A very secluded and family run farm ... gets crowded on weekends and sometimes everything is sold out by 9 am. My friends get different types of meat and eggs from here and they vouch for the quality . It's a huge farm and they maintain it very well. Lots of parking available . We know people come 30-40 miles to get meat from this farm . It is so popular . They sell country chicken and fresh meats . I also saw a board which said they sell rabbits , duck , guinea hens etc ! !!! I also saw pigs , beef and other items sold . Priced ok. Competitive pricing . Overall a very good farm but I wish they had more stock and don't get sold out soon . 4 stars ! read more

I've been a regular to the Dey farms for over a year now, mostly buying the free range chicken. Being an Indian I've always wanted to buy fresh chicken like how we do it back home as against to buying refrigerated chicken from a supermarket. So my quest to buy and cook a free range chicken ended at Dey farms one fine day. I get to pick my hen, they'll fire roast it for you and cut it to your liking. You will notice a tremendous difference in the taste when sit down to savor this chicken. Apart from the meat, they also sell seasonal vegetables, fresh eggs and honey. The place is pretty crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but if you call in and order in advance, you should be in and out pretty quickly. It's a family run place by a sweet bunch of people, and you could see they really do it with passion and care. Thanks to Dey farms my Sunday afternoons are delicious!!! read more

Not a lot of places like this around. Live poultry, fresh eggs. We even saw a guy carrying out a fresh piglet. If you don't want to acknowledge that your food was once alive, I recommend that you stick to the supermarket. There is a pretty long wait on Saturday mornings. They said you can call and order in advance, so that might help. Fresh food is always the best....although this type of food shopping experience is not for everyone. read more

I've been coming to Gordon Dey Farms with my mum since I was about 5 years old. I remember when she would tell me stories about how the original owners would laugh and chuckle when I would run around chasing chickens and of course try to ride the goats like a horse. It's a place that is near and dear to my heart and is much more then just a slaughter house. It's that kind of place where you can walk around and instantly remember your childhood and the happy memories you shared with your parents. This place is family owned and operated for about 38 years and have about 5 to 9 employees and you can tell how much love is put into a farm based off the quality of animals that are raised there. Most of the members of this farm live right on the premises which ensures all animals are safe even thru the coldest winters and worst weather. I am 29 years old now and I still visit the farm with my mom today. I don't chase the chickens anymore but once in a while I still enjoy riding the goats, lol You can hand pick a variety of different chickens or you can let one of the staff members pick it for you. 8 out of 10 times when I visit the farm, Im coming for the chickens and the fresh eggs. On special days, I might order a lamb or a pig. If you never had a pig roast, this is where you start. I've seen them feed the animals here and everything is all natural. No crap is put into the food to enhance the animal like your normal super market produce. Ive seen people come from all over to visit this farm and the next time you sit down to have a meal at your favorite restaurant, don't be surprised if what your eating comes from here. One thing to remember this place is a cash only farm and I enjoy that because it helps keep the cost down and allows the owner to pass on the savings. Where can you get a whole chicken these days for about $7 dollars? Every person is entitled to their opinion but I saw one comment on here which made me upset to read. My only advice would be to go back and try the farm again. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience next time. This Gem is a must visit! read more

I got a pig from this place for my son's Birthday I roasted the pig on my back yard. It was a long drive from my location but my kids and I had fun picking our own pig. They are very hard workers, and nice people. They will clean out the pig or other meats for you. Fantastic place! I got a pig for a pig roast here for my national guard unit. Order a week in advance and let them know how big you want it. They also have animals that they clean and dress onsite for you. My wife an I came back a month later and got a guinea hen which was delicious! So fresh! I recommend bringing a cooler as the freshly killed animals need to be chilled down if you have a ways to drive home. If you are there visiting at lunch time, there is a guy who makes great pork tacos with tongue and liver! They also have lambs, rabbits, chickens and goats. read more

I come to Dey Farms quite frequently. Their variety and freshness is exceptional. All the animals are live and you can choose which you'd like, depending on your use for it and price point. I don't know much about choosing an animal, but they are always so helpful in making my decision. Whether I want a chicken to roast or stew, lamb to grill or roast, they suggest what's best ! They have the best chicken. I can obviously tell from the broth when cooking the chicken for soup, it is so savory ! Although they do get very busy on weekends on holidays, you can call ahead and place an order and it will be ready for you when you arrive ! Overall, great experience ! 1st class outfit. i roast at least a dozen pigs and a lamb or two a year and will only use them! if time is at a premium i can call ahead, place an order by weight and how i need it dressed, and it's in the walk in refrigerator when i get there. i do, however, prefer showing up choosing from the large stock of grain fed pigs and taking home the tasty, fresh, and precision dressed animal to prepare for the next day's event. they have an outstanding selection of livestock from chickens, to steer, to rabbits, pheasants, to everything in between and serve restaurants and individuals alike. read more

A sad place filled with small scared animals that huddle together hoping to not be picked out by one of the screaming "humans". You can not buy an animal live from here. Odd rule. They promote only death and the energy here is soul crushing. How people bring their children here is beyond me, but the children that I did see, did not look happy. Every year i come here to pick out a turkey for Thanksgiving. Every year i am more than impressed with this farms operation. They are continually upgrading and making changes based on what the customers wants and needs are. First class all the way! The animals are well taken care of , the service is top notch, the end result is quality!! Great job Gordon Dey Farms! I would recomend you "shop" here before going to the big chain supermarkets. We bought a chicken today. We told them we wanted a roaster and they chose a brown hen, about 5.5 lbs live weight. When we got home we weighed the bird and it was over 7 lbs cleaned. Apparently they gave us someone else's chicken. We cooked it anyway and it was so tough and stringy that it was inedible. It's now in the freezer and will be taken back for a refund. I doubt we will ever buy another chicken at Dey Farms. The process of ordering and identifying whether you're getting the bird you selected is totally dysfunctional. We will stick with Whole Foods.or the Amish market. read more

their meat is ok, at least fresh, but not organic. i had many time somewhat not happy experience there in the past two years. i always order two rosters there, but 1/3 of times, i will get one roster and one hen. i understand it as there are many people waiting there, they might get confused with customers and mixed the orders. today i went there again, and went there early, no one is waiting, and they already prepared all chicken. ordered two rosters again, i did not check, get back home, it is one roster, one hen. it is very clear it is a hen from the chicken head, and the hen is much much fatter than roster. very unhappy with that! are they playing trick on customers? or they just get confused. highly recommend people to check their order before leave. read more

I cannot give five stars to the farm though the rooster tasted excellent.After seeing all reviews, we decided to go there with great expectations.Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience even my cousin did not buy anything after seeing bad behaviors of the workers. I was asking for a rooster, but one of the workers started showing me some hens. Again, he harshly told me that I need to buy at least five and necessarily I went to the farm's office and bought one. I used to go to Pennsylvania to buy goat prepared the African way, not knowing there was no need since Gordon Dey Farms was next town. I found the place by accident on the web through reviews on Yelp. The preparation and finishing was so neat and quick I could hardly believe my luck. I talked to the owner and his daughter - they were nice. Very satisfied with their service and with the fact that it is so close by. Going back there for sure. read more
