Update....... after posting my complaint I received a call from gophermods (within 5 mins so I am assume they do pay attention to "yelp" and social media" they were very prompt regarding my issue and did a great job re-fixing my console.... kudos to the. My console stopped working and I sent it gophermods for repair. they fixed it and it works, but they did not put the blue screw back in and they damage my console. I had to go into my system to put the hard drive in, since it's missing the screw. I didn't like the fact that my system wasn't checked properly before sending it back to me, and I wasn't notified they damaged my system. read more

I can't believe I haven't left a review of this place already. Today I stopped in to get my daughter's iPhone screen replaced for the 2nd time even though she SWEARS she didn't drop it again. Oh well....for $79.00 and an hour of my time it's hard to get too upset. This is my 4th trip to Gopher Mods. 2 iphone screen replacements and twice to replace screens on LG smartphones. Each time the service has been exceptional. iPhones were done in an hour both times. The first LG screen replacement was done within 24 hours as quoted but the 2nd time they didn't actually have the replacement screen in place as they first thought so it took an extra day. They gave me a discount and shipped it overnight to my hotel as I was on the road. Today I also dropped off an older iPod touch for a screen replacement. When I dropped the phone and the iPod off they said they'd have the phone ready in a hour but iPods usually take a day so they were going to ship it to me. When I returned an hour later to get the phone they already had the iPod ready as well. **Update** I had sent my PS3 in for repair, and it was determined to be beyond repair. However, they did offer to refund me fully, and send back the materials I gave them. There was some significant delay in getting the refund and materials back (several emails and a month later), but it was returned eventually. Speedy service. I broke my iPhone's screen and tried these guys out. Price was the same as the repair at the Apple Store. Biggest difference? I would have to wait 5 days for a reservation at the Genius Bar for a repair (for the first available opening at the 5 in the metro. Here- I dropped in with my phone at about 1:40pm and they told me the repair would for sure be done same-day, and likely 90 minutes. Less than one hour I had a brand new screen on my phone. Sent my ps3 in for "YLOD" repair. It was returned with scratches that appear to be from a box knife used while opening the bubble wrap that I had shipped it in. It also was not working. I tried using different hdmi cables, different inputs on the tv etc. no luck. I contacted support and they responded that they tested for a minimum of 4 hours, but would look at it again. It was then returned to me, once again not working using hdmi. I then tried using a composite ps cable and the video now works. I does however have waving lines running through the screen, and is only 480i resolution. Once again i have contacted support and this was their reply. " A non-functioning HDMI is integrated to the motherboard and is not something that can be fixed. Sometimes a YLOD or Blinking Red Light can be caused by power surges, which can also take out an HDMI port as well. Since our Blinking Red Light fix is unrelated to the HDMI port, it wouldn't actually be covered under warranty. If you find the console unusable, however, you could send it back in and we could recycle it for you, and then issue you a complete refund." So either they get a free ps3 or i am out the $ for the repair? What about the waving lines? The scratch to the case? Or the fact that im not asking about a warranty, but that it wasn't fixed to begin with. Not recommended. read more

My Surface Pro tablet screen was destroyed in an accident. After shopping all my options for repair, I felt the $200 option with Gophermods to be my best bet. The $ includes shipping both ways and a one yr warranty. While I am fairly handy with fixing things myself, I worried that after investing close to $100 in parts, tool, shipping, that one screw up and I'm out that money. I sent in my Wii for a drive repair (it wasn't reading discs). These guys fixed it right away, and sent it back. They kept all my configuration. I was at a loss when my PS3 disc drive stopped working. Luckily I found Gophermods! These guys know what they're doing. Their prices are fair, their customer care and service as welcoming, and they offer a warranty on all products they work on. Note that the warranty is only exclusive to the specific work that they've done, not to the product as a whole (like my PS3 disc drive). If your having trouble with your system, or any other electronic device, go to these guys. One negative about their communication: they give you a date their work will be done, but may not notify you that it is done. Be sure to have the date on hand and contact them in case this happens. I surmise that they get swamped at work and forget to send the email. A negative yes, but their work speaks for itself. read more

About a year or so ago, while watching "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" on my launch "fat" PS3, the video went away, the front lights flashed and it turned off. When I went to restart it, the lights flashed yellow then it would shut off. After reading up online, I found that I had a "YLOD" or Yellow Light Of Death. Really? You mean my XBOX 360 outlived my PS3? Granted, I hardly use my 360 but I digress. After looking online for fixes, the popular choices were to try a home repair via youtube tutorial videos, have a shop "reflow" the system which isn't permanent or go for the more expensive, in depth and harder to find "reball" service. After searching for months, I found Gophermods online. They had just launched their reball service and there was a waiting list. The only bad part was that I was on the wait list for about 4-5 months before I got an email that I could send my unit in. Thankfully for me, I had bought a "slim" PS3 to hold me over. About a week or so later, my old fatty PS3 came back and works like a charm. Owner Casey Profita answered the emails personally and if you look online, you'll find some cool info about him and his business. They do tell you to only use the system for an hour or two at a time while the thermal paste cures. What I've been doing that works well is use the repaired PS3 to play blu-rays, as they are less than 2 hours each and use my slim PS3 for games (hours and hours of play). So far it's worked well with this combo, until the old one cures. Reballing isn't cheap and while I've learned that reflowing with a power supply change is now a permanent fix, I feel confident that my reballed PS3 will do fine (a one-year warranty is included). read more

I got my PS3 repaired here in August of 2011 (red blinking light/overheating). I got my PS3 back to me in about 10 days or so. It wasn't until after I got my PS3 back that Gophermods advised me that I shouldn't use my PS3 for more than 2 hours at a time. Had I known this beforehand, I would have just bought a new one instead of getting my old one repaired. Although my PS3 worked when I got it back, the internal fan would kick into "High Speed Mode" within 10 minutes (those reading this should know what I'm talking about. The fan is so loud it sounds like a jet engine. But other than that the PS3 worked fine. ....... Until now. Here we are 7 months later, and although I followed instructions and never used my console for more than 2 hours at a time, the problem is back. The PS3 overheats and shuts down. So everyone be advised, although Gophermods does work as advertised... their repair service is just a temporary fix. You should use them if you want to recover data or simply don't have the money to buy a new console. If you have the money I would suggest just replacing your entire console rather than getting it fixed. read more

Incredibly fast and friendly service at a great price. I travel a ton for work and my phone is my lifeline. I'm on my phone for hours every day. Therefore, it was very depressing when the power/lock button on my iPhone4 gave up the ghost. Luckily, I discovered Gophermods.
