One day, I stumbled upon The Farm Stand, and it felt like discovering a hidden treasure. It is, without question, one of the best farm stand experiences I've ever had, and I've been to a lot of them. Jim could probably sell anything, but that's because he's genuinely passionate about what he does. He curates only the very best, though truthfully, the produce and goods largely sell themselves. What sets this place apart is the care behind it. The attention, the pride, the hospitality - all the things that feel like they're are waning from our country. We've become so accustomed to transactional experiences and mediocre service that they've almost become the norm. Then you encounter a place like this and realize what you've been missing. It's like waking up from a fever dream and wondering, "Why isn't everything this good?" I now drive from Sebastopol to visit The Farm Stand regularly. Not just for the incredible food, but for the experience itself. It's a reminder that places built with intention, passion, and genuine human connection still exist. And ingredients you can buy for cooking later. Local vendors have stalls in the back parking lot and surround the ferry building that house more permanent shops. These inside shops were curated by the likes of Alice Waters (chez panisse chef in Berkeley) and are nothing short of beautiful. Be warned there are inflated prices for most things. But you can still find a deal when looking for produce with the farmers.

The layers are soft and delicious while not being too sweet. * Pain epi from Acme - the perfect vessel for cheeses and spreads. Light, crispy, and easy to pair with anything whether sweet or savory. Now that I'm cooking more from…read morehome, I want to make sure I purchase the best produce and ingredients + support local vendors. The Corte Madera Farmers Market is much smaller and more intimate than the Sunday Farmers Market at the Marin Civic Center. This isn't by any means a bad thing. Bigger isn't always better (or so I've been telling girlfriends for years). Here's the way I look at it - instead of a full kitchen, you're getting a kitchenette. Instead of a full length feature, you're getting a really good short film. It's like the Mini Me of Farmer's Markets. And you know what - that's a-ok by me. Smaller crowds. Prettier environment. Plus, when I'm done shopping, I can poke my head into others stores at the Town Center (Safeway, CVS, Crate and Barrel, etc.). You'll find many of your go-to produce and meat/poultry vendors here. Plus, they have my favorite Indian/Nepalese food vendor here (gotta get me some momos, samosas and dipping sauce). And unlike many of its counterparts, this Farmers Market is open from noon to 5pm (which is much better for my schedule). It's definitely worth checking out. Happy shopping, my peeps! : )

In the tent, there were two kinds: one in a plastic bag and one without. I chose 6 pcs. But the lady in the tent said $5 for only 5 pieces. I asked why the price is different?. She explained: the plastic bags are already set - 5 big pcs $5, 6 medium pcs $5, or 7 small pcs $5. I'm the Owner she said. Then she told the kiosk lady very rudely, "You can't give 6 pieces if the customer chooses." Please be careful if you go.
