The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. What really stood out was the follow-up. Both Bob and Ron checked in independently after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied. They also made it clear that if any issues came up, they would come back and make it right. The pricing was fair, the workmanship was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding from start to finish. It's refreshing to work with a company that still takes pride in doing quality work and standing behind it. I plan to use Monk's again next year for additional interior painting projects and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Diagnosing the issue took some time since the problems weren't straightforward, but rather than rushing or guessing, he worked through it methodically until he had a clear picture of what needed fixing. Once he had that, he fixed both windows correctly and made sure they opened and closed smoothly before moving on. We had a budget, and he helped us keep to it, but he really went above and beyond that. Other vendors told us there was no way to keep the 130 year window moldings, but Turab not only helped us keep them, but had so many neat tricks to improve our restoration project. Other vendors just gave us offers against our project scope, but Turab explained to us the dynamics of different windows in different parts of the house and what types worked best and saved us money. He made custom moldings for our cellar windows. He also helped us out to stop a fly tipping incident one day when we were out and not able to deal with it ourselves. And when it was pouring with rain and our basement flooded, he went outside and took a really long and hard look and told us what the problem was. We got it fixed the same weekend and never had issues since.

Each crew finished their task within the projected timeframe. Home Genius coordinated everything, including ordering and delivering the materials and arranging for the delivery and removal of the dumpster. Thanks to our Project Coordinator Ivan, every step in the process went smoothly. He arranged for workers to be at our home on consecutive days: we did not have any time in between steps waiting for availability of the next team. Ivan kept us informed of progress at every step of the way. It's too bad Home Genius does not do paving because we would gladly engage them for this and any other home projects we need to undertake! A very polite and friendly man came to my door on Sunday afternoon. The fact that this company thinks it is ok to bother me on a weekend, on fathers day specifically. I have to tell them no when no is never accepted. So I have to be assertive with a stranger during an unexpected visit on my day off or get peer pressured into a sales pitch.
