Guest bedroom got flooded due to toilet leak. Unfortunately, adjacent walls & rooms were affected as well, and thus needed renovation. Gorilla Corp, Mike, was with us all throughout the process. He was easy to communicate with and patient enough to explain to us what needed to be done. Mike also dealt with our insurance (Farmers). He handled the negotiations with the adjuster without us needing to get involved, and did his best to maximize the insurance payment. Workers were a tad late but job was done. So much to say but for the sake of not writing volumes about this horrible experience I prefer to list the comedy of errors. I will confess that I broke my own rule and neglected to consult YELP prior to hiring this company. Huge mistake!!! Flooded kitchen in June of 2023 with major water damage to cabinets, floor and drywall. All needed replacing. Specific instructions and preferences were given to the contractor prior to any work. The construction nightmare list in no particular order: -Pantry shelves were 3 inches too short and did not reach the back wall of the pantry, so pantry was unusable. -Wrong color cabinets were delivered after waiting 2 months for delivery. -Contractor trash left in the yard for 2 weeks -Construction crew would only work 1 or 2 days per week, sometime with 1 - 2 weeks in between work -Installation of wrong cabinet hardware after sending pictures of what we wanted. (We ended up going to Lowes and purchasing the right ones) -Countertop installer made mess in the driveway and street with neighbors complaining. -No holes were drilled in the countertop so the faucet and dishwasher could not be used. -The few times that we did see the contractor, it was to collect money. -Construction crew usually ran 2 - 5 hours late when they actually did any work. Many times, they just plain didn't show up. -Still no pantry installed 8 months after initial insurance claim. -Vent above the microwave not installed and sealed correctly so the microwave and stove could not be used. -Dried paint in my bathroom sink from workmen washing paint bushes there instead of outside or in a bucket. -Installed wrong size cabinet so the sink did not fit -Unable to speak with some of the workmen due to language barrier -Poor kitchen design: need stepstool to reach dishes, unusable space, smaller drawers and cabinets then what we had originally. -Poor paint job: missed spots. -Removed and drywalled over the home landline outlet. -Contractor had to be constantly reminded of preferences and conversations. -Crack in the pantry door after finally installing it. -Several cabinets do not hang straight. There were so many more frustrations. Too many to write about here. EACH construction ERROR added on WEEKS to the completion of the kitchen. Construction was finally completed in March 2024. Even though this was an insurance claim, it WAS NOT worth the chaos and headaches. read more

Lots to says will make it short. Bathroom had a leak. Had to remodeled. Over 20k billed to insurance. Same vanity was used, same cabinets. On multiple occasion I had to follow up with workers about fixing things correctly. For weeks broken tile and broken toilet and trash was left on the side of my house. I was told it would be picked up right away, but yet tools weeks and me having to continuously follow up. Please done the work that was done and got the corners were cut to save money which is sad because the dream was sold to me. I would have a brand new bathroom I mean for $20,000 I expect to. I have now used Mike twice for my insurance claim repairs both of which were after water damage. Once due to a broken kitchen sink pipe which caused water damage to my kitchen and its cabinets and most recently due to a soft stoppage main drainage backup that caused damage to my first-floor flooring and drywall. In both cases, Mike got the water damage mitigated in record time and then worked with the insurance claim adjuster to obtain the highest claims payout when the insurance company tried to lowball their estimate. He and his team of professionals completed all the necessary repairs to our home to my complete satisfaction. Due to a busted pipe in our kitchen, that caused extensive water damage, my wife and I were in need of an experienced contractor that could handle a large detailed job, such as ours. After speaking with Mike, we knew we had our guy. Mike listened to all of our concerns and expectations of what we wanted the demolish and rebuild to look like. A short time later, Mike presented us with a virtual reality video that proved to us that he was listening and knew exactly what we wanted. I had a major water leak in my bathroom and I felt completely lost & overwhelmed. I called multiple companies to get a quote for the repairs, but they all wanted way more than what the insurance company had to offer, and they wouldn't help me deal with insurance company. The company that did the initial demolition recommended Mike Sheldon from Gorilla Corp. As soon as I met him Mike, I knew he was the one. I explained my situation to him and gave my insurance company permission to deal with him directly. He completely took over from there. He provided them with a SOW that explained the full extent of the damage; coordinated with the insurance adjuster to come back out to the house, and was able to negotiate a price with the insurance company to completely cover all the repairs. Once we got approval to move forward, Mike and his team were out the next day. I don't know what I would have done without him. He did a fabulous job!! Worst experience of my life. If I could give him 0 stars I would. Mike would not follow our contract. He continuously attempted to overcharge us. I have never ever in my life have had to stay on my toes with charges as he would try to upcharge everything. I made the mistake of pre paying for material that was never delivered. His workers would show up for maybe an hour or two and then disappear. What should have taken at most 2 months ended up taking almost 5 months. Mike was very aggressive I would end of dreading his calls as he was always in a horrible mood. We ended up hiring a different company to fix all of the mistakes that were made. I wish I could give this business 0 stars! Gorilla Corp by Michael (Mike) Shelton and his crew was done awful. This work was done a bit during/post covid. We had a whole kitchen remodel and they did a CRAPPY job. They painted our walls and didn't bother to cover our windows so there have been paint splatter on them. They didn't finish our base boards and one comes off cuz it was never nailed in. Then we had a spot between the counter and under the sink that should have been closed off but never was so we can't even use that cabinet. It smells like earth when you open it. We've had to tape that cabinet shut because if our cat would get in there, it was super hard to get her out. One of the outlets in our center island never worked. The laminate floor panels were not properly secured, so now we have gaps separating between the panels. I've reached out on several occasions but haven't heard back. The one time he called me, I was at work and asked if he could call me back the next day at a specific time and he said ok. He never called. I called and left a voicemail and never heard back. I definitely do not recommend using this business! Biggest regret was not doing more research on contractors and just settling. Live and learn I guess! I will add pictures soon! read more

I wish I could give Gorilla Corp, Mike and his whole company a zero!!! The service I received was absolutely horrible and took over 8 months to finish. A job that would have taken another company two weeks to finish. Mike left my whole family without a kitchen for that long and never answered our questions and when he did he, talked very aggressively as if he were mad or tried to intimidate us to where we couldn't get a word in. This was extremely disrespectful as I am an older woman and I felt so taken advantage and felt like I couldn't trust them or anyone. Just because I don't have men in the house doesn't mean I don't know anything or that I'm stupid and that's exactly how I felt dealing with Mike !!! I was told to choose and order a counter top and when I did they tried to put in a whole different color and material counter and tried to talk me into how this one looks nice too which was so stressful. I cannot express how much stress this company had given me. They did this job so half ass and did not care at all about me and my family. Our shower was leaking in the wall. It caused damage to the drywall and laminate flooring. Mike and his team did a wonderful job removing the damaged dry wall and making sure what was left behind was dried out. Our floor and baseboards look amazing now. He made sure we got the exact flooring we wanted. He contacted my insurance and dealt with them so I didn't have to. Mike had terrible service he left all the trash in my yard he took all my extra tile and all he kept saying did the bank send any money did the bank send a check that they haven't sent anything yet can you please finish my house I'm working on a job in Orange County I was put out of my house from November to March waiting on him and when he finally got the work done he left all the leftover and the trash in my yard I had to remove that myself he . I had to call a cleaning service to clean my house. And he never cleaned and seal my tile. I ask tge guy he paid to lay it.he was terrible with his service and I wouldn't recommend him doing any work for anyone I am so out done with him I can't believe when I first met him he seemed to be so professional and forth going but he was just a fake don't use gorilla Corp. We had a water leak in our bathroom and filed an insurance claim for it. It was our first time dealing with something like this so we really didn't know too much. We were referred to Mike by our neighbor. Mike saved us. We went through a lot of with our insurance company and they gave us an estimate that wouldn't even cover the repair of our bathroom. Mike took over and dealt with them directly and was able to get more money for us to thoroughly cover all the costs of the repair. Since the whole insurance ordeal took more than two months, we were in a hurry to fix our bathroom as quickly as possible. Mike and his team completed the full repair in one week. This is something very difficult to find among contractors, as they always take so much longer than they promise. But Mike said he'll finish in a week and he delivered. He went with us to Home Depot and helped us pick all the tiles and materials we will need. He even asked his team to work on the weekend to ensure timely completion.
