I know you are supposed to trim your hair every 6-8 weeks to prevent split ends, but I usually go 6-8 months (or more) between cuts. My hair was in desperate need of some TLC! Like many others, I found this location through Groupon and purchased a coupon for a cut, style, and blow dry. Before my hair was washed, we chatted for a bit about what needed to be done and agreed that I needed about an inch and a half off the back and my layers evened out. After that, I received the most thorough hair washing of my life before I returned to the chair. We chatted for a bit about our Thanksgiving plans as my hair was snipped and styled. I loooved the curls and felt very fancy as I looked in the mirror at my tamed locks. (These softened into beautiful waves throughout the morning.) My hair looks and feels great after the trim. Had a Groupon to this salon located in Kaneohe. I originally wanted to schedule a few months ago, but got a response saying that Georgina was going to be out of town. I text for another appointment recently and was able to schedule an appointment today. She was very easy to work with. Georgie was so personable and pleasant! She washed my hair and it felt great, she has a gentle touch. I have a soft head so it was pleasant to have my hair cut by her. She cut my hair as I requested with layers and didn't cut it any shorter than I wanted which is a big plus! I would definitely recommend. read more

I'm sad to give this review, but I don't want anyone else to experience what I did. If you purchased a Groupon in order to get balayage/ balayage ombre, do not come here. My Groupon was for balayage ombre, toner, cut and style (normally worth $300). I showed her a photo of the balayage, ombre hair I wanted, and she did a lot of explaining about the photo that sounded like she couldn't do it, even though she said it was balayage and ombre. Since those were the things I paid for, I asked if it's possible for her to do this. She gave a vague answer, with more explaining of what we were looking at. I said that I just want balayage highlights higher up than normal. She said she can do that and will add more higher around the face. I said sounds great. She used foil when "painting" on the highlights, and apparently that isn't what balayage is. After the wash, I had to keep myself from crying when I saw an ORANGE skunk strip at the front of my head, like some wanna-be X-Man Rouge character. When I saw this, it was only at a glance, because she kept me turned away from the mirror the entire time as she blow-dried and started styling my hair. As she started curling, I asked if she can hold on so I can just take a look. I politely let her know I didn't like the orange, and the one chunk of color. She told me that that's how it is, didn't offer to fix it, and said I have to make another appointment in order for it to look more like what I wanted. That it takes multiple sessions to achieve a certain level of lightness. The reason I didn't buy that is because my hair is very fine, and I've never had to have multiple sessions to lighten my hair, and I've had both highlights AND balayage in the past. She also didn't curl it well either... large waves at the bottom and tight, crimpy curls at the top. I'm now left with orange, chunky lines at the top of my head, and the ends of my hair are silver and completely fried to a crisp. That same night I did what I should have done in the first place and went to a reputable salon and got a consultation for a color fix. (I was taking hard notice that all the patrons who were able to look at their hair the entire time it was getting done.) The stylist showed me what I was too afraid to look at earlier, which was the entire back of my hair. My hair is so bad, ya'll, there are inconsistent spots all over of my old color, with new orange, and silver. It's so damaged that my ends were breaking off, which has never happened to me in my life. I have an appointment to get it corrected in 10 days and it can't come soon enough. I know this is already long enough, but the experience doesn't stop there. There was music with foul language playing, she went outside to smoke and it smelled, and her two year old was there who was running a muck screaming, crying, throwing things, and getting into my purse. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt the entire time but it was stressful. I'm currently waiting on my call back from Groupon to hopefully get a refund. read more

I missed my first appointment due to a schedule issue on my part, and she was so nice and let me reschedule. I did highlights, low-light, trimmed my ends, blow dry and style and was there for about 3 hours. I had a Groupon, but paid $86 extra for low-lights and my long hair length. I am sad to give this review. Gina is such a nice girl, but I am horrified with the results of my hair. I found her through a Groupon for balayage services. I went to my first session and it looked nothing like the picture I showed. She explained that since my hair is so dark & coarse that it would take multiple sessions to get there. I took her word and purchased another Groupon for a second session. I've now completed my second session and I'm horrified. It still looks nothing like the picture. Not only is it a completely different color from what I wanted, but my head is different colors all around. I have a huge thick orange streak in the front, some blonde strands, & even a green strand that was never colored correctly. It's also uneven throughout my entire head & I am embarrassed to walk around like this in public. After I got home, I couldn't stand what I saw in the mirror. I called another salon nearby that was highly rated and asked if it was possible to save my hair. I went in right after to get a consultation and they did not hold back on their horrified comments. I'm scheduled to get it corrected later this week and I absolutely cannot wait!! I also showed them the picture of what I wanted and they said that could easily be done in one session... I was so excited to get my hair done here. My hair dresser was so nice to talk too. She gave me an amazing head massage and even offered me a a complementary drink. Once upon a time, I used to let overwork stylists bully me into doing what they wanted with my hair. It always turned out... Okay... I guess... But I was never happy with it. Then, one day, one of those overworked stylists refused to cut my hair even close to what I had asked for. And I had had enough. I walked into a Paul Mitchell salon full of fury, and lost it on the innocent receptionist. It was obvious she'd dealt with my brand of crazy before. She nodded, and asked me to return that evening. The time she had blocked off for me was just a few minutes before closing. There was a reason for that. Anger like mine could chase other customers out, for starters. But, that was the day that I was blessed with meeting the stylist that I came to adore, Gina, sat me down, heard me out, listened to my declaration of doneness with rude stylists, and, very calmly, said, "Girl, I hear you, and I've seen it for years. I will give you advice, because your hair will be my rep, but boo, at the end of the day, it's your hair. You gotta wear that. You deserve to love it." She sent me out with the cut I'd wanted, and feeling fantastic. In almost three years, I never left that chair lacking confidence. I knew that she wouldn't send me out looking bad, even if that meant coming to a happy medium between what I wanted, and what she thought was better.
