Keep your valuables safely in your pockets! The grating is just the right size to lose a cell phone through! Whole endeavor took us about 20min. But it's pretty unique and well worth the stop!

We visited 7.26.2026 in the afternoon considering there were more people. Finding parking seemed easier this time around. I realized two changes from Sept 2009 in comparison with July 2026. First, I don't remember having to pay for parking. Now, there are posted signs with QR codes indicating pay for parking. Second, water appeared brackish which I do not recall back in the day. Rosedale Suspension Bridge is the same as The Star Mine Suspension Bridge.

It may not compare to the Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah or the Goreme Valley in Cappadocia, Turkey but you will not regret the experience. The Hoodoos are beautiful and are very nice to use as a backdrop for photo ops. The rock formation and landscape alone are the highlight. I am sure the view will be spectacular during sunrise or sunset. This place is a 3 hour drive from Edmonton where my sister lives. We had a great time taking memorable photos and hiking up to the top. What a fantastic view!!! Make sure to wear good quality shoes when you're planning to hike. It is quiet challenging. But the top view is fabulous. It is a 360 view of the valley.

It was the only day to go so I couldn't have experienced it on a better day. We were only able to walk up to the top of the steps and came back to the car. Some kids slipped and fell into the mud. So if you visit on a wet day prepare with a change of clothes. There is parking across that costs $2.50 which isn't terrible at all. The shops I think that are there, I think they open on nice days, were closed. The portable potties are not great but they're there to use!

I wandered through historic buildings, saw the campfire & met ranchers in costume with old-time tales. Homemade cookies, coffee & tea were served here. So we ended up making the best of the bridge and had some fun since it was pretty deserted at 03:00. There's no overnight parking allowed on the streets but we chanced it and gambled on no enforcement and we lucked out. Like Rotary Park, you can get some good views of the Calgary skyline from the base of the bridge with a different viewpoint; especially the SW side where it doesn't look like much from the Rotary Park Lookout Point. This walk is where we found Calgary's finest restaurants, pubs, bars & cafes. This pedestrian mall offers us walking access to downtown Calgary's main attractions, including Banker's Hall, the CORE Shopping Centre, the Telus Convention Centre, the Glenbow Museum, Arts Commons & Olympic Plaza. There are several Canadian curio stores here. During the Stampede the Avenue is filled with outdoor patios, magnificent hanging flower baskets, live music, performers, festivals, food trucks & vendors. We enjoyed our pancake breakfast here and also watching the Clydesdales fill the Avenue.
