And of course, you'll find a plethora of seasonal fruits from Northern California farmers/vendors. Best of all, there's lot of stuff to sample while you browse. And who doesn't love to nosh while they shop? Word to the wise: show up early on Friday morning (no later than 11am). Otherwise, you might miss out on the best stuff.

We were so lucky our Sunday return brought us by this hidden gem before it closed at 5 pm. Not only did it have the delicious pickles it had advertised on a large cardboard sign, but a variety of fruits, vegetables, and kimchi. Beyond the pickles the kimchi was the most enticing to us at the time as we had never tried persimmon kimchi before. The flavor of the kimchi and the persimmon paired well together an combined for the perfect amount of spice and sweet. While we loved the flavor so much that we ate most as a snack, we plan to us the rest as a delicious dinner side dish. The farmer was incredibly friendly and allowed us to try a couple samples to find the right dish for our own personal taste palate. He also informed us that they participate in a farmers market in SF on Sunday mornings. A location I'm sure my husband and I will visit in the near future.

I was told that Saturday has a lot more vendors. There were just a few stands outside the building, A highlight was the Chafolio tea company who offered free tastings. After sampling teas even more than once, I go the Lychee Black Tea - it was the freshest tea I have ever tasted and it has a nice, light fruit flavor. I also scored a huge almond croissant from a vendor. The Ferry Building is beautiful and worth a stop and has bars, restaurants, and an art exhibit upstairs. Just don't come on a weekday and expect fresh fruit.

The Corte Madera Farmers Market is much smaller and more intimate than the Sunday Farmers Market at the Marin Civic Center. This isn't by any means a bad thing. Bigger isn't always better (or so I've been telling girlfriends for years). Here's the way I look at it - instead of a full kitchen, you're getting a kitchenette. Instead of a full length feature, you're getting a really good short film. It's like the Mini Me of Farmer's Markets. And you know what - that's a-ok by me. Smaller crowds. Prettier environment. Plus, when I'm done shopping, I can poke my head into others stores at the Town Center (Safeway, CVS, Crate and Barrel, etc.). You'll find many of your go-to produce and meat/poultry vendors here. Plus, they have my favorite Indian/Nepalese food vendor here (gotta get me some momos, samosas and dipping sauce). And unlike many of its counterparts, this Farmers Market is open from noon to 5pm (which is much better for my schedule). It's definitely worth checking out. Happy shopping, my peeps! : )

It's located in the back across from the covered parking structure. Even though it was cold & foggy, there was a lot of foot traffic. We leisurely walked through the entire Saturday market in less than an hour. Thinking about all the farmers' markets I've been to, I'd say this is more affordable but has less variety. I saw a lot of aunties and uncles doing their grocery shopping. Our haul included fresh peanuts (which were huge!), purple long beans, and heirloom grape tomatoes (red & yellow). Side notes: 1.) Free parking inside Serramonte *Verdict: Worth a stop if you're in Serramonte on a Thursday or Saturday.

But my husband's co-worker mentioned to him that there is Kalamansi at the Serramonte Farmers Market, so I went. The Rivera stall has a lot of Filipino vegetables so if you need them, come by and make sure you go to their stall. They say that their kalamansi si year round, so for sure I am coming back. I've been meaning to explore this farmer's market. The first time we were driving by and decided to…read morestop. It has a good variety of vendors for produce, meat, cheese, mushrooms, breads, body products, jewelry and more. There are a variety food vendors where you can get your fill of dim sum, burgers, Laos sausages, and a wonderful coffee vendor. I think you want to get there earlier than noon. The first time we went, it was about 1pm. We strolled up and down the aisle. By 1:30 there seemed to be little produce and a couple of vendors were starting to pick up. The second time we went a bit earlier. It is about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient. We walked around and saw the same vendors so I feel confident they will be there regularly. Great location with views of the marina and bay from the parking lot. There is a no pet sign but it was posted only at one entrance - and not the one we went through. It was warm and I couldn't leave her in the car. Because she was self-contained in her personal buggy, I didn't think it would be an issue. Still, probably best to leave your furbabies at home. The only negative I have is one vendor blasting music from their booth. I enjoy listening to music but it's so loud that I can't have a conversation with the vendor without yelling, so I move on. Quickly. When you get to the water end of the market, you are blessed with sounds of the bay and birds. Now, that's nice. The second time we rode our bikes from home. It's about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient and it was a beautiful morning. As we rolled up, we were greeted by loud music. Again. Sigh. There are a few tables set up at one end with coloring books and games, entertainment for both grownups and kids alike. You can also grab a bite to eat or something to drink, sit down and enjoy the vibes. Pleasant way to enjoy a sunny day by the bay in Richmond.

What is so great about The Richmond Farmers Market in Marina Bay is the space that is being used. The vendors at this market are very kind. You say hi to them and they start a conversation with you. It is a friendly Farmers Market to come to. I love seeing the people that attend the Farmers Markets. I have not seen anybody trying to bring their pets to the market which is not allowed. I do love how people come here on a Sunday Morning checking out the vendors. When I attended this market I only saw one vendor that had fruits/vegetables. Every other vendor were take out food or clothes. I am not disappointed that the market didn't have much produce vendor but it is still a market nobody if you call it a Farmers Market. Keep up the great work serving Richmond.
