Great experience. I have never smashed my screen before (protector or original screen). I had a glass protector (not from gopher) on and I still smashed my original screen. 45 min later with gopher, I had a new iPhone screen. Granted not original, I pulled it up to an original screen and couldn't tell the difference. Excellent service with a warranty. Note - if you are not from the area... there are plenty of shops and eateries to go to while you wait for the replacement. Much cheaper than buying a new phone - less than $150 for the best screen (including tax) for the better screen/glass to the iPhone (2% difference). read more

Now, no one really wants to pay to have their phone fixed right, but when you are clumsy like me, sometimes it happens. And sometimes it happens more than once. I had my phone fixed here earlier in the year. It was ready for just $99 and within an hour. I didn't even know places like this existed. I just thought I'd need to replace the phone even though it worked fine Then, I dropped it again. Grr! I had my husband take it to another place closer to home I keep hearing about. Well, they wanted 1.5 times as much to fix it. It's not even worth that much, I bet. In fact the other place charges extra for a screen protector and they said it would take 5 (!!) hours. When I heard that I called and told them not to touch it and I'd be in shortly to pick it up. Anywhooo, I took it to Gophermods AGAIN on lunch this week. He told me about an hour. Unfortunately I got caught up at work and didn't get back for a few hours. I got it back and it looked good as new. If I drop it again, which I'd better not, I'll take it back to Gophermods. Quick and friendly service from a locally owned company at a reasonable price. I don't see any reason to go anywhere else. read more

Mike fixed my laptop in 5 minutes and charged me almost nothing. What a contrast to Best Buy, which was going to send the computer out to be fixed in 4 to 6 weeks with a minimum charge of $85. I recommend gophermods! read more

Great, honest service. Like a previous commenter also said, I brought in a laptop with the power port jammed with a broken off tip inside it. This came from an older friend of mine on a very fixed income. Within 2-3 minutes they brought it back out, the tip removed, everything fine and working again. NO CHARGE! I was not shocked, because every time I bring a laptop, phone, or iPad here, they fix it super fast and competitively. They just said, give us a good review, if you don't mind, so here I go. I had my cracked iPad mini screen repaired by Luke. Dropped off at 11:20 am, was told it would be done in 24 hours, he'd call when it was ready. Next day, 11:40 am called and asked if it was done, as I'd be there in 20 minutes. Told it would be done in about an hour. Sigh, fine. I got there at 12:05 pm and he was OUT TO LUNCH. There was literally a Post-It note on the door. Come on, man. You opened up at 10:00 am, you're in a strip mall next door to Jimmy John's and Red Savoy, and you're not there? 12:33 pm, he unlocks and yes, it's ready. The screen was fixed. He charged $124. Luke seems totally competent and a nice guy. But man, if you aren't going to have it done in 24 hours, give me a ring or text me at least. And dude, Jimmy John's is freaky fast and literally about 25 feet from you. Eat faster. I am not going back, ever. He did a good job, but ask him to at least do the courtesy of texting or calling if he isn't going to deliver on the 24 hr turnaround time. read more

On behalf of a family member Pat T. in Minnesota who really wanted to get the word out of their great experience here: "I recently had my old Flip-Phone upgraded to a IPhone 6plus. It was my Grandaughters old IPhone, she upgraded to a IphoneX. The phone I got worked fine EXCEPT it would not ring, it would only vibrate (which I usually couldn't feel). I when to our AT&T store (that's the phone service we have) to see if they could "fix" the non-ringing problem I had. They tried to install a newer software version (from Apple) but they were unable to get it to install. They recommended I take it to an Apple Store (after all, they are the EXPERTS when it comes to these phones. I was able to get an appointment at the Uptown Apple Store in Minneapolis. They were able to install the latest software upgrade, but the ringer still would NOT work. After an hour of downloading, and trying to "tweet" software options, they decided it was a bad "Ringer/Vibrate switch on the side of the IPhone. Unfortunately, I was told this was NOT A REPAIRABLE ITEM, and I would need to purchase a replacement phone. A similar IPhone 6Plus would cost me about $600.00. My son called around a few days later and found a repair shop in Eagan that would replace the switch for about $50.00. He scheduled a time for me to take the phone in for the repair. The little shop Is called GopherMods and in located near Home Depot in Eagan. I took my IPhone in and a nice young man (I believe his name was Andy (I'm not good remembering names anymore). Took my IPhone and went into Setup and Accessibility. Within about 10-15 seconds, he was able to restore the ringer sound for me. I asked what I owed him and he said "NO CHARGE". The ringer and vibrate have been working perfect ever since. Thank you so much Andy, you'll get all our business from now on, and I'll recommend any friend who needs IPhone work to them. Funny that the Apple "EXPERTS" could only recommend a $600 replacement, where as GopherMod was able to "fix" the problem in 15 seconds and would not take any payment for the assistance. Had to bring my iPad Air in a second time due to the home button collapsing in. I was informed that I would get a different type of screen with a home button that is for the fingerprint ID as they were having issues with the home buttons on the screen that they had given me on the previous repair. I was outside of the one-year warranty but wouldn't you think there would be some leeway for warranty extension if they were installing self admitted defective screens?? The screen had no scratches or cracks or anything as I had a screen protector on it. The only issue was the collapsed button and I barely used the iPad. I was also told that the iPad would be done on Monday (I dropped off on a Friday) and I did not receive any call on Monday. I went in on Tuesday at lunch and I was told if I didn't receive a call it wasn't done. I left and received a call an hour later. I picked up and the screen has scratches under the touchscreen and I was told there is nothing that could be done. The only issue I have is that gopher mods is the only ones that have ever worked on this device.... so any LCD screen scratches are during their screen replacement. Argh! Lastly, the buttons seem a tad off when typing but it is not consistent. I have previously given this business high reviews because of other repairs on other devices but this one was not a good experience. read more

I had an iPhone 6 which quit on me - DOA. Fortunately, I had a 5S as a back-up, but learned that it would cost me $125 to trade in early if it didn't work at my local Verizon store. I took it in on a Saturday, and the very friendly greeter said he could get it running for $50, and if he couldn't, wouldn't charge me a thing. When I dropped it off, another family was there with a problematic phone for the son. They guy came out and handed him the phone and said "there were a few wires loose, and everything else checked out. No charge." Sweet. I knew I was in the right store. I came back in about 1.5 hours later, and when I walked in, the same guy was advising someone on how to reboot his iPad, saving him about $100. Again, I was impressed. My phone? Never thought I'd see it alive again - and certainly for less than $50. Ha! Up and running! The battery is going to get me to a new iPhone 7 in a few weeks. Awesome experience, and this is the one repair shop I'd recommend for ANYTHING. They are someone to be trusted, and the service is fantastic. I wish I got the guy's name who helped me, but he was very impressive. Love this place! Very impressive. 5 stars! read more
