Don't be fooled by its size and location... this tiny farmers market is full of delicious surprises! I come here for $10 orchids (courtesy of Rodriguez Farms), and the yummy Indian/Himalayan street treats (8 chicken momos for $6; 3 samosas for $4; and plenty of mouthwatering dipping sauces). And of course, you'll find a plethora of seasonal fruits from Northern California farmers/vendors. Best of all, there's lot of stuff to sample while you browse. And who doesn't love to nosh while they shop? Word to the wise: show up early on Friday morning (no later than 11am). Otherwise, you might miss out on the best stuff. read more

I've passed mill's market many times but going in the wrong direction (towards the freeway). making a left in front of all those roaring incoming cars never seem like a good idea. the market is to the side of cvs pharmacy. i turned in here one rainy afternoon 1ish recently. though slated to close at 2:30, every vendor was almost packed up to leave. fair weather vendors or fair weather shoppers? did see tru dim sum, beckham's bread, the empandda people, the indian guy. bolani too. all the veggies and flowers were totally packed away already. will try again some fair day provided i can get in here safely. read more

This rating is for the el porteno empanadas!!! Love at first bite! I lived in Panama, and ever since have been on a quest to find the most perfect presentation of them, and here they are!! OMG! Even I can't make them this delicious! My dealer is name Marcel. A lovely, humble man with the most amazing smile. These are Argentinean, but are so very close to the ones from Panama, I will never complain. I get to be transported back to going down the stone streets, basket in hand in the early morning warmth to get the freshly made empanadas from the bakery every morning. The smells, the sounds of the city, the different culture and people all come back to me as I sit at home with a warmly heated Jamon y Queso and reminisce of a slower, sweeter life I graciously appeciated. There is no store, no restaurant. They sell at farmers markets. I'm also not fond of a vendor yelling for you to come sample. I think quiet elegance, aka patience, wins that over any day. I shun away from her. The Dim Sum stand does a brisque business as well. We were so happy to stumble on this Farmers Market towards the end of a 22-mile bike ride. It was the tail end of the Farmers Market so everyone was packing up and many vendors had already closed shop. There were a few stands left and we were able to get some fresh fruit, which was just what we needed at that time! read more

Late Friday morning. SIL hoping to get some fancy mushrooms from her favorite mushroom grower before they're sold out. SCORE! We got some oyster, shitake and criminis, each in their own respective brown paper bag. This is a smallish- all organic market, and just perfect for us 3 ladies to enjoy a little time together outside, in the bright sunshine. Market is held each Friday in this large parking lot, and parking was no problem for us. There was a gentleman selling all sorts or potted orchids. His prices seemed very cheap and the quality of the plants was apparent. My Mom really enjoyed talking with him about general orchid care. I sampled any and every item that was in my way or that was available to taste. Wild mountain blueberries, fresh strawberries, slices of white and yellow peaches, nectarines, plums, bolani (with myriad toppings), "scream sorbet", yogurt (that is sold in quart-sized glass canning jars or cute pottery single serving jars - I sampled the Meyer lemon flavor and really liked it. What really made an impression was the bolani (and the various toppings) and the blackberry and chocolate "scream sorbets". That sorbet was unlike any I'd ever tried and I urged my companions to come and sample it themselves. We ended up buying a 6 (small) scoop take home sampler for $10. Ouch! on the price, but sooo well worth it when we shared in with friends the following night. I think the chocolate is far beyond any chocolate "ice cream" that's ever passed thru my lips. I want to scream for more! But first, I'm going to see about a website - maybe I can order some to be shipped to me once I get home... We brought home a pair of almond macaroons ($2 each) to share (heavenly) and a corn and roasted red pepper empanada ($3) (Argentinian) and I promptly warmed it up in the toaster oven. After dividing it into 3 portions, and biting into mine, I wished we'd bought a sack full of these things in a variety of fillings. It was just wonderful. Delicate, flaky pastry filled with a slightly sweet corn-n-stuff filling. Next time I'm here, I'm going to have a dim sun lunch - I hear it's fantastic! And then, I'll buy a sackfull of empanadas to bring back to brother's place to heat up in the toaster oven. read more

I got my eyes on a few things they had but unfortunately I was on a road trip and wasn't able to have any fresh pasta or veggie with me. So I bought a blueberry + raspberry pie for dessert. It was $4.5 for a big slice of pie and it was great. It was not too sweet and the berries were so so fresh. I just loved it! read more

I've been going all over the county to farmers markets for years, and this one has become tied for favorite with the Corte Mardera one. While there is only one row, the artesan foods are just what you want. Fabulous smoked salmon, chocolate macademia candy, gelato, bakers, dim sum...and the other side is all fruits and veggies...a very adequate selection. I like the hours too...From something like 10-2 on Fridays. It doesn't have to be a big production to go, either. You can be in and out in 20 minutes or less...or stay and sit on the curb and have lunch alone or with a friend. I hope they don't stop for the winter. read more

It's a good farmers market but small. It will even be better when the construction is complete from the Whole Foods Market that's being built. The purveyors that are present make up a unique representation of good from organic muffins to olives to lavender wreaths. I liked the variety and will return next week. read more
