As with any grocery store, I strongly recommend checking expiration dates before purchasing. In their fish department, be sure to examine the clarity of the fish's eyes to ensure freshness. The overhead sprinklers in the produce section can sometimes oversaturate the vegetables, so it is worth inspecting those carefully as well. The employees are not particularly chatty, but if you need assistance navigating the store, they are helpful and will point you in the right direction. The aisles are generally well organized and well stocked during the weekdays. On weekends, however, the store is more crowded, and there have been times when specific items I was looking for were either limited or unavailable. The ambiance is okay, and the parking is easy, as it is in a strip mall, and there are plenty of parking spaces. There is a small eating area available if you would like to eat a prepared entree after purchasing it. A sign indicates they are happy to heat your said entree if needed, but I didn't see anyone available to assist. Given the number of excellent eateries surrounding the supermarket, we chose not to purchase and heat any entrees there. This grocery store is conveniently located for those who prefer not to travel all the way to Edison's Asian markets, particularly HMart. It's worth noting that prices here tend to be a dollar or two higher than at HMart. However, when you factor in savings on gas and travel time, it can often be more practical to shop locally. read more

Huge Korean supermarket located in a plaza with multiple Asian restaurants. It has all the essential Korean products at prices similar to Hmart. Items are well organized. Checkout is simple. There is a giant parking lot that doesn't seem to ever get completely packed. No complaints! read more

Extremely disappointed with the customer service I received from the store manager/owner. On Monday, I purchased a box of strawberries (~8pm) and discovered mold on them later that day. When I returned the next day (~7pm), a sign on the door explained the store was closed due to temporary electrical issues and would reopen in a day. I came back on the third day, but the manager refused my request for a refund, insisting that returning within 24 hrs was my responsibility. I explained that I came but saw that they were closed, and the manager said he actually had someone in the store and I should have walked in to check. Fine, I take the blame of not going in to check, but I fail to see how it is fair to expect this much from the customer while simply not acknowledging selling spoiled food and take responsibility. I give a rating of 2 stars. 1 for the staff at checkout who were kind, helpful and sympathetic, which I really appreciate. 1 for the fact that the manager eventually refunded me, by slamming on his keyboard at the cashier and then walked back to his room before I can tap my card. Now they are not as fresh as before and the prices of everything in the store went up. I am making more trips to Edison Hmart nowadays. It appears there is a new owner and some prepared food are sold for discount after 6pm. Woo Ri Mart is such an amazing Asian grocery store! It feels so comfortable to shop here, everything is SO well organized, neat, and clean! They have such variety of Asian/Asian American groceries that brings me back to my childhood! Their produce is so fresh and reasonable priced, such a gem in this economy! I also love their fish section -- I can get fresh salmon and mackerel!! Another HUGE plus is the hot food bar! This Asian supermarket, albeit small, is packed to gills. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with delcious,beautiful produce. From korean pears to oyster mushrooms. Cut up and packaged fruit and greens. The variety is substantial. Then theirs the seafood section. Guys are great and courteous. Always have deals going on. Plus, frozen seafood in cases in front. Alot to choose from. In between sections are random things on sale. From Ramen to produce. They have a hot bar with prepackaged soups, bam Chan, lunch bento or dinner bento, Korean fried chicken, sushi, poke, seaweed salads, dumplings etc. Meats and poultry are plentiful. Prepackaged meal kits, with udon, stews, etc. Noodles and sauces, etc. This store is epic and very clean. Employees are very helpful and pleasant. It's become my go-to store for all my asian groceries. It's relatively close to my area so I don't have to travel far. It's definitely a great store to check out. You have to navigate the store to find the ramen aisle. Once there look for the lime green packaging! You will find tucked away amongst the others a package of Raman with the official vegan label. Buyers beware: I urge every shoppers to check their receipts after shopping, because the store owner may overcharge you and will never give you money back if you point out his misconduct. Disgusting truth: The owner is dishonest and treats his customer like shit when he is confronted. Detailed facts: 1) I brought back a head of Chinese cauliflower that costed $9.60 that I mistaken for $3.49. He refused to refund me because I wasn't able to make back there within 24 hours. I accepted it. 2) He overcharged me $3.99 and his prices for certain sale products were inconsistent. He said the inconsistency was in the computer system and he couldn't do anything about it. I said he was the owner so he should be able to overwrite it if he wanted to. He said he didn't want to. He said he refunded me $3.99 but actually he didn't. 2) All the western stores will honor you half of the discount price if you buy one of the two on a buy 2 get a deal. At this woo ri mart, it applies to some products but not all. Employees told me I would still get half of the deal price. But the Korean owner said his employees knew nothing. I had to buy the second pack to get the deal. After I bought the second pack, he only gave discount to the second pack but not the first pack. His explanation was I had to buy two at the same day. He said he had already do me a favor for charging me less on the second pack. I then requested to return my extra purchase because I didn't need to buy the second pack. He told me to go back the second day for a return. 3) When I asked to return my entire purchase, he said his time worth money. He didn't have time for that. He said his merchandise were already cheap and I should shop at the chinese store in future. He ordered me to leave his store right away. I asked him where was my $3.99 overcharge refund he agreed on. He threw me three $1 bills in the air reluctantly as if I was a beggar. Conclusion: He must be an imbecile to argue over a few dollars with his loyal customer. I can live without Korean food but he will forever lose me and my relations as his customers. My family have been regular customers to WooRi Mart in Princeton Junction since its opening, often shopped there 1-2 times a week and generally liked it. However, a terrible experience in store today (April 22nd) with a young guy in his 20s, claiming being a manager of the store, has changed my impression to the opposite direction. To be clear, this is the first time I met him over years of shopping in this store; all the other people have been generally courteous. What happened was that my kid bought a box of cream puffs at 8:44pm the night before yesterday. But yesterday my kid found it had molds but forgot to let me know (I had a busy online conference entire day yesterday anyway). I actually took 2 yesterday and was having diarrhea today and was wondering why. This evening when I had to go out, my wife told me about it and asked me to return it by the way to the store. When I entered the store, I asked for the manager to explain. A young guy in his 20s came to me, saying in authentic English that he is the manager. I told him I need to return the item because it had molds. Without even checking it and any hesitation he denied right away saying it cannot be true! He said they checked the foods every day. I was upset saying you are accusing me of lying? There is no reason for me to lie for it! Over the years of shopping in this store, even though we occasionally had issues with fruits and foods, we never made them an issue and returned them. He threatened me to leave the store. Actually he did go outside the store and waited for me to talk outside. I know why he did that because he didn't want the other customers to hear it! By then I was actually less upset about the food than being accused of lying! He bluntly told me he is not obligated to accept the return and refund me because it was after 24 hours for the perishable food. By the receipt it is true; however I thought he could do better than that. Can you imagine cream puffs were in good conditions within 24 hours but suddenly grown out a few molds in several in 48 hours? In the end he did agree to refund me. However, listen to what he said when he was giving me the $7 cash refund: he said, repeatedly, which I had the recording, "now you're rich!". I'm near my 60s, having worked professionally for 25 years. For a young man in his 20s to say like that to an elderly Asian (or anyone else), it was very insulting! Clean, friendly and well stocked. Primarily Korean, they do offer a fair amount of Chinese and Japanese products. Chappagetti (Jjajan), Golden Curry, and Milkis are all like crack to me. WooRi always has them. However they have many many other great things to explore, try, and rely on. If like me, you love rice, WooRi has "just a little bit" of rice to choose from. The rice selection is wide and availability can probably be measured in tons. Much of the produce is fresher and more abundant than the grocery stores close to me. They offer fresh prepared dishes which include several Korean staples as well as a sufficient variety of sushi. If you are curious, adventurous or perhaps looking for some hard to find Asian ingredients, do not pass up WooRi. If you are inexperienced with Korea cuisine and are not much of a cook, be sure to cruise down the frozen aisle for some easy approachable options. There's some fun stuff in there. At least go check it out, I highly doubt you would be disappointed if you have even the slightest interest in Asian (Primarily Korean) food. read more

I really like this place. There's a wide assortment of noodles and snacks and fresh produce. They are pretty good about keeping the labels on the shelves in English too. I've found a variety of snacks and meals here that I haven't found elsewhere and all for reasonable prices. The baked goods could be a little fresher and less expensive though. Everyone who works there is very polite. Main complaint is the line situation. It can take forever to pay and leave. Okay ....so Woori Mart is no H Mart,Not by a long shot but its clean, packed to the rafters with all things Korean and close. First visit to Woori Mart and it's readily apparent this is just a large " Mom and Pop" joint. The fruits and vegetables seem a bit past their prime as I saw some moldy lemons and the now hip Naju pears had age spots....Not a great first impression. Wet market was spotless with no aroma but most of the fish wore plastic wrap, shell fish were plentiful if a bit pricy. All the traditional Korean meat cuts were represented both in the fresh and frozen sections but really nothing to write home about but their frozen marrow bones brought all sorts of tasty recipes to mind. Every noodle,seaweed,crunchy snack,marinade,sauce,seasoning are at least partially represented on Woori Mart's crowded shelves. There is a small Sushi bar and a selection of hot Korean favorites are available for take out but no Soondae? The one thing that was impressive was the huge selection of Kimchi that takes up major real estate on the far wall of this small market. So in my mind there are two major reasons to pay Woori Mart a visit... It's closer to me than H Mart and I'm not walking out with 6 bags of Korean treasures and $150.00 less in my checking account........... read more

Do not be deceived by the fact that this is classified as a local family-run store. It is a large and fully-stocked supermarket. As a Korean store, it has many Asian products but it also stocks a wide range of other products including a fair number of gourmet-style offerings. If you do any Asian cooking such as Chinese, Thai or Korean, you will find many ingredients and a large variety of frozen foods. Their South Asian offerings are limited. I am not Asian, but like to keep a number of Asian products in my kitchen, such as tofu and shirataki noodles. I also use seasonings like soy sauce, and Thai seasonings. There are better stocked Asian stores but this one is very convenient and worth a 20 minute drive. It is extremely clean, which is very important to me. The meat products are fresh and beautifully trimmed and packaged, By and large, the produce is good and very inexpensive. They have a fair selection of organic produce and nicely-prepared sliced vegetables and fruits which are very convenient. The one area that I have been unhappy with is their packaged organic salad greens and cherry tomatoes which I have found less flavorful than I would like. On the other hand, they have many varieties of mushrooms available. Cold-cuts and cheeses are packaged, rather than sliced on demand. They do have fresh fish, however. This has become my go to store for many staples as the quality, ,most prices and cleanliness are excellent. read more

Woori Mart discounts their prepared food in the afternoon and stickers the eligible buy one get one free dishes. A couple of weeks ago the store charged full price for everything. After returning to question the charges when the dishes were clearly marked they indicated that the sale doesn't begin until after 6:00 and our receipt was processed at 5:39. We've bought this BOGO deal several times in the past and it was before 6:00. Additionally there are no signs indicating the sale prices are not honored before 6:00 and it's false advertising if they have the sale sticker on the item but don't sell it to you for that price. The manager was extremely rude and lacked any professional customer service. Lastly I would check your expiration dates on packaged goods, we've found several products being sold past the expiration date. read more

Love this place! The owners and employees are doing a fantastic job! It's always clean, well stocked/organized, and has helpful and friendly service. Much better than the old Acme and infinitely superior to the disastrous Mrs. Greens which it replaced. The produce section is vast, varied, and of high quality. The gentleman in charge of produce is awesome and makes excellent recommendations on which fruit is good at the moment. The seafood department is very fresh and has some of the tastiest shrimp in the area. This store also carries the best beef in the area which is a pretty big accomplishment considering how many food stores/supermarkets are within a 15 minute driving range. It's perhaps not as big of a name as H Mart but it makes me think of a Korean grocery store I grew up going to with my family in Philadelphia called Kobawoo which was one of my favorite places to go to when I was young with all the Korean food and goodies! They are a good sized store with fresh made food, pre-made foods, fresh seafood section, lots of great produce, and other popular products. read more

The meat selection, while not huge, is a 10 out of 10 when it comes to quality. They have thin sliced ribeye which I made during the week (orange beef in the wok) and it was like absolute butter. The produce is also top quality. Prices are very reasonable. I've only been there three or four times it's never crowded (I hope it survives). First time the food was way salty and the ingredients were not fresh, hence the reason for the saltiness or trying to cover up the bad taste with sauce. Great Korean supermarket, Woo Ri Mart. Within walking distance (~10 minutes) from the Plainsboro train station. Opened not too long ago so their grand opening flags are still up and inside some areas are still receiving their finishing touches. Nice selection of seafood, vegetables, and my favorite the prepared food court. Staff were friendly and helpful. The fish monger picked out some amazing whole shrimp 16/20 (head and shell attached) that I put on the grill. They were sweet and delicious without any seasoning. Not even salt. They had several tasting sample stations introducing different products. Just ate before coming, so a snack of almond bubble tea, curry bread and Salmon avocado maki roll was eaten by the fam. Can't wait for the Banchan station to open. Took one star away because of two issues. The first is the fruit and vegetable isles are so narrow that only one cart can fit. See the attached picture showing the cart in the fruit and vegetable isle. The other shelf isles are normal width; meaning two carts can pass each other. The second issue is some portion of the store is still under construction. Like I mentioned above about the Banchan station and in the attached picture of the food court. I am sure given some time, Woo Ri will finish all setup and I can add the missing star. read more

Woori Market has steadily gone downhill. It wasn't the best to begin with as the prices there are higher than other Korean markets by a dollar or more per item. But after Covid-19, it is very pricey and the vegetables are not the freshest. Today, they sold discounted peppers for $1 in a bag that had black spots and were very wrinkled. Rather than squeezing out a dollar, please throw out your rotting produce. They definitely overcharge on their products but I do go in a pinch as it is relatively nearby. All the processed food is ok, just make sure to check their dates. But after today's WORST customer service experience, I won't be back. Once in a while, they have coupons which gives you 10% off on your groceries. I forgot to give them the coupon, but literally right after I paid, I told the cashier I had the coupon. I apologized for my mistake. The nice cashier got the manager. The manager started off by talking to me in a nasty tone and telling me that I already checked out so he would not honor the coupon. I asked if I could return it and re-buy the items. He gave me a death stare and told me I would have to return everything and then go shopping again. I asked if I could keep my cart and he said NO in a very angry way. Wow! Can we say petty? Forget decent customer service, I have rarely seen a manager that angry for a simple request. Frankly, had he spoken kindly to me, I probably would have not even sought out the return and just gone home with my products. The angry manager snatched the receipt from my hands and started processing my return. He then shouted at the cashier to put everything away so I could not rebuy what was in my cart. Mind you, I bought items including fish they had cleaned and cut, and baby octopus. I guess they don't mind putting back items that have been handled and cut for another customer. Is that even sanitary? I also tried to check out my receipt after the return and the manager screamed at me to move. He said I was in an area I wasn't supposed to be in. I moved maybe 150 feet from the check out so I wouldn't be in any one else's way. This manager was once again being petty. Customer service is non existent at Woori Market. I have seen people treat their dogs with more respect than at Woori Market. Please do not give out coupons if you do everything in your power to not honor them. Or take a deep breath and try to be civil. Most people are understanding if you can be kind. After this, I plan to just go to the Asian Market in Plainsboro and frankly, Sam's club, Trader Joe's and especially Costco which carries many of the same Korean products at much cheaper prices. (Tofu, Bibigo dumplings, kimchee, marinated Korean beef, pork belly, roasted seaweed, rice, prepared rice that can be microwaved, Melona ice cream bars, ramen in bowls, Milkis drinks, etc.) It is definitely not worth the convenience of Woori Market's location if you get screamed at by a manager who is supposed to specialize in good customer service. It is worth traveling to Costco and buying much cheaper and better quality Korean products. read more

Besides the competitively priced vegetables, rest of the store is not cheap. They have sales, but it's always those same few items. They also have charged me with the wrong price. Heard about this place from a coworker and went that same weekend. It's conveniently located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. Once I first walked inside, my first impression was that it was very clean. The produce prices were much cheaper than the other Asian markets around. The napa and Chinese broccoli were only $.99/head. Also, scallions were $1 for 5 bunches, ere most places were the same price for 3 bunches. They also have a small food court inside with korean, sushi, and bubble tea. The good was pretty good there. I think this will be our go to place for Asian food now. There is also a ramen place opening up next door soon as well. read more

The cleanest and priciest Asian market I've ever been to. On one hand, if you want bulk ramen, chile pastes, and other super-sized items, this is your place. GIANT 4lb bags of gyoza or buns in the frozen section, gallon-sized buckets of kimchi. It kind of reminded me of a Korean Sam's Club. There are also those neat Japanese whistles that look like lifesavers. On the other hand, if you're looking for the rock-bottom prices and aisle after aisle of bizarre or curious produce, meats, & packaged goods, swimming fish to entertain the kids, the Plainsboro or Franklin Park markets make far more sense. There's also no BBQ, or seaweed noodles, which made me sad. The highlight for us was the tiny cart for my kid to push--he loved it, though the aisles are rather narrow with the stacks of groceries every few feet. Super friendly staff, a section with clean tables to eat, all of the basics. It's one mile closer than the Asian Food Market, honestly not bad at all and worth it were I to really need that extra 20 minutes saved or lived in West Windsor and needed a box of disposable chopsticks, but my vote remains for the Plainsboro market. read more

I usually enjoy shopping at Woori for my Asian groceries. They have a great selection of Asian products and a bunch of samples usually. But, in light of Covid-19, shopping at Woori was an extremely stressful experience. While I was pleasantly surprised by how well stocked they were (I thought that flour was entirely out everywhere, but not at Woori), the store is small to begin with and the lack of a customer limit made many aisles tight. It's impossible to socially distance when many customers and workers are simultaneous trying to access the aisle. The other issue was masks. While all shoppers are required to wear masks, many of them were wearing them improperly. Some had the nose exposed, others the mask wasn't covering the chin address. I was also shocked to see that some of the workers weren't even wearing the mask all the time. They were talking to each other in the meantime without social distancing either. They do curbside pickup, so that might be a good option for people who want Asian groceries still but not the cramped aisle experience. But still, the lax employee attitude towards protection is concerning. read more

I've been eagerly waiting for this supermarket to open and am so excited to have it close to home. We used to go to H Mart in Edison which was too far from us. In between H Mart trips we would grudgingly go to the Asian Market in Plainsboro---grudgingly because it really doesn't meet our cleanliness and smell test standards. Woori Mart is clean, well organized, with a dizzying array of excellent produce, seafood and groceries for both Asian and Western palates at very competitive prices. I was ecstatic when they started offering prepared foods - jap chae, seafood pancakes, and bean sprouts are my favorites. I also load up on pre-marinated and packaged bulgogi and kalbi for those dinner nights when prepping is not my priority. I have yet to try their sushi dishes. I hope they would consider a bakery section in the near future. That's what I miss by not going to H Mart -- Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours bakeries for their divine pastries and cakes.
