Initially I only wanted the sun screen on my large bedroom window. He examined other windows and quoted me a price for 2 more large windows and 2 small. I asked, the same screen? He said yes. He emailed me an invoice. It had 2 products and different prices, so I asked again. Again, he said it was all the same. When he came to install, he said he didn't recall the conversation, mocked me for thinking the price included the sunscreen all around. Anyway, the other windows got regular screens. He claimed the sunscreen offered more privacy - you can see out, no one can see in - than regular screen. In fact, there's no difference. At night you can easily see inside. Dan doesn't hold a contractor's license for his screen business. Legally, he can't do jobs in excess of $500, and can only ask for 10% deposit. He asked me for 50% deposit, he said the 10% rule didn't apply to his business. I know it does, but I gave him 25%. He asked my neighbor for much more. In general, I found Dan to be deceptive in his claims and conversation. The windows look fine.

After install, he did a thorough inspection of sink/faucet/disposal to ensure no leaks and cleaned mess/debris prior to actual departure. My dishwasher gap also need replacement and he went out of his way to stop and buy part to ensure all items installed were new. While he does not speak fluent English, he utilized his app to translate messages to me which was perfectly fine and helped with overall communication.
