However, this last order really showed the difference between Gorgeous and Green and what you might get elsewhere. I had ordered flowers for my partner's birthday. Unfortunately, Pilar made a mistake and delivered the flowers several days early. Any person or business will eventually make a mistake, its much more telling how they handle these situations than whether or not they happen at all. Pilar immediately said "no problem, take these now and I will still deliver another arrangement on the correct date, no extra charge". No only did Pilar follow through on her commitment but the second arrangement was also unique and beautiful! I'm super appreciative of her dedication, craft, and thoughtful service. So overdue in writing this review, but was just looking at photos of my wedding flowers and felt compelled to pen a glowing review of Gorgeous & Green. My husband and I were married a few years ago, and I'll always have fond memories of our incredible floral arrangements. I contacted many florists before deciding on Gorgeous & Green, and am so glad I waited until I found 'the one.' Our flowers were one of the most memorable parts of our wedding, and seeing Pilar's creations come to life after telling her what I was looking for in an abstract way was very rewarding. All I had to do was send some sample photos (I wanted a kind of wild, messy, unkempt bouquet), some color suggestions (bright) and possible flower choices (I'm obsessed with ranunculi and poppies), and she took care of the the rest, and everything from my bouquet, the bridesmaid's bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, etc, were more gorgeous than I anticipated. I actually cried when I saw my bridal bouquet the day of my wedding. Well all I can say is that the wish & vision I had for my daughter's wedding flowers was exceeded and then some! She had a fall wedding and the bouquets and flower arrangements were absolutely STUNNING - colors of gold, plum, marroon, watermelon. Her bouquet was enormous! To be honest, when we started our wedding planning process, we had no idea how important the florals would be, and we were surprised at how high the quote was. Seeing the florals at the wedding, we wouldn't change a thing about going with Gorgeous and Green and choosing to spend more on florals! Our wedding was tropical-themed, and the florals were the MVP in pulling it all together. Every table had the most glorious arrangement of flowers and fresh cut tropical fruit! Pilar and her team had even cut perfectly sized palm fronds and arranged them underneath each plate setting. The cut fruit (papaya, limes, watermelon, grapefruit, etc.) was such a hit! It made the place smell so good. I heard a couple of guests started eating the fresh fruit during the wedding, because they couldn't resist it after a while . The guests were delighted to take home the fruit as unplanned party favors (A friend sent me a picture of them toasting coconut pieces and grilling sliced pineapple skewered with onions and peppers). My mother-in-law took home a pineapple, and I had some pieces a couple of days after, and it was so ripe and yummy. It really felt like my wedding experience (and my guests!) kept carrying on after the wedding because of the fruit. I've written about the fruit because that was such an unexpected and amazing component of our florals, but our other florals were also great! My bouquet had like 15 different flowers in it that combined so beautifully. I loved looking down and finding something different to focus on. The ceremony florals managed to survive 20mph winds (classic SF summer weather) and looked beautiful during the ceremony. Pilar and her team really helped us make the wedding feel so tropical despite the foggy weather, and I feel so lucky we had Gorgeous & Green for our florals. read more

I hired Gorgeous and Green for my wedding in May 2018. It was a pleasure to work with Pilar. I had a tight budget that came in right at her minimum for a full service wedding. Pilar did an amazing job keeping to my budget and creating a beautiful chuppah, bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. I found Gorgeous and Green through yelp when I was looking for a local florist. Pilar's commitment to sustainability (and organic blooms when possible) was also a reason I decided to go with Gorgeous and Green. When I met with Pilar many months before the wedding, I had a vague idea of what I liked (lots of greenery and lavender) but no solid "musts." She sent me a few sketches and pictures of previous work to paint a picture of what she could create. Those sketches along with her Instagram gave me really accurate idea of what my wedding day would look like. The day of the wedding went perfectly. Everyone had their flowers, the tables looked great, and the chuppah was gorgeous. The only thing that I wasn't 100% on was at the end of the night when I was collecting vases to return to Pilar, I realized she had not left any boxes so I had to build some from leftover cardboard at my venue. Pilar did the most wonderful job with my wedding flowers! I ordered off the a la carte menu as I had a fairly small wedding and only needed the personals (bouquets, boutonnières, hair crown and corsages) and luckily the venue was close enough to have them delivered the day of. The delivery was right on time and my entire bridal party was floored with how beautiful they were, plus she even threw in some extra flowers for our cake set-up! We received so many compliments all night and they continued to look beautiful days after the event! A few months ago, when my in-laws were visiting, I stopped in here for 2 recycled glass water pitchers to leave in the guest room along with cute little glasses to match. We liked them so much, now we have them in our master bedroom for my husband and me. Very useful! It was hard finding a florist since I live in New York and planning my wedding from afar. I saw Pilar's work on instagram and knew she was it. I gave her the color scheme, no specific flowers, some direction, and let her do her thing. Man, she was amazing! I wanted to cry when she showed up with the bouquet! It was SO beautiful, more beautiful than anything I could have imagined. She made the bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, trio bud vases for the centerpieces, sweetheart table centerpiece, small flower arrangements for the aisle chairs during the ceremony, and 2 large flower arrangements for the ceremony. Short version: Beautiful wedding flowers and top notch customer service. Longer, more meandering version: I did some last minute coordination for a friend's wedding, and it was a bit chaotic. Family and friends all staying in a resort on the coast with no cell phone reception, and a resort staff that was less then helpful. Pilar was a superstar that day, from the moment she delivered the flowers. She showed up on time with exceptional arrangements, and unloaded them herself. She asked where things were going to go, and then put them there. It seems like a small thing, but in the moment, it felt big. Some florists just leave you all the arrangements in one spot, but Pilar stayed to help us figure it all out. Pilar also organized the corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets, and labeled them. That was great, except that I didn't know where any of the groomsmen and family members were. Pilar waited patiently for me to track them down, and then pinned boutonnieres and dispersed the goods. She was patient with everyone and went out of her way to be helpful -- far beyond what we might have expected. I know the bride had an excellent experience choosing flowers and working with Pilar beforehand, but I think it's also telling that she wasn't in a hurry on the wedding day. she made it a point to stay as long as it took to make sure everything was handled perfectly. My wedding anniversary was a few days ago so I decided to check this place out to buy flowers for my wife. At first, it didn't look like there was much that can be done based on the (what I thought) little flowers here and there. I asked the nice woman working there (owner?) if she can make me an arrangement for my wedding. She must be a magician because it seemed like she turned mud to diamonds! She put together a BEAUTIFUL arrangement (see pics I posted) which was reasonably priced. To make a long story short, my wife absolutely LOVED it! This is my favorite flower shop. The store is super cute. They care about environment and uses papers for wrapping flowers yet they are the prettiest both flowers and wrappers. I bought flowers from this shop many times. Every time I take to my friends they seem to really like it. I think they used to have more flowers but now they carry many interesting items for home which I also like. Maybe they just put more flowers to the back. There are more flowers in the back. We hired Pilar to do the flower, decorations and event coordinating for our wedding last August. I interviewed with a couple of florist and felt that Pilar was the most on my level. In planning our wedding, my husband and I wanted to create the least amount of waste and to go as 'green' as we could. Pilar was able to do this. She did an amazing job and I highly recommend her. She is easy going, willing to listen to you, offers creative suggestions, and does great work. All of the flowers and decorations that she choose were local, in-season, vibrant and gorgeous. We asked her to create bouquets, boutonniere, corsages and head wreaths for the flower girls. The center pieces were in-season fruits/vegetables rather than flowers and Pilar did a fine job choosing interesting and yummy produces. And the main decor, that really set a fun mood for our outdoor wedding, were the colorful paper lanterns she hung around the perimeter of the reception area. Finally, in addition to flowers and decor, we asked Pilar to be the event coordinator the day of the wedding. She arrived early to the wedding site and made sure that all of the people arrived on time and that things were being set up how i wanted them. She also coordinated the rehersal and the ceremony as well. Overall my husband and I were extremely happy with the work that Pilar put into our wedding. I have ordered same day flowers from G&G on three occasions. The blooms arrive beautiful and are always a hit with the recipient. Today I had an even more magical experience - at about 11:30am my team member/work wife found out her grandpa had passed away. We sent her home but wanted to send her something to show we were thinking about her. I used G&G's same day floral option online, but typically you have to order before 11am for the same day service - I placed my order at 12pm. I included a message of sympathy for our friend and when Pillar, the owner, saw this she emailed me back quickly and let me know that she would try to turn this around and get it out today. At 1:45pm I got the notification that the bouquet was out for delivery. This was such an amazingly thoughtful thing for Pillar to do that she absolutely did not have to. I ordered flowers twice from G&G. I live in NY and I needed flowers in Oakland. Ordering flowers remotely is challenging, but G&G came through big time both delivering to a hospital and a residence. As well, I wanted to support a local biz as well as get flowers that were more unique than the standard generic bouquets that florists usually use for their online biz. Both times they were amazingly beautiful and unique. They are artistic and the palettes are natural and allow the colors of the plants to come through. Pilar uses local and non-sprayed (organic) flowers where possible and delivers via bike which is a huge plus for me. The flowers are long lasting as well. I hired Pilar from Gorgeous and Green Events to provide flowers for my wedding that was held last month. Before searching for a florist, I had decided that having organic and/or sustainable flowers were of upmost importance to me. If you just do some research on the pesticides used on flowers, and the carbon imprint of attaining flowers that are out of season, you will see why this was so important to me. After some online searching, I came across Gorgeous and Green Events, and had a phone meeting with Pilar. I really liked her approach to designing and using local, sustainable flowers. Throughout the wedding planning process, Pilar was fabulous. I really didn't have much of an idea of what look I was going for in the bouquets or reception design, but after a few meetings and lots of sketches, we decided on the design and color scheme. I must say she has a great eye for color, and the reception was absolutely beautiful. The bouquets and arrangements were gorgeous, and the lighting she created really set the mood of the cocktail hour and reception. We actually had people outside the church stopping my bridesmaids to take pictures of the bouquets! I'll post some pics myself soon. I just can't say enough good things about her work! The pictures will show it. Oh, and as far as price goes, she was extremely fair. She was more than willing to work within my budget, and always had suggestions to cut costs if necessary.
