This store is a great store. They had problems on start up when they origionally opened, but that was all cleared up! The employees are friendly and very helpful! I hated it when they changed the store lay out but I got used to it! Nice job meijer! read more

Went through the self checkout and there was no one working to help assist with my purchase.

I went into the store to add money onto my cash app card. I was met with Brenda at customer service who said she knew how to put the money onto the card. She was very rude from the with other employees instead of showing me good customer service. This continued through our entire interaction. I was very displeased with the customer service, not only from her, but from the manager, she had to call up to help her because after all did not know how to put money on a card. read more

The Meijer in Gaylord may be big & beautiful, but my experience was far from it. I attempted to ask a bakery person if they had a smaller (5 in.) cake in stock. She didn't allow me to even finish my sentence. All I got from her & later from the store Director was a litany about ordering cakes ahead. It turned out they did have several small cakes ready to go. Also the bakery phone didn't work well; why don't they fix it? I don't like an employee or a store Director jumping down my throat! Oh my gosh. I usually live to shop at a Meijer even in this pandemic. This store is terrible. First the layout sucks. Frozen food by home goods, cheese by baby department. What fool designed this? It must have been so you shop other departments but I don't look for stuff when I'm with cold food produces. Also I went to pay my charge at the service desk and it took about 15 -20 minutes and I was the only one there. Their machine would not take my credit card after it did the machine frozen so we had to go to the other register and start again. Checkout was extremely busy. This is a giant kudos to person responsible for garden center offerings. I have been going to this store since it opened in my area. I shop the garden area every year. This year I was blown away by the variety and offerings in garden department. Not less expensive but just as good, if not better, than selection at other local nurseries. read more

Not the best Meijer I've been in, but it is our last gas stop before the UP. Ten cent per gallon discount if you use MPerks and the Meijer credit card. Trey also are one of the few places I've always been able to get Charleston Chews every time. It's usually busy at the pumps. Bathrooms appear to get a lot of use. There's some grassy areas near by to let the dog take a break while you fill your tank. A little farther off the freeway, but worth the trip. read more

I performed an air-headed move; I made a purchase at the Gaylord, Michigan, Meijer on July 2nd, became distracted with assisting my sister with her purchase at the adjacent self-check-out and left the store without my bag and the receipt. I drove all the way home and then realized that I came home without my purchase. I phoned the store immediately and the person who assisted me said, "That will be no problem; just return with the credit card you used for the purchase". A return to the store to pick-up the bag containing the purchase or for a credit was completely futile. Upon describing the contents of the bag to the Customer Service rep, she said "Oh, we had your purchase here, but we returned the merchandise to the floor and threw the receipt in the trash. You cannot receive a credit without the receipt and I am not going through the trash looking for it". So, she acknowledged that she knew I received nothing in exchange for my money and that the receipt was in the bag, but refused to do anything to provide a credit, even though a scan of the credit card showed the purchase in their system. The rep's call to the manager brought the same response. "Sorry, we can do nothing for you without a receipt". So, I made a donation to the Meijer with no goods in exchange for my money. There is no limit to how stunned I am at that absence of customer care. I will not ever be returning to a Meijer. read more

I actually added this business to Yelp do that I could write a review about how great our cashier, Bethany, was. She was not only very pleasant, but she actually bagged our groceries the way we had staged them on the belt. The store itself was bright, well stocked, and in an up to date layout. Also an employee from the meat department saw the bewildered look on my face and stopped to direct me to the ham. Best experience I've had at a Meijer in ever! read more

It's Thanksgiving and you'd think the staff would be upset they had to work. Everyone was so helpful this morning! We were searching for a special toy and Dennis in the pet department called to help. Immediately two girls were there to help. Each of them wishes us a Happy Thanksgiving. I asked if they were bummed they had to work. Each of them had a positive response. Most said, "at least I don't have to cook." Or they had family plans later. Everyone was so nice. Thanks for making our special Thanksgiving trip to Gaylord from Grayling a great way to start our day. read more

I love how it's close to a lot of neighborhoods and I love the for 10 for 10 sale. Target doesn't have that. I also like how they remodeled it and that it's very big. Everybody's nice there and friendly read more

I like to patronize local businesses and Michigan companies but this is the worst set up of a Meijer store I've ever been to. Actually, of any store I've been to. Horrible layout. Made my experience there very frustrating. I will not shop there again. I would love to talk to the person who thought that was a good idea!!! read more

Annette cashier in lane 17 No personality and complained when she had to pack the bags that my husband forgot. He ran out and grab them, she never got behind on register for our order. Not even a one star...went into Meijer today to grab some groceries, went up to the self checkout which was completely empty, proceeded to be told by the attendant that we are not allowed to use it because we have more than 20 items... looked down and found that they had only 3 lanes open, went and got in line, which ran through part of the clothing department, waiting in line for 10 minutes, not even the cart checking out initially had moved in that time frame, decided forget this, I'm going back to the empty self checkout, didn't even care, told my girlfriend, if they tell me I can't I'll just leave the cart. Pulled up ignored the attendant who was in my ear. I started checking out and I told her I'm going to check out. The attendant starts pulling the items out of my hand as I'm trying to check out and starts yelling at me to refuse service. Of course I was pissed and gave her hell right back. Either way, this store has always been pretty terrible when it comes to long lines and poor service, but this takes the cake and I will tell everyone I can how terrible this store is...if you can't manage your people better, close the doors! I hope you end up closing this store. Will not ever be back in that store again. read more
