Gordie brown puts on a great show! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him. You will have a night full of laughter seeing this show. I especially enjoyed one of his earlier songs redone to linkin park's In the End song making a parody about weight loss and how in the end it doesn't even matter. Hilarious! He really has moments where his voices are spot on of who he is impersonating, like Robert dinero. He had so many funny things throughout the evening and he is so talented! I remember when I first moved to Vegas (about 15 years ago), we went to see Gordie Brown. He was a big name staple for local Las Vegas, and his show was amusing enough. Flash forward to 2025, and things have really changed. I recently went to see Gordie at his very nice showroom at the Golden Nugget downtown on a comped ticket, and I can see why the casino can't even give tickets to his show away. I hate to be so mean, but everything about this show is absolutely pathetic. First, there were hardly any people in the audience. I'd say not even ¼ of the theater was filled. Second, Gordie hasn't changed up his show much AT ALL since the early 2000s, which means most of his gags, impressions, and jokes are extremely outdated. Even worse, several of them are downright racist and offensive. There's one joke he does about a Chinese restaurant that had everyone cringing. I should've gotten up and walked out, and I'm mad at myself that I didn't. I am not overly sensitive, but it was really bad and he shouldn't be doing gags like that anymore. Oof. I tried to smile and laugh because I felt so bad for him, but half the time Gordie just stood up there commenting on the small audience size and saying how "nobody came to see" his show. Uh, dude, what about the people who DID actually bother to show up? Nothing like telling your audience that they aren't good enough. This show is going to die very soon, and I cannot believe it's still running. Even if you get comped tickets, don't do it. It's not even worth going to see this sad sack loser for free. read more

This was a cute show! My friend's husband was in town & wanted to meet up for drinks so I asked him if he was interested in a show and he said Yes!! I invited my married (couple) friend's too as 4 tickets to this show was available to me. I've been in this showroom before, it's nice and big. Comfy too. There wasn't many people the night I went to see him and we got to sit in the second row!! I always love when I get to sit up close. I guess I didn't really know what Gordie's show was about but I really liked it. He sang other artist songs from things that were out before I was born, when I was in school & current. I liked the variety he offered. He also had some songs he made up himself & laughed at himself at times along the way. He also told jokes & interacted with the crowd and @ times would call out to certain audience members like comedians do during their show. He definitely has been doing his show for many, many years as he doesn't look like the ad photo for his show. That's great he's still in business and people still love him!! If you're looking for something mellow to do & want to go to an inexpensive show you need to check Gordie out!! read more

Golden Nugget is a nice casino. I have been to Gordie Brown's performance at different venues over the last 10 or more years. He puts on a great show. Lots of laughter, and great impressions. I was surprised at Vegas.com the price for two with fees was $70.44 a steal. The receptionists are very helpful and courteous. They immediately set you up for a free parking using your phone. The hour and a half show brought a lot of laughter. later we grabbed some steaks and played the tables some. Quick access to Freemason Street. A bucket list. With multi-hundred dollar venues in town, this is a bucket list item. read more

Snagged tickets for 10/2/2021 to one of my favorite impressionist shows in Vegas - Gordie Brown. This was third third or fourth time I've seen it since living in Vegas. While the material is geared towards people my parents' and grandparents' age, my husband and I were still cracking up at the new material. Thank God this is one of the few shows that has added new material this year. Some women got so offended at Brown's Trump impression that they walked out (despite the fact it was crystal clear Brown's a Republican.) I've taken my parents to this show before. If you're a Boomer or Gen X from the US, you'll really like this show, as his impressions are of celebrities from Rat Pack days through the 1990's. While we were the youngest people there, the much older audience was dyyyyiiing laughing the whole show. Would definitely up this to 4 stars if he got rid of some of the more irrelevant impressions like Hootie and the Blowfish, James Blunt, Eminem and Mike Tyson. Definitely needs to do more impressions of celebs and reference events from the past 15 years, otherwise the show is totally unsuitable for anyone born after 1990. read more

Hilarious! Gordie blew my expectations with his all his impressionists. He did more than 20 celebrities and was spot on with majority of them. From singing, dancing, to jokes, everything was perfectly performed for the show. I was laughing nonstop and even jammed to the music selections he remixed to. The Wife and I spend a decent amount of our recreational time in Downtown Las Vegas. Often after we volunteer at the Neon Museum (leading a guided tour), we choose to close out the night hanging out Downtown, whether it be drinks at the Beer Garden at the Plaza, playing 2/4 limit poker at the Golden Nugget, or simply bar hopping while walking down Fremont Street seeing all the freaky freakies and degenerates falling asleep at slot machines. Though we are by no means high rollers, we gamble enough to catch the eye of casino marketing and get sent monthly offers for little things like a comped room (usually Sun-Thurs), a free meal, or show tickets. The Golden Nugget marketing department graciously sent the wife and I an offer for two free tickets to see their resident headliner Gordie Brown on the night of our choosing. The only stipulation was that we had to request the tickets at least 1.5 hours prior to the showtime, and if we wanted specific seats, earlier than that is preferred. I chose to call GN marketing on Saturday and reserve two seats for the Sunday night performance at 730. I also desired to choose specific seats so I stopped by the GN box office (located in the lobby front desk area) on Sunday morning to pick our seats. The front desk Box Office staffer was extremely pleasant and professional. He informed me that the reserved seats were for 3rd row center. I requested to change them to a slightly further back row with an aisle seat and he easily made the change and I picked up the comped tix. Retail value was $50 per ticket. We arrived at around 7pm and took the escalators to the 3rd floor. The theater is intimate, but is strictly theater style seating. Every arm rest has a cup holder and you are permitted to bring in your own beverages. The seats are soft and comfortable, even for a portly gentleman or lady. The show started about 5 minutes late and Gordie Brown opened with a country song. If you happen to have been lucky enough to see Danny Gans when he was in residency at either The Mirage or Wynn back in the day, you will have a basis for comparison of what kind of show this is. Brown is an impressionist and comedian and the entire 1 hour 20 minute performance showcases his vocal and musical talent by means of rapid successions of various impressions (some of which are significantly better than others) interspersed with comedic routines that are quite entertaining. Granted, though he has obviously added some recent pop culture references and impressions to stay relevant (most notably being Donald Trump) most of his show caters to an older crowd that will appreciate references to bygone stars like Bette Davis, On Golden Pond, Sammy Davis Jr., and other older entertainers such as Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, and Neil Young. My wife, who is 39, struggled to understand some of the references but still found the overall show to be quite entertaining and certainly worth our time to see (since it didn't cost us any actual cash). Brown is self deprecating, mocking the fact that the theater was nowhere near sold out and that he feels it necessary to announce what impression he's going to do next in case it isn't obvious once he starts. Overall, I'm really glad I saw Gordie Brown's performance at the Golden Nugget. He is certainly a hard working entertainer and well worth the affordable $50 ticket. I would probably venture a guess that on any given night that about 25% or more of the attendees are comped guests, but be that as it may, free or not, it simply is a great show that everyone should see at least once while visiting the truly revitalized Downtown Las Vegas. read more

Oof. Looks like Gordie's act has gone downhill. I have seen his show several times in the past when he was at Golden Nugget all those years. Saw that he was at Planet Hollywood for a bit and now at Hooters. His show is pretty much the same only with one major change and a few minor ones. The main change is that he doesn't have a live band any more. Just a DJ that plays music when prompted. I assume he works for Hooters and not for Gordie. The minor changes are impersonations of Obama and Trump in which he is pretty good at. He tries to do impersonations of celebrities much more recent but in the end, he pretty much stayed with his usuals. The main thing that brought this rating down to a 2 and that's being generous is that from the minute he steps on stage he is sulking about how he got to this point in time making fun of Hooters and such. Look Gordie, I know that your act is old and no longer relevant but why would you consistently make fun of an entity that pays your salary? I hate to say It but I think his career is pretty much over. Hopefully he saved all his money through those years when he was most successful. After watching this last show I don't think I will be taking friends or family that havnt seen him to his show. It's just not entertaining any more. It was more of a sulkfest than anything. Mr Brown has updated his performance with impressions of current stars, and not just our parents era as noted in some reviews. Our friend has been involved with a touring rock band as CFO for many years, and spoke very highly of Gordie Brown's impressions and ability. Would highly recommend not missing this act . . . in addition the hotel and showroom are reminiscent of the Vegas we see in movies. read more

This is a good show- he is a talented vocalist and a funny guy. He sings songs (he changes the lyrics so be sure to listen closely- it's fun!) and he does impersonations that range the gamut from old movie stars to presidents to Elvis-and he does them all well. He also interacts with the audience. The rules state 16+ but there were younger children there. I took my 16 year old daughter and she enjoyed it, but didn't know quite a few of the celebrities he portrays; I think mature adults (say, Boomers and Gen X) will really appreciate him the most. The only down side is the small, unimpressive theater space- it seems very "community theater", the lack of cocktail servers (there is a bar, and complimentary water), and that it is in Hooters. read more

Gordie Brown... a great entertainer! His show is located at the Golden Nugget off of Fremont. The showroom is on the second floor of the casino. It's in a somewhat smaller theater but that's great for any seat in the house. Sound quality is amazing and the seats are actually quite comfy! I wasn't sure what to expect but he is very talented. The show is non-stop impressions with singing and comedy. Gordie does the entire show with a 'Robin Williams' style energy. He has a great band around him as they go through all types of genres of music. With a very entertaining show, I would come back again. He does change it up so you'll see something new. I have seen Gordie Brown more times than any other entertainer in Las Vegas and I really enjoy his show. I first saw him in 2004 and through the years have gone to see the changes in impersonations. He has changed his act some and he is depending less on George Bush and Bill Clinton for laughs but they're still in his act. And, I'm sure they'll still be drawing laughs in the years to come. Brown has updated some of his material including an attempt to do some rap to appeal to a younger crowd. The problem is, a younger crowd is generally not buying tickets for his show. The show hits very much those of middle age and older (you define middle age--I won't.) If you read the reviews on Yelp, people will often rate the show good or bad depending on their age. That's not a bad thing--it's merely what people like. I'm sure I'll be heading back to see Gordie in another two years. It was almost exactly two years since I saw him before last night and I enjoyed myself. And, I still laughed at k-nock, k-nock! If you don't understand that, go see his show! read more

Update: June 2,2019. This is the 3rd time seeing this show and every time he is hysterically funny and always has has new material!!! Loved his show! Wow! I feel I way underpaid for huge talent! Gordie is incredibly talented...an undiscovered real talent! My sister went twice and he used different material each time. I don't recall laughing this much at any other shows I've been too. Oh those Canadians! They are a funny bunch and Gordie is one hilarious Canuck! For the price of the ticket, he was a solid 90mins of laughs. There were some definite lulls, but they were immediately followed by a funny impression and/or well timed joke. The show is a hodgepodge of celebrity impersonations, some better than others (his Jim Carrey is so good it's scary!), songs, comedic observation, and audience interaction. If you are looking for a good evening show for under $40 at the Nugget and right off Fremont, this is it. You will definitely leave haven been shown some funny for the money! read more

Saw this show for a second time in October with my parents. It has changed from the first time I saw it but it was still good and my parents really enjoyed it. It was affordable and for me it was no-stop laughs. The theater at the Golden Nugget is older but gives you Old time Vegas feels which is pretty cool. There weren't many people which is probably still because of the pandemic but if you want to get out and support your local artists/economy, this is a good affordable choice for Las Vegas. read more

My wife and I saw Gordie Brown last Saturday night. We had heard of Gordie but didn't know that much about him or his act. After researching Yelp and some other sites, we discovered he was known for musical and comedic impressions. He put on the most entertaining show we attended, during this particular trip to Vegas. Highly reccomended. He was hilarious from beginning to end, never slowing down at all. He has a rare talent, combining a genuine gift for comedy and celebrity impersonations. You could tell he was improvising some of the skits, adding on items he picked out (or people he picked on) in the audience. Really a funny, funny guy. I would reccomend Gordie for the 30+ crowd. Some of the impersonations he does are of celebritys from that generation (and older). The tickets are quite reasonable and there is really not a bad seat in the house. read more

I saw Gordie Brown on Thanksgiving after I ate at the Gold Nugget buffet. The theater was upstairs from the buffet and it was a small theater. The chairs were comfortable, but I felt that our seats were lower than the row in front of us. Regardless, we still saw the stage just fine to watch the show. Anyways, Gordie Brown's impressions were good for most of them. There were a lot of older people in the crowd so some of the references that he made got laughs from them. Came to see Gordie Brown about 3 years ago and didn't really remember the show so I decided to come see it again, this time along with the gf, Rachel S. This show is definitely meant for an older crowd, and no I'm not saying that just because 98% of their patrons appear to be AARP members! It's because I didn't get a lot of the references and impressions he was making during the show, and thus didn't think a majority of the show was funny at all. On the other hand, Gordie is a very talented singer and impressionist which is basically what the show is...a mixture of covers and comedy based on musicians and celebrities that were famous before I was born. This is the kind of show you would take your parents or grandparents to, but not really go on your own unless you got free or discounted tickets. However, it might be worth going again just to see all the old folk go cray cray over some covers of old songs! read more

The Gordie Brown relationship started at a Celine Dion concert. Gordie was the opening act and Celine raved about his show and said it was a "must see" in Sin City so..... I added to my bucket list cause if Celine loves him I love him. So Gordie Brown is at the Golden Nugget in the original old style Vegas. First of all, this place was insaaaaaaanely awesome at night. I almost cried when my battery went dead on my phone and I was unable to take pictures. This is where the Elvises are, the midgets and the crazies all shuffled together in one area for pics and entertainment....ok back to Gordie. Yeah...the crowd seemed older, but Gordie is a good ole wholesome funny and I can appreciate wholesome funny. He is an impersonator; that's his talent. You're not coming here for Chris Rock stand-up comedy, you're coming here because you're the funny one that's gonna make fun of everything that's not funny and look around at your friends while everyone else thinks its super funny and then you're gonna be a good sport and laugh to pretend its funny. My group of 4 were front row spectaros to this little show, so this was our strategy and we had a blast. He does Julio Iglesias, Adam Levine, Elvis and I think he's awesome. I got my deal thru Travelzoo, so if you can get a deal; it's definitely worth a shot. It will give you a reason to go to this part of town and for us it was definitely not regrettable. read more

Saw Gordie Brown years ago at Planet Hollywood and now at Hooters recently with three family members, great seats and show started on time. It was a fun show, however the impression of Morgan Freeman was bad! Unless you're over 50, you won't know a lot of the impressions he's doing, Jimmy Stewart, Al Pacino, Joe Cocker, millennials are not familiar with them.
