We recently spent some time on Lake Walloon and visited Barrel Back Restaurant and this General Store, as well as the park nextdoor. This place now offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, grocery items, Michigan brands, apparel, houseware stuff, and so much more. The staff is friendly and the store is huge and beautiful! Prices are reasonable too... On our recent visits, we purchased some beverages, sandwiches and Better Made chips too. (While in Michigan, amiright?!) If you find yourself in the area, don't miss a visit to this General Store -- even if you think you don't need anything, you'll find something to purchase, guaranteed!

Terrible, rude service! We were told less than 1/2 hour wait for sandwiches. She had to add that it was sometimes a 1-1.5 hour wait so we should be happy. Some people (apparently locals) walked in and got their sandwiches right away. After 45 minutes, we asked and it turned out they stuck our order in a bucket at the back of the line and had not even started it. They claimed they would put the order at the front of the line and it would take 15 more minutes, even though they were new customers walking in and it was less than a 15 minute wait. We asked if they could make them faster. The young man apologized nicely but the older lady owner/manager stepped in and said rudely that's all they could do. She did not apologize let alone offer us a discount for their mistake. We understand they were busy and people make mistakes but there is no excuse for treating customers so rudely after their clear error. We planned on spending over $100 but apparently our money was not good enough for them. This was 4th of July week so I was wearing a USA t shirt and we are convinced this is why they "lost" our order and treated us so poorly. Avoid this place at all costs especially if you love America!

I love that they do it twice a week in summer as this gave us ability to eat local throughout the week. Everyone is friendly and it is well organized. It is a fun morning experience as you can get local honey, taste some specialty teas, but a carved wood gift, try on handmade earrings, taste some local blueberries or peruse the scrumptious produce. We go every time we are in town and we love being able to learn about local businesses as well when they come to the market. We have tried mixed mustard, tomato butter and other new items for us all as a result if finding them at this farmers market!
