in carrot flavor and was denser than I'd prefer. However, I did enjoy the big chunks of nuts and raisins. EXTRA: Super cute decor They have a retail section in the front that sells coffee, jewelry, mugs, pens, vitamins, etc. Friendly service Decent size space and amount of tables The bathroom is downstairs "Weekends are lap top free" that's what the sign says, at least Not sure how I feel about this sign: "If busy, please limit your stay to an hour.. thanks for being cool." At least they're honest, I suppose, but still...
